Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse is one of my favorite games on the 3DS and its visual presentation is part of that. I wasn't aware of the Dragon Quest Monsters game, its SMT-like mechanics sound very interesting. As a fan of both SMT and Dragon Quest, that seems like something I would really enjoy. Thank you for letting me know about this game. 👍
I really appreciate your curation of these titles and the commentaries. Played some, knew others, but always have one or two titles that i am not aware of. Thank you
i'm just impressed with how many games this channel is able to pull out of these various systems libraries every week, surely it's not just one person who's playing all these games??
I was underestimating 3DS when NGP (PSVITA) leak came out. But then, the game released and so many of them are home console ports, which is impressive considering how weak 3DS hardware is.
I feel like the Ocarina of Time remake deserves to be on a list. Yes it’s a remake, but it does a whole lot more while still being faithful to the original game. It added improved graphics, better Z targeting, Water Temple is less frustrating, and the Master Quest from the GameCube version. The only complaint people had with this version is the lighting, but I feel like having brighter lighting makes sense considering that it’s on a handheld console. Can’t say the same for the Majora’s mask remake.
Smt4 is so much better than apocalypse. The story. The endings. Walter and Johnathan were so alive you felt like you knew them personally. Apocalypse lacks the story that made smt4 the absolute pinnacle of the series.
To be fair I never beat Apocalypse yet, but right off bat got neutral ending ( I saved at critical point where one choice could put me on that or good path,WITHOUT a guide until shortly after-talk about luck!) and started SMTIVa, then went back from save point in original to do law ending… I too just found IV to be much more at stake and I dunno, I liked more… not that Apocalypse bad- but just felt off w story.
It’s the characters. Walter and Johnathan are grown ass men. Constantly going through their own turmoil. Conflicted. Being pulled in different direction. Idealistic but yet relatable. They dont write them like that anymore. Just look at SMT apocalypse and SMT 5. Just weak writing by comparison to 4. And even 3 for that matter.
Dam, that emulator you are using brings 3DS games to a whole new level. Make them look like Xbox 360 titles. I wish they made games as good as the 3DS today
Wait!? What!? There is a Tekken for 3DS!? D: Liberation maiden looks so interesting... I check it out later... Thanks for another video my friend, love your channel 😊
Oddly enough it had a version for all three major fighting franchises. It had tekken, street fighter, and a dead or alive game. Dead or Alive even has a metroid stage.
The decade old 3DS' 3D graphics are sorely underrated. It really adds to the immersion. I'm mainly a PC gamer but always have a soft spot for the 3DS as its doing what the PC and other consoles can do. I'm totally fine with the 3DS' low resolution and small screen as the 3D more than compensates for it. I'm so enamoured I have 4 New 3DS XLs (for "backup") as I don't think there would be another new 3D console/handheld anytime soon.
Just realized I waited for your videos to watch during work breakfast so really a good surprise after few weeks! Adding this vid to watch later list, as always.
Why we didn’t get the Metroid fusion remake on 3ds baffles my mind cause Metroid Samus returns ended with the beginning of Metroid fusion who knows why mercury steam didn’t pursue it
I upgrade my Regular 3DS into New 3DS XL because of graphics and Bigger Screen I am focusing right now on SMT IV Ending and DLC Boss fights also Strange Journey besides my 64GB is full of games.
I really should play Xenoblade Chronicles sometime. It never interested me a whole lot from a gameplay standpoint, but I own the game on Switch after a certain Christmas saw it gifted to me and I've yet to play through it, but I intend to if nothing else because I own it.
Dragon Ball Fusions is a game I highly recommend for people who like customizing their own characters. The starting options you're given for your species and such isn't that incredible, but you get a huge variety of clothing and you can fuse with pretty much *any* character you unlock. It's the whole feature of the game. I think I eventually made a red-skinned alien fused with GT SSJ4 Goku that I used in my main save for the longest time. Even once you beat the game you'll still play to unlock more characters and once you've gotten them all, you still want to play anyway because... well it's just a fun game. I desperately hope they don't let it die on the 3DS. The extra screen is barely even necessary for the gameplay and they could continue to make sequels to it, easily. But even if it does, I highly recommend picking it up on the 3DS if you haven't yet. It surprised me how fun that game was. I always liked the fusion concept in Dragon Ball, but even I underestimated how good the game would be.
Dragon Ball fusions, man do I hate the fact that that game came out at the time that it did I mean, I wanted to play it, but the problem was that not a lot of people that I knew were getting it at the time that he had released who also had 3DS as well as I did and still do but it was hard enough, trying to get a job on my own in order to buy a game like that as well as other games that I wanted for the system if not an upgrade to a Nintendo 2DS system all together
One of the small flaws of games like SMT on DS and 3DS is that in-combat you can't see yourself. SMT V really fixes that, thankfully, but even though it is kinda lame, I still think SMT IV: Apocalypse is one of the best SMT games to date. But they're all pretty damn good, in my opinion. I've played pretty much all of the mainline games (Apocalypse isn't really mainline, but close enough) except 2 (had just beaten SMT 1 and was a little tired and couldn't find a good walkthrough in English), and I generally recommend all of them, but for 3DS, SMT IV: Apocalypse greatly outpaces SMT IV. SMT IV is a good game, but it can be very confusing. Without a walkthrough, you *will* get lost and the introduction sequence is extremely hard for no reason. I spent more time having my demons die on me than I did actually making any progress in grinding. SMT IV: Apocalypse doesn't have this issue and it's a really good-looking game to boot. Plus, back to customization, you get a lot of cool outfit options. Like... an insane amount of them. Recolors of most every outfit, too (about three types of each). From your starter outfit and its color alts, to an officer or military uniform, to a goth maid outfit, if that's your thing.
once again, what is the point of showing graphically impressive games that look different than on the original hardware? Those are emulated, with higher resolution and framerate, you're showing graphically impressive emulations not original games on a specific system. They DO NOT look like this
I own Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, and I tried and tried, but I just couldn't get into that game. I dont know what it was, but I just didnt care for the characters or the story. Damn shame, because they definitely put a lot of work into that game.
Playing Tekken on anything other than a PS controller feels wrong to me. XB was decent on the 3ds. But better on the switch. Also all of the Mario & Luigi games on the 3ds are worth playing.
I love Apocalypse - probably my fav game on the ds if u exclude Strange Journey - but I am not sure I would ever define it as "graphically impressive"... I can give u persona Q maybe that looks good overall... the megaten games I truly love but I think they all look kinda crap on the ds let's be honest ;)
It was ported to the 3DS for the express purpose of encouraging people to buy the "New" 3DS, which required the additional processing power and wouldn't run on OG 3DS systems.

Hold my Sega Game Gear.

It was in part 2 ya silly goose.
One game that looked surprisingly impressive for the system was Metroid Prime Federation Force.
Too bad the game itself blows.
Smt4 is so much better than apocalypse. The story. The endings. Walter and Johnathan were so alive you felt like you knew them personally. Apocalypse lacks the story that made smt4 the absolute pinnacle of the series.
Apocalypse tried to be Persona + SMT and instead just ended up being a worse version of both.

This simulation we're all living in.
And it runs on a 3DS too.

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance is a masterpiece on 3ds
Holy crap! That Need for Speed looks amazing. I looked away from the video for a few minutes and I assumed a new one had started.
Okay, the ? block and starman in Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy (9:00) always have me geeking out 😆

Enjoyed the video, but presenting the games upscaled using an emulator isn't really representative of how they look on the 3DS
I upgrade my Regular 3DS into New 3DS XL because of graphics and Bigger Screen I am focusing right now on SMT IV Ending and DLC Boss fights also Strange Journey besides my 64GB is full of games.
SMT IV & apocalypse are both GREAT games that any turn based fan should try out.
