    Histamines and tyramines can be obtained from high histamine or tyramine foods but also from foods that cause the release of histamines like alcohol.
    The common factor behind many high histamine and tyramine foods is that they are either created through the use of bacteria or they are old and the opposite of fresh.
    These can include:
    - Fermented
    - Aged
    - Cultured
    - Cured
    - Old
    - Nuts - Walnut, cashew, peanut
    - Some vegetables - avocado, eggplant, spinach, tomato
    - Smoked
    - Vinegar containing
    - Soured
    - Dried
    - Alcoholic

    I knew peanuts triggered migraines, thirty years ago, and have suffered terribly from migraines, inflammation, hairfall, chest pains, fever, flare ups, since chemo, five years ago...doctor has been puzzled, sent me on wild goose chase of specialists, been so ill...anyhow, I suddenly realised that peanuts aren’t real nuts and are of same family as beans, chic peas, googled and found out about tyramine, put myself on low tyramine diet and have been migraine / flare up free for three weeks now! I’m amazed, I’m so happy I have my life back! Thanks for your helpful video, just found you, new sub from Aussie 👍

    I get severe headaches/migraines when eating fermented foods. I just learned about tyramine today, that’s why I came across your video. Thanks for the great info.

    This is my world. I get migraine attacks from everything. Histamine, from blue light, from music close to my ears (ear buds), from rooms with bad air and stress. Regarding histamine, I get it from so many foods and drinks. Vinegar, alcohol, dried herbs, nuts (all of them), but also sweet things like pie, Cola or Red Bull. I can list 50 more things.
    I eat like 1/2 a kilo Broccoli in the morning as I was told it contains a lot of Vitamine C which works as a natural anti-histamine. I also feel better after eating Kale. Apart from those, dried ginger works as well. I would prefer fresh ginger, but then I get these terrible pains in my intestines (on the right side).
    This problem has pretty much destroyed my ability to make a living, and I keep suffering from it every day. I have run out of options to take anti-histamines as it makes me very nauseous. Have tried 3 or 4 different brands, and it looks like my body do not want them anymore.

      Coca Cola is one of my worst migraine triggers. If I drink even half a can I will have a horrible migraine the next day that meds won’t even help. Another that was horrible was a blue colored berry Pepsi I drank one time, almost had to go to ER for IV and a shot.

      Wtf causes us to be in this situation in the first place. Migraines aren’t normal. I think it’s a deficiency like the vid mentions. You don’t get a deficiency treated with leads to full red blood cells the syndrome mentioned. Like Ik my mom got told to increase her magnesium for her migraines. I think when it’s low or high it affects blood pressure which affects tyramine tolerance.

    I don't get migraines, but I get dangerously high blood pressure spikes within 7 hours of eating tyramine foods. I've had it spike to as high as 230 / 120. It took me 2 years to figure out where those sudden spikes came from. Several thousand dollars to EMT and ERs. Nowadays it only happens when I eat out with unknown spices, or hidden vinegar preparations, and I triple up on my BP meds, take a Benadryl and wait it out. I eat only clean foods, not preservatives, nothing packaged. Fresh meat, fish, limited vegetables.

      So my mother has also this what you are describing
      I was to several doktores they checkt everything and dosnt know where the high blood pressure comes from
      It goes for almost 1 year know
      So they did know that she has histamintoleraz but that's it
      I did everything and finally found that tyramin can be a faktor
      So please I need your help
      How are you doing
      Did you found a way out
      The problem is she can not take blood pressure medication because she didn't have blood pressure so by taken those she gets headaches its horrible
      Please can you help

      For me I think it’s magnesium. I’m taking too much which affect my blood pressure which leads to tyramine sensitivity aka heart palpitations after eating.

    Definitely a trigger. I tend to crave the histamine high foods right before my cycle and ovulation when estrogen is low and my natural histamine tolerance is low because of it. I use a DAO blocker and avoid those foods and I get no more migraines!

    Dried fruits give me a headache, that finally develop into a migraine literally within an hour or two!

    I am currently trying to research as much as possible, I suffer from IIH and so far I know I need to stay away from high Vit A and tyramine foods. Thanks for the video

    If I have a tyramines food, I wake in the middle of the night with tachycardia. It is horrifying. My heart is going 130-140 beats per minute. I don't know how I survive this. I'm sure my blood pressure is through the roof while this is happening. I've started being so careful. This used to happen to me about two or three times a year but now it happens like two or three times a week. I used to think it was only cheese or pickles that caused it but now I'm super super sensitive to everything containing tyramine, like canned chicken or the limoncello almonds that are white chocolate covered. This is simply a terrifying nightmare I'm so afraid to eat anything! I am desperate for help.

      If our root causes are left unchecked and we become less healthy our gut will often suffer. As the gut breaks down it will be less able to deal with adverse food ingredients and we can become more and more sensitive to foods.       Almonds are high tyramine. So is coconut (for me). I eat mostly carnivore, fresh only meat and fish, with an occasional broccoli or cauliflower added. A green leaf salad, no spinach onions or tomatoes. If you eat avocado, cut off all dark green near the skin. And if it has dark spots on the inside, toss the avocado.

      Your gut flora is probably part of the problem: Bacteria in your gut brake down foods. Most bacteria used by our civilizations to ferment stuff are tyramine producing. Despite avoiding fermented stuff from a certain point in life, you will still have a lot of bacteria that brake down food into tyramine. (I.E. your backyard will have the same plants of your neighborhood). Yet some commercially available gut flora supplements provide specific bacteria that not only compete with those ones but actually can brake down tyramine. IE lactobacillus plantarum. I suggest you keep a tyramine free diet and find a composition of gut flora supplements that are knowingly recomended for tyramine intollerance. Just be carefull to avoid any supplements of tyramine producing bacteria. In other words it is possible to switch from a gut flora that is a toxic enemy into a powerful ally. You will still keep a variety of a gazillion of different microbes inside you but a much better preponderance. Let me know if it helped. It should work pretty fast like in a matter of days.

      Try supplements of bacteria that brake down tyramine or at least compete with gut bacteria that produce tyramine. Ie lactobacillus plantarum. Avoid any supplements that produce tyramine.

    Dr. John Allocca and other doctors have linked high tyramine foods to depression and anger/rage along with migraines.

    What brand of DAO supplement would you recommend? Loved your video! Trying to crack my case of having migraines for over 20 years! Histamine totally a trigger. Found that out from a functional medicine doctor.

    All nightshade vegetables ( potatos, tomatoes, eggplant, etc)and any dyes and colors and flavoring in supplements can trigger migraine also

    I’ve been on a tyramine histamine diet for over a month now but seen no difference in my chronic migraines. I’m going to keep trying for another 2 months and see if there’s any change. I’ve tried so many things!

      I will watch more of your videos! Problem is, once I restrict my diet too much I end up extremely hungry, maybe because I’m on Topamax, for migraines, which speeds up metabolism. If I don’t eat when hungry it ALWAYS triggers a migraine. So diets where I end up cutting out too much protein or carbohydrate (forget trying to add an inflammation diet to the mix!) end up triggering more migraines than not. It’s a catch 22.

      @@RGBEAT The obvious answer is to eat more, but how you do this may require a nutritionist to help you if you are not already able to do it. There are a million animal foods and hundreds of thousands of plant foods, there is a solution out there, keep going!

      @@RGBEAT One thin that helped me a ton was figuring out sodium caseinate and MSG are triggers for me. I don’t get a migraine the same day from them though. It is usually the next day, and a horrible one that my migraine meds don’t help.

    I've learned that most cheeses and alcohol cause rather extreme hypertension in my body. Hypertension can also trigger migraines. Are Hypertension and Migraines interconnected? If so, does that mean I'm Tyramine sensitive?

      I have the blood pressure response. The only alcohol I have found is quite tolerable for the occasional drink is Tito's vodka. Rum is also acceptable on occasion without any side effects. Now regular consumption will bring up the blood pressure again.

    Did you experience any insomnia from tyramine or histamine rich foods without any migraine? Or have you ever heard someone experiencing that?

      There are SO many symptoms that can be aggravated by histamines and whatever gut and immune system dysfunction is going on that is causing enzymes to not function properly and be able to break these down

      yes because tyramine go in the noradrenaline neurotransmiter, the fight/flight neurotransmiter,
      and you will have nightmares when you have too much tyramine in blood.
      i research about tyramine over years because of my headache.
