Theres nothing better that watching kitchen nightmares while eating mediocre but delicious food
this is THE comment for me
Watching this kitchen, I'd say a can of tuna is far from mediocre in comparison.
I'm eating noodles
I put in the package powder, salt, chicken sauce, sour taste powder, soy sauce, manchurian sauce, vinegar, red Chilli sauce, green Chilli sauce, etc
mediocre and delicious are near opposites.
fine dinning, mmm
The fact that the “head chef” felt the need to insult Gordon before he even met him just shows how insecure he is.
And it shown just how his sheer ego was completely destroyed the second Gordon stapped in the building
He was getting on my nerves every time he spoke or did something

In case anyone was wondering how the restaurant is doing now, they were successful after the episode aired and eventually rebranded to CR Roadhouse. In total they stayed open for almost 7 years and 4 months after this episode was aired, closing on July 1st 2017.
That's a shame; I love Italian food and was considering taking a half-hour's drive up there to try Casa Roma. But nearly 57 years was a pretty good run.

Thanks for the update, I came to the comments exactly for this.

Many people hear Gordon Ramsay's name and immediately associate him with fancy, gourmet food when in reality the man can turn his hand to the simplest and most basic of foods and make it delicious.

Something as simple as Gordon asking what Drew's strengths are in the kitchen really illustrates why I love this show. He's not just taking a cookie cutter approach, he wants to tailor this to what the people involved can succeed with. It shows with his remodels too, where the only two things that show in most of them are embracing the restaurant's heritage and vibrant colors, not just some contemporary trendy look.
I really feel for the owner. She is sweet but knows what she has to do and is realistic. For once, we have a NORMAL owner without experience but willing to do anything to make sure it works out.

My favourite thing about him. He’ll stick his hand in a bucket of raw rotten chicken, pick up a dead rat and taste the most vile looking food.

This episode made me happy. The excitement Gordan had when showing the new look for the restaurant and seeing the new head chef taking his role was great.
I always feel so bad for the servers in these episodes. 99% of the time they have literally nothing to with the problem yet they're the one who has to face the customers and bear the embarrassment
They probably want to quit their jobs because of the embarrassment but can't because they need the money
I feel bad for the waitress at 36:00 because the guy was blaming her for bringing the meal out cold a second time like she cooked it. You could tell she was so embarrassed
well, unfortunately that is how it works, low paying job, very small businesses, and owners are not always sharpest tool in the box.
That is reflected in how chef Ramsay treats the servers. No matter how bad the food is he treats them well most of the time. On rare occassions the servers get rougher treatment for their way of doing the job.

Im halfway through, but honestly it seems like the chefs have given up because there are more orders than they can take care of, they need more people working in the kitchen to actually make sure the food is good.
It seems like the food is shit because they run around serving a ton of tickets between a way to small of a crew.
And of course the chefs seem burned out, and they have let their standards down by being just nihilistic, because of the workload. And even if they dont raise the workload, they have to minimize the menu to make it work.

In an interesting twist of fate, Gordon meets Q who used to work at Sebastian’s (also featured on Kitchen Nightmares) and is now Casa Roma’s Head Chef.
Gordon’s menu has been abandoned and the old menu in place.
There are rumors that the owners have written a number of positive reviews about the place themselves.
Since Gordon’s last visit Casa Roma has been renamed The AV Roadhouse Restaurant Bar & Grill with slim lined menu.
Even though it is the case Gordon is satisfied with the quality of the food, the cleanliness of the place and the improvements in the service.
It is better than when he first got to visit both in the kitchen and in the front of the house.
The original Casa Roma restaurant closed sometime around 2014 or 2015, though there were a series of rebrandings that make it hard to keep track of things.
For a time, there was still a restaurant operating in that location with the same heritage, though a different name.
It was open in 2014 but it seems that there was a shift in the middle of 2015.
A local restaurant Nico’s was taken over and the staff shifted from one place to another.
The restaurant was serving traditional bar food - wings and appetizers.
It was renamed CR Roadhouse and was still open gathering positive reviews on staff, service and food alike.
It seems that the dip in the economy only crippled this place a little bit allowing it to re-surface in the recent years.
However, as of 2022, the CR Roadhouse is also closed.
The old Casa Roma Lancaster, CA location is now occupied by a business named Salon Garibaldi, which seems to do a bunch of events and promotions.

The key to leadership at least in the infantry is that the leaders gain the trust and confidence of their leaders, that leaders supervise what they have tasked their Marines to do, and to set the example so that Marines know that I had never asked them to do anything that I hadn't already done or that they knew I wouldn't hesitate to do.
If you sit in an office and never supervise or inspire your men, you are totally f**ked in peace time and combat.
These owners had no idea what supervision meant and relied on others who they assumed were doing their jobs. That's not the real world works in real life.
Thank you for your service!!

That's so american
Nobody says that to their military personnel outside the US
I'm sure you're hot and hunky 😊
@@varoonnone7159 it’s mutual respect! Does it really matter, where your from??
@@illusive1805
I get your point
I was merely pointing that's it's THE most american thing
No offence !
27:51 the way he says Super Bowl Sunday 😂 complete disbelief
I love how when they are introducing themselves the son said he did "carpet cleaning" Gordan immediately looks down at a nasty carpet😭
The fact it took an hour to serve lunch to one person 😂😂😂 should have been a sign to fire the guy
At most it should have taken at least 10-15 minutes, top 20 minutes max. 6:54
@@jamesfracasse817830 if ur making everything from scratch fresh to order…. The fact it took an hour… plus the fact that the chef didn’t care or see anything wrong with that PLUS the fact that he kept his walk in contaminated and disgusting, PLUUUUUUSSSS the fact he was cussing at the owner and guest and said what can you do and I don’t have time for this when things were sent back…. Dude was a con artist had no business being in a kitchen
Not only lunch, but appetizers. They should take 15 tops, maybe in a very rare circumstance if it's busy and a bunch of tables get seated at the same time it could be 20 minutes, but an hour is insane.
Hello Mr. Ramsey, You already know but I sincerely just wanted to acknowledge it. You really are that good, the good chef. Additionally, I have learned a great deal about attitude from watching you work. For example, you really need to care about your craft, you need to pay attention to details, you need maintain a high level of focus and pay attention to what you're doing and what's going on around you. I've never really been into cooking or have never really aspired to be a chef. But since you hit the network the world of fine food has become a real place, some much so that I'm starting to cook. I've even been considering opening a food truck when I retire. Hard work, more hard work, and even more hard work if done right can be rewarding and fun. Thank you for the inspiration, Chef Ramsey
32:49 the pizzas appear outta no where lol
NOBODY would just say "Ima plumber now"...but waaaaay too many people just open restaurants like its the easiest thing in the world. As if its a lemon-sale-booth on the side of the bloody road!
Yeah, well I just woke up and realized I'M A SURGEON! Now pass me that scalpel thingy!
@@reiyasombaz1143 Yes doctor!
😂😂
Yes restaurant, motels, ... The kind of business people are saying "i will just buy / build it and it will work on his own".
That's the problem with people. They think that, just coz they can cook, means they can run a restaurant.
Gordon Ramsay inspired me to clean my own kitchen to pristineness. The fridge and freezer always spotless and with dated foods. Stove in and out shiny enough to be a mirror. Everytime the fridge is open, it smells like a fresh bakery. Im sure he would be proud
The rest of my home looks like shit
At least there isn't piss on the ceiling, I hope?
@spirit9871 No. Is that you Gordon or just another passersby?
That last sentence gave me a good laugh lmao
baby steps dawg, baby steps
20:18 you're fired .. good job girl straight to the point.
Soooo the cranberry juice guy…. What does he do??😂😂😂😂 I was in every scene😂
GR's willingness to smell literally anything never ceases to amaze me.
That’s what she said
He is asked to dramatise. He will try to make himself recoil etc as it makes for good TV/dramatic 😊
My mom thinks he has ADHD.
@@Genin99I highly doubt that. There’s no way he has that.
Never ever fights with a good chef Ramsay. Be thankful for Ramsay he is there to help all food tastier way to go chef Ramsay and clean kitchen.
I love how the waitress calls it a "Monte Chrisco".
*Crisco
As a person who works in a popular local restaurant (not as a chef) this was pretty shocking we literally clean everyday and just the general vibe is so cool and friendly we chat mess around and still manage to get the dishes out in at most 15 mins
Banter is an important part of a kitchen, I worked at Radisson for a year (luxury hotel chain) and considering all the restaurants were changing to steak and lobster at the time, people wouldn't believe the amount we fucked around in the kitchens, but we knew to concentrate and focus on getting the food out on time.
