This is designed for the camera lense to face forward toward the road. I don't know how well it would work facing passengers. A favorite among pro drivers is the dual lens Vantrue N2.
for what it is, it's not a bad camera, however ive found (after a year of ownership) that video quality is lacking and you can only make out license plate numbers if stopped directly behind a vehicle at a stop sign/light. I wasn't expecting much, due to the price paid, and i refuse to buy their new iq series cameras with 4k video quality..due to subscription costs. ugh
I checked on Next base U.S, France, U.K official website and also in the shop its 720 p.for 122 model.I could not see 1080p on the website. Strange your`s 1080p@@jeanforichon
@@jeanforichon it must be a special edition for costco and whats your thought about the dashcam.Where are you from? Me I got mine last friday in Halford store U.K for £57.
Hey! I recently purchased this same dashcam from a similar store. It's like an Amazon/Walmart return resale place. It works, but I have a few questions you may be able to answer! Do I have to use a nextbase SD card? Mine came with two adapters, but the SD card was missing in its spot next to them. The adapters are not nextbase brand so I am assuming the SD card was neither. Once I turned it on, I formatted the SD card I had of my own. You answered one of my questions just in your video. The videos record in three-minute increments over and over. Does it automatically start recording? The user manual is a bit confusing, and not the least bit helpful, as the "video mode" image appears to display a "recording duration" in red numbers in the bottom left-hand corner, but I do not see one. This led me to try to hit the red dot button on the right-hand side in an attempt to record, which then prompts me to format the SD card again. I appreciate you taking the time to read!
yes, you have to get a nextbase micro sd card. i tried 3rd party cards, they don't work. this camera supports the 32GB microsd card. larger than 32gb won't work. i wouldn't have known this if i hadn't read the box at the store. good luck.
@@johnhudson3095it seems none of the stores in Australia sell the sd cards. So i don't know what everyone is doing... Do you know if it's compatible with the rear facing cameras?
Electronics from the store Dirt Cheap are a gamble! Here is the playlist of DEALS & DUDS!

For $3.13 its a super winner and the 720 video and the audio was very respectable
Now I need to find a good 4K (or at least 2K) dash cam at the Dirt Cheap store!
Hello. Your channel is very interesting.
Thank you for such a detailed review and tests and comparisons of car recorders.
Thanks for this was really helpful especially 1080p comparison as was wondering about the 720p.
Good job.
2024: Just bought one at Walmart for $25. Clearance.
Nice video. I bought this dash cam as a gift for a Lyft driver. Can it be used to record passengers? Thank you for your time.

@@ThriftyAV Hello. Thank you for your reply. I appreciate the info. Wishing you Happy Holidays. 🙂
How well does the camera rotate if I want to film inside the cabin? Doesn't seem like it's that good for it.

Is there a way to export the videos I recorded on the 122 to my Iphone? (I lost the instruction manual)
The newer version of the 122 has 1080 now
Just bought one today, its 720 progressive scan not 1080
