Love this technique for making meat loaf on the stovetop! We learned to make the Italian form of stretching meat for a meat loaf, which is bread of any kind soaked in milk. The milk expands the bread and you add these bread cubes to your meat - for hard times.

Linda, you did good moving the camera closer to what you're cooking. Then you held it above the meatloaf and we could see inside the skillet. My mom used to cook hamburgers like this when I was growing up but we called them "Oat burgers." LOL It was actually meat loaf patties but we loved them. I used to love putting my pattie loaf on my plate, then mashed potatoes, and green beans. She would almost always have some type of gravy so we could cover our mashed potatoes with it. Love your videos sis.
Thanks Bloom'n, I sometimes shape it into a loaf like I would if I put it in the oven, just not as big and sometimes make it in a thick pattie like I did this time

Hello Miss Linda, I have made meat loaf like that before, but I didn't have an iron skillet. Meatloaf is one of my favorite foods. I have been watching your videos for awhile probably from the beginning of I am not mistaken, I just haven't commented before. I would love to make a little garden like you have, maybe next year.

Excellent Linda!!! I do that too. I also make a skillet of cornbread on top of my stove. Saves $ not heating up the oven!
I cook everything I can on top of stove, cooks quicker and does not use as much gas, doesn't heat the house up as much. LOL
Having more of the sauce is a big plus , on a loaf you only get a bit.
