Must’ve been a weight off Daniel’s shoulders when the old S.O.B finally quit this life.

Update weather you want it or not:
Burger kitchen stayed open for about a few months however it slowly reverted back to the old restaurant. The reviews went from mediocre to bad and the burger kitchen closed soon after the episode was filmed.
Another restaurant was opened in the same spot but soon closed down afterwards. Now, a new restaurant is in its place and is striving until this day.
Daniel sued his parents, presumably for the 250,000 and won it.
Finally, Allen saffron died of a heart attack in 2020 aged 70 (I think).
So alan is cooking wager in hell now..
I'm happy for Daniel! Being manipulated, stolen from is horrible especially when they're your parents. I hope he is doing better now. Appreciate the update.

The irony that the owner wrote a book about his dad who wanted to force him into his business, saying that it's "shocking a father would do that to his own son" while having done the exact same thing to his own son, except his son didn't even get the chance to walk out
Like father like son, until son goes a new way
The tragedy is that this situation is very common in our societies. It's a vile circle in which you must break it but given the couple delusional ideas, Daniel should have walked away from them.
@@streetridersss8360 The son should have retained a lawyer and sued his parents for illegally using his inheritance( caused by the father's access to his son's trust fund).
It seems like a straightforward case to win and if the son had been able to go that route right at the opening of the restaurant he would have been saved from so much pain, stress, drama and heartache.
It was always in his best interest to walk away from his parents and cut them out of his life; for his own health and well being.
not really - pretty classic that the abused becomes the abuser
Irony 100
The fact that his father admits to literally stealing his sons money with no regret just shows how utterly dispicable he is, the same goes for the mother too

Best part is when he’s trying to calm the wife and ramsey says “you need to get it together, Alan needs you” and then it just cuts to him chillin and eating, just unbothered 😂
14:05. The look on Gen’s face when Gordon tells David he didn’t do well is mortifying! I know she doesn’t like him, but the sheer delight in her eyes is sickening. That’s her chef! They should be a team

I cant fathom an owner of a restaurant wanting their chef to fail. What a psychopath.
The fact that Alan thinks he's so important that random Yelp users are ganging up on him is solid proof of his narcissism. The fact that he stole $250k from his son and wasted it on a crap restaurant, is inexcusable. The mother couldn't care less, she just needs to feel she's right at any cost. "My son has a great deal of resentment toward me, and I don't know why..."
*MAYBE IT WAS THE QUARTER OF A MILLION DOLLARS YOU STOLE FROM HIM*
HONESTLY THOUFH- I literally had to pause the video just to make sure I heard that right- like holy shit-
Bet he ain’t paid taxes for it either SMHH, leaving his son even more screwed than he already was.
Bitter irony about the book he wrote about his own father lol history repeating itself and no lessons learned
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭
I love that after their "reconciliation" Alan still gave himself all the credit by saying "its hard for a father to admit his faults to his son, and i admitted it" i was in absolutely disbelief 😂
He never admitted to his son he was wrong for stealing his money.
Maybe some undiagnosed npd going on
yeah, this reminds me of my dad. it's crazy how they're all so similar lol@@mynindo_660
@@mynindo_660sometimes people just kinda suck there’s really no need to pathologize everything
As a guy who had problems with a difficult dad, this installment of Gordon's show was the most heartfelt, the most touching one of all. How many tears were shed? Too many. Some were mine.
15:15 "Mushrooms are important to me, im from Poland" idky but that was the funniest line in this episode.
From when the episode was filmed, if she is telling the truth she surely went out into the woods to collect mushrooms as kid because there was nothing else to eat.
I live in Poland and I can confirm that some people here are batshit crazy about mushrooms. For example, there are facebook groups where people post the photos of the mushrooms they picked etc. So yeah.
@@Serah1997 She is batshit crazy period. No shrooms needed
Pretty common in Czech Rep as well. People really enjoy taking trips to a forest and pick mushrooms. But somehow I doubt the crazy lady could even point to Poland on a globe
Kids in Poland learn pretty young how to identify poisonous mushrooms. Cut a piece and taste. Eastern Europeans are crazy about wild mushrooms.
"Daniel, what do you want? What do you want? No seriously, what do you want? Daniel, what do you want?"
*Daniel details everything he wants, even breaking down in tears as he begs for his parents to stop lying*
"dAnIeL wHaT dO yOu WaNt?"
They were convinced they were missing something because, after all this time, they still didn't believe they had done anything wrong by stealing his inheritance. It's unbelievable how deluded those two were.
I love the little post-processing details they throw in like adding slimy sound effects whenever gordon touches the food.
“He treats me like a child and I want to cry.”
The two unsing heroes of the episodes are Chef David and Wendy. David for being a great chef and a great boss to his staff and Wendy for being so protective of Daniel and always combative when his parents did some shit against him.
We need a partner like Wendy. Daniel is so lucky to have her. Also, David's quitting is the best decision he ever had because nobody can't stand work with those old couple who are stubborn.
David was horrible, he threatened someone with violence and made fun of Gen’s son for being wired.
@@TaraCarmelina I disagree. He was just completely sick of being in the middle of the the family feud, and not even getting paid to boot. He was awesome to his staff, so you can tell the guy had it in him to be good, but those people, especially the lady was insane.
@@apreviousseagle836 Na he was a snake in the grass, everytime it looked like he might get the blame for something he'd attack someone else, people like that are toxic for team dynamics.
@@oholmes1701 Well, if you had to work with those crazies he had for a boss, I don't know how you'd fare. He cooked a burger and the boss literally, in real time, wanted to upstage him with his "waguu burger" nonsense. And the "waguu" burger looked disgusting. Medium rare doesn't mean uncooked and raw.
"I stole a quarter of a million dollars from him. I have no idea why he resents me" lol
Australian here... That is NOT an Australian Beef pie. That's dry mince in a pastry. Our best meat pies are slow cooked in seasoned gravy and they are spectacular.
I agree! That thing wasn't at all anything like an Australian meat pie.
Couple things to take from this episode.
•The sons girlfriend is a real one.
•Gen really is a piece of work, I lost it when she started coughing/choking on David’s burger 😂
Gen is also a medium/rare girl
She's only dating him for his money. She worsens his mental state by bickering endlessly with his parents about money. All three see him as a piggybank, Wendy is just a young version of his mother, a drug addict looking for a free ride.
@@kieraneasdon8973mushrooms are important to her shes from Poland
@@PaulieD1984 But she is not that powerfull.
@@Senjinoneand she stole 200k from her son
The way he said “knock yo ass out “ I thought he had a lil black in him 😂😂😂 love it
Lmbo same sis
I NOTICED THAT TOO 🤣🤣🤣
I SAID THE SAMETHING!!!😆😆😆👍🏿
Why ?? Its a white mans phrase and nothing to do with black people other than the fact African Americans also speak English and what is it with you Americans you can't mention anything without mentioning race 😂
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Wow, this is the most emotional episode I have ever watched in kitchen nightmares
"He has been working on uhm.. the *spirit* of getting payed."
How on earth does one come up with that? 🤣
LOL I feel bad for everyone in this situation.... the owners are so out of touch with reality and genuinely feel like theyre just being attacked. The son is clearly traumatized by the familys betrayal and chaos. The poor girlfriend tryna save her mans sanity... and the chef being undermined in his every move. SMH I think this place closed down for the best, I hope Daniel has found his own way.
The hardest part of this episode is the fact that David was clearly the MVP of the whole restaurant. - It's also quite tough watching his cooking being criticised when you can see how much he cares about it.
Why didn’t David produce good burgers then after Gordon tasted it ? They were all part to blame
@@sss63763 because clerly gen is a demensional old shit that wanted him fired also you seen how f uped the whole restaurant was.
@@sss63763 they have to follow owner's recipe for a dinner service.
Nah, the deeper story there was that the family was making do with a pastry chef because they kept driving all the chefs away. Even if the recipes sucked; the bloke was still couldn't ensure the basics like the food being cooked properly. He was out of his depth even though he could cook a decent one-off burger.
@@sss63763as Gordon has said in another episode: if you’re given shit tools to work with you’ll produce shit food. He was working under immense stress and scrutiny of the owners, not being paid properly same as his other chefs, and working with frozen crap burgers. Could he still have produced decent frozen burgers? Probably but the other factors add to the issue.
Man I could watch Gordon do these all day
