    Thank you for awesome method and explanations.
    In Iran we use Saffron for taste and colour.
    Saffron is extensive but you don't need much plus is very healthy.
    Thanks once again.

    Ok...And the trick to grow large crystals are: start with hot sirup and close the recipient? Needed to be in a dark recipient or can i use a glass botle?
    I have a intire balcony with all kind of crystals recipe restinga, lol.

    • @maro7135
      @maro7135 7 років тому

      You can use scewers yes, and you can avoid flavouring, if you avoid flavouring it will taste like only sugar though

      Kool Aid can also be used to flavor and color your rock candy. Use one package for each cup/thermos/mason jar. Good luck!

    • @victordoes
      @victordoes  9 років тому +1

      Hi! I just places it at a plate in a dry room/larder. I do unfortunately not know how long they last sins all went down the same day they where done. :) But they are just made up of sugar and some food flavor. So a week or more I guess, at least :)

    • @mamabearcher2685
      @mamabearcher2685 8 років тому +2

      Hello, you have to make sure they are dry completely & you can store them either in paper bags or in zip lock bag. pretty sure if they are dried completely they will last Jeez, 6+ mos-yr???? longer??? as long as they are kept in a dry dark cool place, they will last FOREVER LOL IDK But seriously prolly yrs.... Good luck!!!! ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

    • @MsLizRich
      @MsLizRich 8 років тому +1

      Sugar never spoils or rots. So long as you keep the rock candy sticks in a cool, dry place, they will last for pretty much forever. You will want to protect them from bugs that might be attracted to the sugar. I would store the different flavors in different air-tight bags, then store all the bags in a glass jar with a lid.
      I don't add color or flavoring to my rock candy. This way, I can use any leftover sugar solution in my hummingbird feeders.

      Karen Gumangan yes you can use brown sugar. Be careful not to caramelize it any further due to the large amount of molasses in brown sugar. Good luck!
