I love how much inspiration this car has. Instead of picking one z and rebuilding it I am seeing at least 20yrs of inspiration in this car. For example, the light bar and shape of the rear (under the spoiler) reminds me of the 280z, but the tail lights themselves is 300z (z32). The front is vintage Z but the curves remind me of the 350z. As your eyes move pasted the doors the shape turns into z31 inspired.
I love the new supra. But man nissan did a perfect job with this car. I would take this in a heart beat instead of the supra.

Just turned 50 this year. I miss the Nissan of past. Built a 1996 G20, with an SR20VE and I miss i the SR2O dearly. I am definitely in the market for this, with a six speed, as it will keep me fresh, body and mind, as I age.
What strikes me the most is the quoting from the entire lineage of the Z cars, which I adore tremendously. The 240 grille and hood, the 300 modernized tails, the roofline is perfect (provided its not a nightmare inside for visual over sightlines). I've wanted an S15 follow-up for years and years, but this I feel fills that hole to a degree, outside of the price point anyway. We're not in the same world as 20 years ago for the sports car market, so I understand only having the one versus both, but I still wish for more of this in the future.
We are super excited for this car to hit dealerships, and seeing all the aftermarket support kick off! We plan on picking up one for a project car.

Can confirm. Running a Q50 RWD with over 450WHP with only Intake/Exhaust and tune.

If the basics stay the same (400hp, 6sp manual, $50k-ish), I'm definitely a buyer. I sold my R35 (DCT just isn't getting it, and I can live without AWD), I cleared out a spot for it. Now I have to refrain from pulling the trigger on something else, patience.

I am so excited for this car. It's my goal to own this one day
props to Nissan. THis is the first new car that i actually like, and am excited about!! All the bs like tesla with their screens and all modern bs is not for a driver's car or enthusiast. thank god nissan is showing us that a driver's car is still important. also the lines on the car are nice and straight, very classy looking.
I can't wait to own one of these in about 6-8 years. I bought my 09 370 in 2017 with 70k miles and the car has been an absolute peach. Car made 332hp at the wheels just a few months ago with over 100k miles on the clock. And that was with stock headers and cats! Just a Z1 carbon fiber intake, AAM S-Line catback exhaust, Z1 ported upper intake plenum and then tuned with ecuTek at Z1. Car is insane fun with that power and anything else I do to the car will be cosmetics, handling and weight reduction.
Growing up in the 90s, my neighbor had a gray 300zx. I thought it was the coolest car ever. This new one def reminds me of that and now that I can afford one it is a dream..... But kids.......
Love this car. I had a Daytona Blue 350z. Absolutely loved that color and this is very similar, if not the same.

I would also love to see lightweight parts come out for it that fit like stock.

Z1 already makes light weight 2 piece rotors that are 30 pounds less all around and they make a carbon drive shaft and an aluminum one pretty much everything you can think of is made for this car already being that the engine had been in the q50 sense 2016
I hope the Outro never changes, I don't mind the updated pics but the soundtrack and the way it flows is hands down the best on UA-cam!

Even that blue is my fav. color, this is the first blue interior that I actually like, as for the pain.. gorgeous! I hope I can afford it one day.

I have a base model Scion FRS (2013), and while it's not the fastest car out there, it's quick and handles great. Ride comfort is not the best, but it drives like a large go-kart and is fairly practical as a daily driver car. I've had it since 2015 and it brings a smile to my face every single time I get in and hit the road, just such a joy. That being said, having a RWD car in a mostly winter climate of Canada has had it's challenges and draw-backs and that would be the only determining factor for me getting the new Nissan Z, otherwise it has literally everything I could want in an affordable and driver focused sports car, simply beautiful.

I’ve never really been too attracted to Japanese origin sports cars, but this Z just does it for me. It just checks off all the boxes for me and I’ve been saving up for it since it was announced.
Really looking forward to this Z. Such a clean and simple design that will age well.
For what it's worth, the title should be "Poring over" not "Pouring over." To pore is to gaze intently, or to reflect steadily. Pouring is what you do with milk into a bowl of cereal.

It manages to look more mordern and more classic than the outgoing 370Z. It's a lovely looking car
The interior is pretty much exactly the same, though. My '19 370 isn't worth trading in for this, in my opinion

always been a import guy but with v8's coming out fighting with their hellcats scatpacks coyote 5.0's ive been convinced in going to the muscle side of things but man o man the new nissan z has me contemplating of buying this or a mustang gt for sure will be my biggest purchase after getting my wife her dream car
Ah man a v8 sounds great (I'm a straight 6 guy personally) and a v6 almost always doesn't (unless you're Alfa Romeo, best sounding 150bhp out there) but the Z is probably gonna be a lot more fun to drive even if the Mustang takes it in a straight line. Guess it depends on how you wanna enjoy it and the pricing and equipment etc.
So much more car with a Mustang GT. Especially for the $$ with PP, 6 speed and Recarros. Long time STI owner & wanted for a long time a BRZ with STI upgrades yet only RWD. That BRZ never happened but the GT went IRS in 16 and thats exactly what I wanted (just bigger) and bought it. Base GT, 6 speed, PP and Recarros for 35 k. Great car and absolutely loved it. Sold it and plan is a GT350 now. The theory this is still using the old 370 platform is definitely flags. At the price Im sure these are going youd have to be a real JDM fan boi to choose this over a GT. My days of boosted, stressed, pain to work on, smaller displacement days are over. Ill take a V8 capable platform anyday. 👍
I really hope they fix the high temps issue in these VR30 engines. in the Q50-Q60 after just a couple of runs on the dyno the coolant temp skyrockets to 90+ and water to air coolers are almost boiling even with AMS heat exchanger.
All nissian and infiniti sports sedans and coupes are amazing! Love the z family even the infiniti

Crazy how little you know about marketing. It’s been how long since the last z? And how long since the last Supra? Yeah it wasn’t meant to look like it. That would be a horrible idea. '88 dodge shadow turbo had a gauge. Certainly an afterthought because it was more visible to the passenger than it was to the driver.

Factory turbo cars have wide fuel tables. So it's easier to stay within the box and play with exhaust diameter or intakes. I hope anyway.... probably similar to Q50. They will probably have room for classic swaps. Well you won't have to do LED swaps in the digital gauges.
