Having watched Boiling Point(1999), and knowing his father died that year, he was sued, didn’t get his third star, and then has to know his twins are born premature, I am surprised that he hasn’t had a heart attack at all with all of that stress. The man is to stubborn to die or have his body give out.

I've never worked in a kitchen myself but I had a mate who went to culinary school and has worked in kitchens since he was like 17. He says this is exactly what it's like, and people who think Gordon hams it up for the camera are wrong. If anything, he'd be way worse if the cameras weren't there. It's an extremely stressful job due to timing/quality being so important to success.

I don't understand. Boiling Point of '99 was a masterpiece, the direction was personal, Gordon was portrayed in a humanistic manner, with real joys and pains and real passion and ambition. The camera work was simple, the narrator was not implying any emotion most of the time, he was not acting in a way while speaking, he was direct and only said what was needed. This Boiling Point does not hold up one bit to the former. The direction is celebrity oriented where human details have been stripped away, the camera work is horrendous, the narrator constantly makes remarks beyond what is necessary. It is no longer about Gordon the human but about Gordon as a celebrity. Quiet literally the thing he was spiting at around 1:20:00 in Monte Carlo, that plastic presentation. The entire feel of this is a distant and annoying experience, a grand disappointment.

The reason is that in 1900 France there were only 3,000 cars. Michelin tire company brought out a guide in 1900 to promote the best hotels and restaurants in France to ultimately encourage travel which they hoped would increase the amount of tyre sales around the country. The guide also included a manual on car maintenance tips etc. The restaurant side of the guide became more popular as the years went by so the company began to rank restaurants on their quality which led the the 3 star rankings that we have today.

The filming of MPW’s wedding in this piece is what caused the eventual disintegration of he and Gordon’s relationship, and the end of their long friendship. It’s rather unreal that it’s forever documented and lives immortal in this, and we can actually watch the exact moment, 21 years later, that was ultimately the catalyst for the end of their relationship. Find that to be very nostalgic, rather sad even. As well as seeing Marcus and Gordon’s prior close friendship here, knowing that it too is destined to disintegrate; destined to turn very sour, very bitter, and very angrily sad. Such a shame.

Definitely takes a certain type of person to work at that level with those hours for years or decades. They think part of a top level chef is that they enjoy suffering, and you gain respect in the culinary world by intense suffering and continuing to cook.
Someone worked in Restaurant Gordon Ramsay recently and he said only 5% of people who go to work there last more than 1 week. The person who wrote it lasted 3 months but couldn't hack it any longer.
Gordon Ramsay is brilliant. Such an admirable character, chef, business person. He's successful in every way. School's should teach students how to develop such skills in life.
He’s a fascinating guy. Can seem harsh but the pressure he puts on himself means everyone else is expected to perform. Had a friend who worked for him, and really liked him.
This is a guy who truly earned his success...he's not one of those guys who got lucky making an app or coming with one product that went viral... he had to grind his way through tough stuff over and over, and continue to maintain and reinvent himself, from working with tough chefs, to being a tough chef himself under a lot of scrutiny, to expanding his restaurants and suffering losses and lawsuits, to venturing into television and streaming... to sum it all up, look at the part in which he got the opportunity to be cooking for the Prime Minister, a big deal for him as he said, and yet he wouldn't cancel his Marathon participation the day before, despite how something might go wrong and risk both... this documentary although might show him in unflattering light here or there, the truth is, it shows how resilient and confident he was and how he worked his ass off to earn every single thing he got
Whatever your doing it requires skill and passion. Making an app or a product still takes a lot of effort, there’s a lot of steps before making it successful. “Don’t work hard work smarter”

The MIchelin guide was first created as a way to get people in france to travel (at the time, there were a few thousand cars in france, tops) via cars. Cars weren't seen as a valid mode of long range transport, and the Michelin brothers wanted to change that, so they published the Michelin guide, a book with a simple 3 star rating system, to show the people good restaurants to travel to in the hopes that more people would take their cars, and that those extra miles would get them extra customers. Financially, I have no clue if it's worth doing today or not for Michelin, but they've kept doing it to modern day so I assume it helps them in some way.

I’m sad he and Marcus fell out, I wish I knew all the tea, but I’m glad both are thriving. Marcus might not like Gordon anymore, but he can’t say he would be where he is today without his tutelage and assistance, he literally let the man run a £1.2M restaurant. That’s just facts.
From watching gordons shows proves to me shows that he is an incredible judge of characters and can see whom are greedy and are self absorbed. Gordon is a saint and rewards only those that deserve it
Agreed the first series was better with Jack Davenport narrating with less quantity and more quality. This beyond boiling point was not as well produced either in my opinion. I expect GR knew this was the case and became more influential in future tv projects.
About Gordon's brother, it hurts even more knowing how in 2017 he was arrested and put in jail for possessing Heroin in Indonesia. Which means all that rehab didn't work out.
Gordon paid for rehab 8/9 times and watched him shoot up too. There was an agreement he could have 1 last £10 bag before going to rehab. Also gordon would give him money for haircuts and he would instantly be trying to score
I will never understand why a tire salesman gives stars to the restaurants or chefs. 😅Who did give the full authority to the tire company to assess the restaurants? 🤔Why did chefs not give the stars to tires in the tire company? A lot of unanswered questions on my head 😵

Boiling Point of '99 was a masterpiece, the direction was personal, Gordon was portrayed in a humanistic manner, with real joys and pains and real passion and ambition. The camera work was simple, the narrator was not implying any emotion most of the time, he was not acting in a way while speaking, he was direct and only said what was needed.
This Boiling Point does not hold up one bit to the former.
The direction is celebrity oriented where human details have been stripped away, the camera work is horrendous, the narrator constantly makes remarks beyond what is necessary. It is no longer about Gordon the human but about Gordon as a celebrity.
Quiet literally the thing he was spiting at around 1:20:00 in Monte Carlo, that plastic presentation.
The entire feel of this is a distant and annoying experience, a grand disappointment.

The reason is that in 1900 France there were only 3,000 cars. Michelin tire company brought out a guide in 1900 to promote the best hotels and restaurants in France to ultimately encourage travel which they hoped would increase the amount of tyre sales around the country.
The guide also included a manual on car maintenance tips etc.
The restaurant side of the guide became more popular as the years went by so the company began to rank restaurants on their quality which led the the 3 star rankings that we have today.

Ramsey reminds me of my 8th grade history teacher - she was tough, but I learned more from her than any other. Plus I respect her more than any other.
I think the best teacher is one who can make the kids understand, without being so harsh that they're unapproachable.
The filming of MPW’s wedding in this piece is what caused the eventual disintegration of he and Gordon’s relationship, and the end of their long friendship. It’s rather unreal that it’s forever documented and lives immortal in this, and we can actually watch the exact moment, 21 years later, that was ultimately the catalyst for the end of their relationship. Find that to be very nostalgic, rather sad even. As well as seeing Marcus and Gordon’s prior close friendship here, knowing that it too is destined to disintegrate; destined to turn very sour, very bitter, and very angrily sad. Such a shame.

I've really come to respect Gordon's work and how hard he worked to become a great chef.
Definitely takes a certain type of person to work at that level with those hours for years or decades. They think part of a top level chef is that they enjoy suffering, and you gain respect in the culinary world by intense suffering and continuing to cook.
Someone worked in Restaurant Gordon Ramsay recently and he said only 5% of people who go to work there last more than 1 week. The person who wrote it lasted 3 months but couldn't hack it any longer.
Gordon Ramsay is brilliant. Such an admirable character, chef, business person. He's successful in every way. School's should teach students how to develop such skills in life.

This is a guy who truly earned his success...he's not one of those guys who got lucky making an app or coming with one product that went viral... he had to grind his way through tough stuff over and over, and continue to maintain and reinvent himself, from working with tough chefs, to being a tough chef himself under a lot of scrutiny, to expanding his restaurants and suffering losses and lawsuits, to venturing into television and streaming... to sum it all up, look at the part in which he got the opportunity to be cooking for the Prime Minister, a big deal for him as he said, and yet he wouldn't cancel his Marathon participation the day before, despite how something might go wrong and risk both... this documentary although might show him in unflattering light here or there, the truth is, it shows how resilient and confident he was and how he worked his ass off to earn every single thing he got
Whatever your doing it requires skill and passion. Making an app or a product still takes a lot of effort, there’s a lot of steps before making it successful. “Don’t work hard work smarter”

Wait your telling me Michelin that company that produces tires, is also the same one that gives chefs ranks? Oh my god and here I am thinking to my self "Michelin? The MIchelin guide was first created as a way to get people in france to travel (at the time, there were a few thousand cars in france, tops) via cars. Cars weren't seen as a valid mode of long range transport, and the Michelin brothers wanted to change that, so they published the Michelin guide, a book with a simple 3 star rating system, to show the people good restaurants to travel to in the hopes that more people would take their cars, and that those extra miles would get them extra customers. Financially, I have no clue if it's worth doing today or not for Michelin, but they've kept doing it to modern day so I assume it helps them in some way.
