I just picked up the 322GW and it is fantastic. You are so tight about the build quality. One thing I also like is the modularity that Nextbase built in, do you can add rear camera and cabin views onto the existing front camera.
Their build quality is amazing mine still are like new !

great video Ihave the 412GW since 2017 and it has never failed my. 1440p x 1280p amazing quality even on country roads with no lights everything is clear and crisp....cant fault nextbase products

I got one and very satisfied with it ...👍 📸. The USB power cable option is a very nice feature to keep the power cord short and neat.

I just got this nextbase 222 but I’d like to add the rear camera but from what I’m seeing the rear camera aren’t compatible with this 222 model ?
I was using a bluetooth transmitter for my phone audio and calls, it has a usb slot, will this be ok for the dash cam to work as normal? Or is it better to plug straight into the cigarette lighter??
I've got the "click n go" if you use the one that sticks I would assume both dash cams would click in to either one. You're right though these cams are great! I'm trying to pull a video that got overwritten any advice?
Thanks for the review. I received one for Christmas. How does the video save button work? Mine has always been red but today I pressed it for the first time and it turned white. Any idea? Does it just save the current 1 minutes video?
It just locks the current one minute video
When you press record, does it start recording from the moment you press the button or does it capture the moments before pressing the button?

Excellent review, i am looking to purchase a Dash Cam for my new car. Would you recommend this as aa 1st Dash Cam? I have never had one before. I've read many reviews and its so hard to choose between different models. I was looking at the Nextbase 122, but the 222 seems a better option, I dont think my new car will have a cigarette lighter, can it be charged via a USB? or will it need to be hard wired?
i just bought one but i just want to know those this cam.connect to the phone and that can txt you when something happen on the car while park?
What fideo file format this have? Somewhere says .mov and other place says .mp4. I just bought 122- model, but I have to return it, because that model gives .avi and my tablet won't play them.
I'm working on my 4th 222 due to the fact that I've only found 1 of the 4 that functions properly using the "P" mode with "G" sensitivity at any setting including "off". I'll explain; 3 of the 222's so far will run the internal battery down over night due to false motion detection. They will actually trigger on sitting on a table while being charged with no motion in the area whatsoever. The same occurs when mounted in a vehicle. Of course, every time the battery goes flat the time and date need to be redone. So I've had to go through 4 units to find one good one. Now I'm on a search for one more good one for another vehicle. It's like rolling the dice. Good luck.

Great information.. what would you say are the main differences between the next base 122 and the 222?...also which nextbase camera would start recording as soon as the car is in drive and shut off when you park and there's no movement?. My truck has a power source plug that is on all the time, even when the truck is off is providing power to the socket charger. I would like a camera that will automatically shut off once it detects there no motion from the moving car
I don't drive everyday. Do I need to remove the camera from the vehicle and keep it on charge in the house, or can it keep a charge for more than a day if the vehicle is off?

Why can't I see the videos from my rear camera? It's connected to the dash cam on the windshield , but it doesn't seem to be recording because when I watch the videos, it only shows the front dash cam.
Mine isn’t charging correctly. Tried to charge it in the house, blue light goes out after a minute yet isn’t charged…help please
Looks good but here in Az I've gone through 2 dashcams. The heat literally fries the internal parts. And the suction cups won't stay on more than a couple days. Sucks.
the great thing about the nextbase dashcams are they are easy to take off with the magnet system. so you can take the dash cam down out of the sun when you leave your car.
@@pickygarage True. But also a hassle. I actually tried the suction cup yesterday when it was °105. Didn't stay on even close to a minute .

The item I refer to is not a remote camera but one that attaches directly for in vehicle recording
Does it continuously record when powered on or does it only record 3 min segments. I haven't read where it records anything more than 3 mins at a time. I really don't want to have to keep hitting record button every 3 mins and hope I catch the accident .

Both work. I actually use the cam through many cars so i prefer the cigarette lighter.

Heh great video heh what is the black thing on the cord just before the cord gets plugged in ? The cord does a loop around it and you can actually take it off and it has magnetic on two sides , not sure what it’s purpose is 🤣

foot pounds per second? You mean frames per second right? That model is currently on sale in my city for $99 CDN. I've been looking for a dash cam that is affordable but has the quality. But as they saying goes, you get what you pay for. In this case it's a bargain for the sale price. I like the easy install/remove feature of the magnetic click base and the power cable the plugs to the base and not the camera. I had a Pappa GO cam and liked it but sometime down the road the rubber suction piece broke off and became useless. But this camera has my attention. The easy remove and install to the power source is nice. No more unplugging from the camera to take inside if you want.
Thanks for this video. I went and bought one. I love the dash cam. Though how do I get the cigarette lighter to work 24 hours. Instead of it working only when I drive. Also, thanks for showing how to put the suction cup by just sliding it sideways. Also wanted to know is possible to have 2 of the same dash cam, but one in the front and the other covering the back?

Yadi, you will have to rewire the cig lighter to make it on all the time or hardwire the cam to the fuse box- better option.

Some cigarette lighters turn off the power when you shut the car off. You could hard wire the dashcam to keep it on all the time the only down side is that it would drain your car battery. IF you want to run a rear camera it might be cheaper to just buy the nextbase 322 or 522 (i review the 522 on my channel). These dashcams have rear camera options. I wired a cheap usb 12v charger to the click-lights in the car ceiling. Mine has power 24/7. Some of those lights have a 10 minute timer on them, so check that first.
How long does the battery last without it been plugged in as I have a sat nav with a USB lead so would not be able to run them at the same time on a long journey thank you can you get a USB cable to charge it instead of the cigarette charger

it records fully while driving. When the car is off it will only start recording if the g sensor is activated.
So a small bit extra, buy the 322GW, it has most of the features the 522 has and its alot cheaper.
I didn't buy the 322 so i really appreciate you sharing your experience with the camera. I love the 522 with all the features. It really comes down to what someone is willing to spend you really cant go wrong with any of the nextbase cameras! thanks for tuning into my channel!

Mine has lasted well over a year but i do take it down all the time and switch between vehicles with it!

I see these can have a rear view attachment camera does it use split screen for this purpose or only show front view in use
This model does not support a rear camera. I believe the 322 and 522 are the only models that do support the rear camera. I believe it shows up in the files as two sep videos and not split screen.
Picky Garage in the UK the 222x comes with a rear camera that plugs in to the side, not sure if it’s the same model in other countries.

@@l.o.r410 I actually just put a video up of nextbases cheapest dash cam the 122 model. Pretty much the difference is features and picture quality.
Mine didn’t come with a suction cup mount.

The impact from the crash will automatically lock a minute video of the accident and will continue to record even after the accident. All you have to do is pull the SD card out before your car drives off or if the accident is bad towed. If you have any other questions please let me know! I am more than happy to help!

Yes the red button locks the video preventing it from being written over. The camera once turned on will automatically start recording. Does that make since ?

The 222 is not the lowest, they have a 122 model
Gage you are correct I just dont believe the 122 model is a good option for anyone due to the poor video. I would only go as low as the 222.

Do not buy. All next base dashcams turn off at low speeds if driving. I tried usb connection, 12V connection. Even charging it for 4 hours at home. I tried multiple cars and multiple versions.
There is a design flaw in the product. Please do not buy. This never happened to any other dashcam I used.

Be careful posting video of yourself driving. You ran a red light and made an illegal, improper turn into the far lane at 18:05. I've known of people getting a visit at home by a cop who saw such a video.

Not too long ago I saw video of a man who got visited by two female cops, because he recorded himself on a trip, and failed to come to a complete stop at a stop sign, and they saw the video. They wrote him a ticket at his own kitchen table. I'm an older, careful driver, but if that happened to me, those two cops would have had a seriously unpleasant experience. Anyone who records and posts videos online needs to drive by the book. It's unlikely you'd ever be visited by a cop, but why take the chance...

Why dash cams are a waste, any cop can take it if he feels like it. If you hit a deer and capture it on camera it doesn't take away the damage. Insurance companies don't go by videos for estimates. If you hit someone in the rear end it's your fault, so what good would the camera be then? Even if someone hits you one of two things will happen. You get out and they beat you up or shoot you, or you do something to them. If you go to court, very few judges will go by camera footage, unless you're a cop. Or may not allow it at all. You still have file a written report. If you capture the license plate of someone driving like an idiot, call 911. So imo you don't really "gain" anything from these Dash Cams, I had one for 2 weeks, nothing ever happened lol. Also if stolen, you lose your car and your camera, and the person who took it will smash it, or flip if off etc. haha!! Anyway just my 2 cents.

One thing to add here, fault of the accident is first determined by the officer on scene, and could result in charges against one or both drivers. This includes rear-ending someone who is intentionally harassing you by brake checking in a dangerous or repeated fashion. Police in most states, if not all, would fault the brake-checker, and they are often charged with reckless driving or other infractions. However, without your dashcam to prove such a thing, it quickly becomes a he said/she said situation. So no, rear ending someone isn't always going to lay the fault on you as long as you have proof of what happened. For reference, you can refer to the thousands of brake-check justice videos already on UA-cam, where you can see this for yourself. One I watched the other day, the brake-checker was actually arrested. You are also wrong about dashcam footage being considered in court. I have personally jurried in a case where the dashcam was the primary piece of evidence, and I have watched numerous court cases on UA-cam where dashcam, cellphone cam, or GoPro were instrumental in the case.
Do you have to use the next base sd card? Will I have any issues using a 128 gb scan disc sd card?
