Such openness and honesty! What was your favourite moment?
I was a voucher kid too. Didn’t really think about it back then but subconsciously it must have done something for me. I’m not a high flyer but have done time in the Army, now have a career in finance and own own my own home - owning a house would have been unthinkable to me when I was at school. At 31 I should give myself a bit more credit I think.

I saw Gordon once at the airport and could see that he looked a bit stressed and likely wanted to be left alone. I decided that the nicest thing I could do if I appreciated his work was to just leave him be. I read all of Gordon Ramseys books at about age 22yrs while battling an eating disorder. I ended up taking a catering course at my local college and it revived my trust in food. I recovered and was able to eat, cook and feed my children as a single mum. I’m 41 now and still so grateful for this man telling his story xxx

As a kid I lost my parents, and I remember I wasn’t allowed to watch Gordon due to the swearing, but I used to go behind everyone’s back to watch him religiously. I went to cooking and culinary school with a dream to be like him, and now I’m a qualified chef and I thank him for all the inspiration! Love you Gordon! 🙏🙏

First off, the fact that this dude hasn't had a heart attack from stress is mind blowing me and my gf always watch everything he makes and sometimes I'm like dude HOW does he keep up with alllllll of this and stay genuine. He's such a SAAAAVAGE
that's actually what i was hoping they might address- how do you keep your empire going? how do you decide what projects to take on and what to pass on? how will you know when it's time to scale back? re: the restaurant group- how important is it to keep long-time employees/collaborators with you and how do you mutually recognize it's time for someone to move on, either because they're burnt out or because they need to go and create something for themselves? (bonus, super nosy question: how much time does your wife really get to spend with you?)
I almost didn’t click on this, but I’m glad I did.
So many people classify Gordon as a brash, rude, arrogant guy. But if you really watch him, you find that he has a huge heart. He’s just brutally honest. Believe me, you want people like that in your life!
I guess the brash, rude and arrogant is mostly the media character. And partly kitchen culture.

I find that guy so rude and arrogant, he should learn to respect others. There is no room for cursing and make people feel bad. My mom used to say nobody is stupid but we can do stupid things. Being poor when you are young does not give you the right to treat people the way you do., remember you are not the only person who was born poor.
There are too many that cant use their common sense....its not a wonder he loses it from time to time. I would do anything to spend a year training with him but first as a waitress, that is the best way to learn the menu......being armed with that knowledge going into the kitchen is a huge part of becoming a great chef.
I guess it's boils down to "It's not what you say, but how you say it " 🤷♀️
You can clearly see why he’s been so successful. Driven, motivated, focused, intelligent and dedicated to being exceptional.
Yeah I was more of a fan earlier, but I'm someone who appreaciates loyalty. And to see what he did to his mentor kinda destroyed his image, and rightfully so.
Another very important thing - father figure. So many people are having problems in their life because fathers/father figures are missing. Men need that. So much. And men are important for that hopefully people are starting to wake up and realise that we need to uplift men.

I’m a single mom. I grew up in a house with heated up canned veggies and hamburger helper and a lot of frozen dinners. Gordon was my inspiration to cook quick and easy, but healthy meals for my son. I involve my son in the cooking process and he loves (almost) everything from chicken pineapple Thai curry to Keema to spicy beef enchiladas and loves his veggies. Thank you Gordon for being an inspiration for those of us who didn’t grow up with parents to help teach us how to cook ❤

That’s wonderful Mama❤ I’m a single mom of four teens and if I couldn’t afford restaurants I would recreate what my kids craved at home whether it was sushi,curry or fish n chips.Now I have four teens who can cook WELL ❤
Gordon is so authentic in answering questions. He also follows his own advice when his father in law told him to “ sell the Porsche “ and he sold it. That takes humility. God bless u Gordon.

I was only a small time pub/ café chef with no training. I would watch Gordon Ramsey's kitchen nightmares all the time, he taught me so much. I had health and safety inspect my kitchen, all they did was open one fridge and see how clean and organised it was they didn't bother looking at anything else and I got a top rating. I owe that to Gordon, even though I was small time I did it to the highest standard I could. Fresh, simple, clean and all homemade. Watching this video just makes me respect him more, a true inspiration, thanks for providing interview - was brilliant 🙂

“You haven’t been diagnosed with a horrendous disease. You haven’t been given 6 months to live”……….That one phrase had so much power in it for me. I’ve been convincing myself that in this low spot I’m in with a medical issue immediately after retiring that I just had to accept it. This single statement by Gordon really sunk in deep so, I got up & screamed “No! this is not my lot in life to accept! Thank you Gordon & the interviewer for providing this powerful inspiring message 🙏🏼❣️

This is a celebrity I genuinely really admire.
This has been stated a shit ton of times, but despite the many exaggerated showings of Ramsay (Practically on US versions of his shows) deep down he has a massive passion for cooking, and wants any chef he is in charge of to share that passion by taking it seriously and not half assing it. He really is treasure.
I can't think of another Chef I have more respect for than Gordon Ramsay. Such a genuine guy and has earned his position with graft and talent.
Gordon is definitely why I'm a Chef, but, hearing his backstop makes me appreciate him even more. Cause he's just a normal person, whose gone through some of the same horseshit some of us have gone through. He's a beautiful person and a amazing chef.
Yeah I think as a younger man he rebelled. I know yrs ago he almost lost his wife. He's taken the crashes he's gone through and chosen to grow. His mum has taught him too,but he bounced back and those 6 children of his has changed his heart.
You don't get this kind of quality interview on Chatty Man. Kudos to the interviewer who seamlessly navigated a researched and reflective verbal dance. Gordon is an honest and rare talent. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this.

Having worked in the largest commercial bakery in Canada for 20 years, all the while a fan of Gordon Ramsay, I couldnt look away from this episode. Thank you for the insights and honesty. I've been following Gordon for 20+ years, and all the while dealing with chronic health issues, from epilepsy to crohns disease, which made me turn to steadfast, resilient people like Gordon, to push through and continue to grow despite all forms of adversity. I'm in my late 30's now, and still ready to take on big challenges, and push through the pain, being truly grateful to still be able to function in the highest stress, workload environment, without any regrets. THANK YOU GORDON RAMSAY!
Top notch interviewer. He did the research for great questions. Gordon is the standard for today. He is a no BS person whether he’s fixing a kitchen or a small hotel/ resort. His approach to fixing things is always about compassion and education. Hell’s Kitchen he shows what standards and expectations are. He’s the same talented guy in any video he’s been involved. His advice to young people wondering about how they should proceed in life was priceless. His children are an exemplar for their successes.
I cried when he said, " Learn to dance in the storm." That is a phrase that could sum up my life.
Am so happy to have worked with Gordon’s production team on one of his uncharted episode. Coolest guy to work with and I have the highest respect for him! his story is amazing and inspiring 🙌🏼

What a fantastic interviewer! I didn’t catch his name, but he really made Gordon open up. Ramsey showed a vulnerable side that I didn’t know he had. He is extremely eloquent and sensitive deep down.

All I have to say is this interview was fantastic. I love Gordon Ramsay, and all his work. I hope I can use this as fuel to “get my shit together”, because I’ve honestly allowed myself to become paralyzed with fear, anxiety, futility. I’ve dropped the ball on all of my passions and dreams, let hobbies drift off. This hit home, hard. Thank you for making this interview available, and to Gordon for being open to it.

I too have let the fears and anxiety of my life rule my being. But there is always time to right the ship and move forward. Take care!
It's easier said than done, obviously, but the simplest way to get started is to... start. Pinpoint your exact issue(s), research, think, and figure out what you can do to or MIGHT be able to do to curb those issues. And then... start. Somewhere. Get up and go. And again I know it's easier said than done. But remember that simple isn't the same as easy.
Just start small, get a journal and write task that meet your goals.. you got this
Really nice to see him as a person instead of the perfect showman. Also, good to know about his personal history and what drives him. I didn’t think of him in any particular way before, except he gets angry. He’s a wonderful guy :) 🌷🌱
One thing I love about him is how angry he gets at bosses who are cruel to their workers, or husbands who are mistreating their wives by going into massive debt without even consulting them. You can tell that his righteous anger on behalf of people who are being mistreated comes from his own history, and I just love his passion for justice.

When someone is so driven there is usually a very good reason. Gordon raised a very good reason - the segregation of pupils who have free school lunches from the rest. I remember school lunches when this practice was changed and I was at junior school - it had been going on for so long. The ' free lunches ' even had to sit on tables apart from the rest. 😢 ❤

It's a ridiculous class discrimination.
The silver lining I guess if it moves u to better circumstances, but if it doesn't it can have the opposite effect. Learning self confidence is crucial.. But can be very hard to do.
One school my granddaughter went to actually fixed this problem. A child could bring a lunch from home if they chose but it wasn't necessary. Every child got free breakfast and lunch so no one knew who the poorer kids were. If they wanted breakfast they had to come early but the busses all arrived early so no one missed breakfast if they needed it. The kids who didn't ride busses had their parents bring them early. It seemed to work out great, the cafeteria even had cupcakes for a class if one had a birthday, again, since it was provided free by the school no child was left out because mom couldn't afford cupcakes. Yes, the taxes were a bit higher but it was voted for and passed by a good margin and really was only a few dollars per year extra.
Gordan is someone to look up too. He's put in the hard work, soaked up everything he has learned through the years & used it to better his life in such a great way. Really great interview 🫶
Incredible that his kids have never lived off his businesses as such, they have all gone and done their own thing. The police and the Royal Marines, amazing! Truly shows how he is as a man and father, staying humble and making your own success.
It is now not surprising to see how driven this incredible man is, knowing a bit more of his background. It made me think of my early years in education in a foreign country amongst very rich kids .. and I just thought my parents have not even got a quarter of these people's money, but I will show them - I will have to simply be the best I can be and beat them in every subject and I even beat them in their own language studies! They could not touch me any more - their money was nothing to me - I had pride and confidence. Once you have been through a tough time, you can manage anything ... so glad I watched this - incredible man, an inspiration!

Wow SO INSPIRED by Gordon’s story ! Never knew all this about him! He gives me such hope for myself at age 60 after being a single mother raising my 4 kids alone as mom and dad to them for years and years to now having lost everything since COVID, having to restart again - I can now do so with enthusiasm and in pursuit of more for myself after watching this 🙌🏻 never to late to start again 🤞

I believe thats how i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and CFS. The sink or swim ,the pressure as a kid. The screaming get up,chores now... your adrenaline is up and down ,your cortisol levels are through the roof. We were definitely made to feel different. The separation of rich vs poor does segregate you and you have to fight to be seen. With food ,you can taste it. With woodwork you can feel if. With music you can hear it, poetry you can read it . If you want it bad enough, you'll do it. Remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease. My father was never there .We need more present fathers.
Gordon is a fascinating man. I've learned so much from him. Literally the most interesting man on TV.

My son has ASD and struggles to socialise, he turn on the tv only to watch Gordon tv program Hell’s Kitchen all the programs he keeps watching and he has been an inspiration to learn to cook he now loves cooking and it’s unbelievable the impact in my sons life, Gordon is truly a master in the kitchen he would love to meet him in person❤ it woulb be a dream come true !!!😅
I'm so glad I came across this. I'm almost Gordon's age and learnt very similar lessons along the way, just driven. Not to succeed but just driven. Raised my family while learning what I needed to and currently working with my 'Piere' as I'm typing this. All the things he's mentioned along the lines of..sell your fucken Porsche, banks won't touch you etc, no one sees this, no one imparts this which I think is important because the journey your in can be isolating because it's your dream. Thank you Gordon for imparting these tidbits and insights. I've tried to raise my kids to chase there dreams, fail big and often, support one another but don't chase the money and accolades as they are fleeting. Oh and a final note, I'm a no nonsense person always have been. It can be lonely...but worth it as life for me is drama free and I have more focus..❤ Brilliant interview and great leading questions!! I absolutely love chef Gordon Ramsay. He has changed my cooking game. I cook for my kids and they think they're at a restaurant. I yell at my husband if he burned something and didn't fix it right. I just turned my house upside down but it runs like a well well oiled machine😂😂😂
I was at La international airport and Gordon and Tilly were trying to get the SUV and the paparazzi was just bombarding them I tried to run some interference and it helped a little bit and I got the best thing from chef Ramsay he smiled at me and winked as to say thank you. I admire the man for overcoming great difficulty.

I had a very similar upbringing to Gordon. Poor family on a council estate, my father was an absent alcoholic, mum holding down 2 to 3 jobs doing the roles of mum and dad, often empty cupboards a day or two before her pay day.
I wouldn't change any part of it. It built resilience and you grow up knowing you have to work for things/success, there's no sense of entitlement. I used to clean and cook for my brothers after school while mum was at work. Me and brothers are all very close, we were a big support for eachother growing up.
Gordon is right, at the time you don't really feel like you're living a deprived life. In many ways I feel I had a very life enriching upbringing.
This was exceptional what a fast hour I’ve always been a Gordon fan and his shows but hearing his life and perspective gave me a new appreciation he’s an inspiration
It's very refreshing to hear him speak humbly, and with humility. I find his TV persona quite obnoxious and tiresome, but here, he's really relatable and brilliant. Well done Gordon!

Gordon Ramsey is surely an enigma looking so young yet seemingly stressed out all the time, but the efficacy of true happiness cures all ills.
This man's drive and perseverance give me tingles. He comes across as the most authentic yet humble celebrity on the planet (with apologies to Keanu Reeves).
As a businessman of 40 years - i had often seen Gordon ( via media ) as angry and bombastic. Nothing could be further from the truth. He spoke to a lot of my own struggles ( not in the kitchen by the way .. my passion for food is just for personal growth ), But that belief in your own knowledge determination and a desire to do good is a force - kudos

Lovely Gordon, I've been a fan of everything he has ever done. He inspired me to take cooking classes to make better food for my family. Eating at one of his establishments was on my bucket list but unfortunately at 77 there's no way I will ever be able to realize this and as a senior be afford it. Continued success Gordon and much happiness with your family.
How close is his nearest restaurant? Maybe you could find a way if you got some help to get there and some donations.

Did you see the Kitchen Nightmares episode on Valentines Day when he brought his wife’s photo and sat it on the table where he was eating? It was precious. He was doing an episode (not happy) and he even told her picture that he didn’t want her to see the horrible food he was eating, and turned it around and he would call her ‘my lovely,’ ‘sweetheart,’ it was hilariously precious. He missed her Valentine’s Day, but brought her picture with him. ❤
Gordon has incredible analytical skills. Watching his series for several months, his accessesment of situations is amazing. Truly appreciate him. He's a blessing in so many people's lives❤especially for his kids and wife. Inspirational and so kind, he's all heart and soul.
To begin with, what a great interviewer. He listens intently to every answer and builds on that answer with the next question, then he sums up now and again with the points Gordon has made to move on to the next aspect of the interview. He is also really enjoying listening to Gordon as well. I love Gordon’s how that is based in his own kitchen with his kids helping him out. When his kids are chopping things for example, you can see that he is terrified that they will slice themselves, dad in action. His best show is his ultimate cookery course (the cookbook is excellent) where he is clearly excited to share techniques and knowledge. He literally sort of bounces from foot to foot like a tiger preparing to spring into action. He has had his mum on the show on several occasions and it is clear he loves and respects her. Nice to hear the story of his life which is so inspiring. Overall, a great interview!

Outstanding interviewer , such great questions , intelligent questions , he obviously did a huge amount of homework on Ramsay , brilliant, best interview I’ve probably ever seen and Kudos too Gordon for opening up about his life and what motivates him , I wonder why MPW turned out as such a wayward child , while Gordon’s are so grounded .
