I was the same. I thought it was just a gimmick but after playing a few games ( Beat Saber / Vader Immortal / Red Matter ). Surely it’s the future of gaming.

The cardboard "vr" headset you put a smart phone in is the gimmick.

I tried my friends oculus, I bought mine the day after.
I absolutely love playing my Quest. Also my family and friends are all enjoying theirs as well. There's so much value whether it's gaming, fitness, social, watching movies/TV, etc. VR is the future of entertainment!
How's the porn with it?
Love the vibe and coziness of this channel. Reminds me of Christmas time when I was a kid watching tech channels with no troubles and only worried about what I’d get for Christmas. Underrated channel.
I tried it two years ago and was blown away, couldn't stop thinking about it. Just finally picked it up for the kids, I can't stop thinking about playing it. It's just impossible to explain how amazing it is.
You should try population one. It’s the most awesome game in quest.

@@adamkreuz9068 If your into COD, Starwars, Halo or TF2 get ContractorsVR. Basegame is CODvr but theres tons of mods that turn it into Halo, Starwars VR etc
Price has dropped to $349 for the holidays with a bundle of beat saber and resident evil. It’s found at Walmart. I’m super excited for more people to buy.

Stand alone its mostly meh, a few good games, but not enough for the price. Sold it after like 6 months. I'll wait for psvr2 and get some real aaa gaming in vr.
I bought 2 for me and my wife. We love having VR date nights! Walkabout golf, bowling, social rooms in Bigscreen and Horizons. We also use Les Mills Bodycombat for workouts 3 times a week.
I had motion sickness the first week of playing on the oculus the more I played it the more I got used to it and eventually overcame it
if there is one place i can recommend you play is VRchat.
Not only is it one of the biggest community's on the VR platform, its like nothing you've ever seen before.
There is so many things to do in VRchat like explore in-game worlds, create friendships with others, etc.
Nevertheless, i urge you to try VRchat :)
From our experience, the BOBOVR M2 Plus head strap is very comfortable and does a good job taking more pressure off your face.
I bought the both the BoBo M1 Plus and M2 Plus... The M2 is a tad more comfortable... I returned M2 and stayed with M1, you sweat less and sound is much much louder. The M2 hurts the sound travel by half and one must buy an altewrnative for best sound. M1 Plus was my choice but a tough choice.

I loved my Quest 2 so much that my best friend and I are deving a horror experience for the platform right now.
On weekends I play on my oculus quest two for like 6hours at a time😂
5:53 I have a quest 2 and so does someone else I know also my friend has one but one of these two people threw there controller and it cracked rly bad so he thought putting tape on it was good 😂
I thought it was life changing when I got my switch. Imagine being able to play skyrim on the toilet! However with VR it's a whole new ball game. I was genuinely terrified at times playing resident evil 4
I agree, I love the fact that I can use third party company products on this. Bobo vr, kiwi, are awesome companies. I personally have the Bobo vr m2 pro halo head strap. The external swappable battery is amazing. I leave my quest batter around 50% which promotes better life and use most of the heavy lifting on the Bobo battery. Walmart 12 dollar ear buds give me great loud immersive sound. The kiwi extended grip knuckle straps are great. Although I got my headset in 2019 when is was super inexpensive.

VR is one of those things whether your going to love it at first or hate it! I've never really been all that impressed, but of course I haven't had the opportunity to try more premium headsets like the Valve Index! I was more interested in the headphones than the Meta.. lol! Great, quality vid by the way! :D
I went straight to the meta quest pro and had the opposite opinion. The hardware is really slick but the software is shitty short term gimmicks or nauseating barf fests. Got my refund today.
Motion sickness goes away about 1-2 weeks of trying a little every day or other day

I bought a quest 2 because the price was going to go up. The only thing that you have to experience with Meta/facebook is a simple login done once and you can forget it. Not a fan of Meta, but they made some damn nice hardware.
I just ordered a quest 2 yesterday (wouldve got the q3 but its a bit too pricey for me atm) and heard a lot about a pass-through feature where you can play games in your home environment and stuff
I ordered the meta quest 2 bundle with resident evil 4 and its getting delivered in a few days, im hyped,
for anyone watching after june 3rd 2023 its back down in price 300 for basic 128gb and 349 for 256
I have the exact same accessories except from the earbuds😁 I got the quest 2 on Christmas 2020 and I was shocked! I thought only companys had them bc of the headsets where like 1k but not for the quest🤭 It was also the fact that I could play VR anytime I wanted!
I also just got one, and I generally love it. I've only had it for about a week so I know I haven't gotten the full experience in such a short time, but it is an amazing experience.
These were my gripes with it so far:
1) The Meta/Facebook Setup process was absolutely horrific. It's not easy, and I ended up having to make a whole new Facebook account just to get everything set up.
2) Connecting to the Oculus App on PC sometimes works, and sometimes it doesn't. It's not a huge pain, but it could be a lot easier sometimes.
However, the earbuds you jsut mentioned are certainly on my list 👀. You had me at passthrough charging.
Fave games?
Soundcore is a brilliant brand. I’ve had some over ear headphones with great bass, intuitive app with a wide variety of fine tuning, noise cancelling/transparency modes and it’s very comfortable - wear them 3-9 hours a day and they’re the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever had. Got them on Black Friday last year for £55 and they’re still in great shape. Think retail now is around £80 but they feel like £250 headphones. So I’d only imagine, those earphones will be of the same quality

The motion sickness is ur brain adjusting to vr. I played Echo to train for that. I had motion sickness for the first three months, after that, never again. Gotta train ur brain, but it’s possible. Now I have 5hr sessions
Yeah, it takes some time, but it gradually gets better. YMMV, though. It took me about 3 months to be able to play racing games and a year for full fluid locomotion.
Great video review. I’m buying the meta quest 2 because of this review.
A few comments:
1) the new quest pro controllers are, in a way, an incentive to break your quest controllers so you can justify the upgrade.
2) I'm right there with you on the fitness routine. I found upgrading the face plate helpful to prevent excess fogging from sweat.
3) a long charging cable wouldn't hurt. A lot of games or low energy can a charging cable isn't a major inconvenience. For things like beatsaber, I find the battery life plenty for a work out.
I like the music in the end. Nice touch

As a Meta Quest 2 Owner, I can say that no, i wasn't skeptic, i didn't think that VR was evil or anything before buying but i can say...
My purchase was never a regretful one, not once, in a way it has been more beneficial, socially, physically and it may be weird but mentally, there's so so much you can do with it.
To playing Gorilla Tag, to BoneLab to RecRoom even Beatsaber there's a category for every kind of person in my opinion.
Though, i do say, it's no where near something a child should be allowed to use...
Why i say that is cause I have a Middle Finger Scar i got when I played BoneLab smashing a Crablet, and I've heard Kids have broken things with a VR Unit..
In no shape fashion or form, should a child be permitted to use VR it's dangerous.
Just Know VR isn't a bad thing Nor is it evil, you'll never realize it till you try it.
TLDR: VR has so much Content, there's so much to do on VR, in all it's weirdness it's a great item for fun and as a workout, and I kid you not, you'll never regret a Meta Quest 2.
I never had the opportunity of playing VR hope someday I will play it.

My brother got us a Meta Quest 2 for the house and I'm HOOKED! Now I will get my own next month when I get paid. So that we can do multiplayer in the future. :)

im a newer vr user. bought my quest 2 in october 2022, so far, been absolutely loving every bit of it. Blade and Sorcery is my top game i have been playing. Onward and Pavlov here and there. Just bought Vader Immortal Epi 1, Bonelab, Contractors, Blade and Sorcery Nomad on my quest 2 this past Friday. the first 3 games mentioned are bought on steam. I have been playing my quest 2 more than games on my pc lol.
Hear me out: Halo Reach or Halo ODST..... in vr. Or the Halo Series in general in vr. that is my wet dream right there. Plenty of Star Wars content for mods, few Halo stuff as far as i've seen.
I just got mine a few days ago. I have PSVR2 pre-ordered and I just couldn't wait lol. So I bought a Q2. I am so floored and so excited for an ever better headset in February. Love the experience so far!

I Have every single Oculus headset made (Including both DK1 and DK2, and the new PRO), and because of my space I use mostly standalone myself and wireless, but, even I may buy the PSVR2 because the games on that system are going to kick some serious ass, Sony does not play around and it will be years before the rest of us see those games. Also the headset even with the wire, will be a great headset!
@@jeffdeprey6279 It’s really just the type of games I play I need to be able to move around a lot and I don’t know if they give everyone a long ass chord but it’s anything but convenient even if you don’t trip over it.
I’m sure the games will be good but it’s just a disappointment. The price is a bit insane too to still require a chord. If Meta can figure it out so can Sony.
@@adamk6299 Well things first, it is not all about YOU! so to make the comment "it’s basically worthless" was ridiculous. Second, I also prefer wireless VR, but there is a whole ton of people that will not play anything on a compressed wireless signal and on any of the high-end headsets using wireless defeats the purpose of the better screens and PC hardware people have, nothing but a direct HDMI/DP Port works for many VR enthusiasts. I am not one of those people, I like my Quest Pro and think Airplay looks fine for me if I want to play a PC game. The Sony while it does have a wire, will be fine and certainly not worthless.

Honestly the Quest 2 is overrated in my opinion. It’s a great product and all but the Quest 2 has many issues/bugs later on. They usually last about a year maybe even two. For me personally it’s been 4 months when I first dealt with problems. I had friends tell me there’s lasted about 5 months to a year. I’m always having to reboot my quest about twice a day. Some games will lose fps or just crash at times as well. Also the controllers are so easy to break. So it’s good in the beginning but just has many issues later on.

Yeah I remember when I first goty quest 1 and I played that thing for hours my first game I played was dead and buried 2 reloaded. Then tried more games. I've fell in love with VR gaming that I never went back to flat screen gaming stopped using my PS4 3 yrs now and never looked back. I didn't even want to get a PS5. I'm planning on buying quest 3 when that comes out next yr
The quest 2 is indeed impressive. I prefer pcvr since it has more power and has full body tracking. But it’s still an amazing headset

I had it for a week a few years back and returned it. The display is not sharp enough, the pov needs to be better, it needs to be more comfortable and the battery needs to last longer. I said wow for the first few hours but after that I was like what’s the point.. I would rather play a console or computer. I’m still interested in the technology but it needs some major improvements. Just like 3d glasses I don’t see vr ever taking off and to me it’s on the edge of failing…

@@bard2874 For me, being tethered in VR ruins it. I know I’m not the only one that was disappointed they couldn’t make it wireless.
I mainly play games you have to move around in like Thrill of the Fight so at least for me it is borderline worthless. There are people to this day that claim Death Stranding is a good game so definitely not the worst take ever.
