Thanks for taking us along you two😁
Tim Christi I like watching you looking at show and taking us along keep these coming
God Bless
PaK
Thank you Christy and Tim!
Hey Tim,
Love your vids. Makes me wish I had kept my 2005 JD4320 I bought new when they came out in fall of 2005. Sold it in 2007 in order to retire from AT&T.
Bought a Kubota L2501 w/LA525 loader, Land Pride quick hitch and Land Pride RCR1860 brush hog in Apr 2018. I have a Bolens/Iseki G152 w/40" Howard tiller that I use for
doing jobs around town. Ford LGT-14D w/48" mid-mount mower for doing trail and park lawn mtce. Never can have enough power equipment.
Your videos have a nice down-home, good feeling that make me happy when I'm felling crappy.
Keep up the good work!
TTWT from Tim in SF Bay Area!
Thanks Timothy. Glad to hear we help to make you happy!
Thx for sharing ,we need a 6 series Tim ,stttt Christi can hear us ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Glad to see a gear drive tractor in this size! Definitely will be looking at one of these in the near future
We were there Wednesday and by lunch time, it was so crowded you barely had room to think :D
Lunch time was the worst. By 4pm Thursday, it was nearly empty
Good Video Tim, Keep up the good work, I have enjoy about all your video on youtube about your work
Like the video on The D series 3025D 3035D . Have a good day .
Nice video. On my way to this years show and checking out all of the older videos about it
Cool. We’ll see you there.
Agree 100% about the loader work and using clutch V hydrostat when doing it. That also goes with using the grapple. I would not want to be shifting back and forth doing grapple work. Good video. 👍
Most informative video of the d series on here thank you!
Hey Tim that 3035D is going to top of your Christmas list
beautiful tractor and i love john deere, im videographer and i always filmed JDon the fields in my hometown :)
Very cool to see the 6250R. Lot of power their in a large 6 frame.
Great job enjoyed that
Good video have a good week and stay safe
I like the camera framing. All that green then the giant Kubota logo. ;)
This is part of what makes the farm show fun. All of the manufacturers at one place. Kubota and Deere are right next to each other. Makes it interesting!
great video Tim, I have a 790 gear drive and I love it, much better fuel economy unless running the pto. but definitely not as efficient at loader work. I will take the gear drive any day though, you give and take with either type
I dunno, Johnny. Perhaps a second tractor? I do not want to give up the hydro for loader work, and detail work.
Sounds very similar to the L2501 I purchased last year. I was looking for more capacity than the BX but ended up with a similar price. Probably didn't hurt that I have way more seat time with a gear drive tractor than a hydro. Grew up using a Ford 1910.
I'm guessing there was no sign of a 2-series with factory cab? Still hoping to see that make its way to the states...
Great info 👍🏻
I love the orange signs in the background. LOL
Just head over to the orange side Tim :) :) love your videos.
You can do alot with a large frame 6. Use to operate a 6170r and the IVT is super slick. And you barely hear those tractor noises in a new 6 series super quiet cab as well.
Good job Project Manager
I like it. Will be picking up a 3043D very soon.
Very nice tractor 👍👌😊
Nice video Tim I thought john deer tractors were all made in America learn something everyday thanks Tim
The Compacts are made in Grovetown Georgia .Out of Country Compacts are made in India. Lawn and garden tractors in Horicon, Wisconsin. The AG tractors are made in Waterloo, Iowa. Some big Ag tractors are made in Germany.
This is a much needed gap filler in John Deere line up and with a Gear Drive transmission 👍 and added pulling power, lift muscle, heavy frame sounds like Deere was listening to the market. Great Video 👏
I'm a Ford New Holland man but I have respect for what Deere did in returning to the gear driven transmission.
I was disappointed when they went to just hydro because I have an older compact tractor from deere that just works so great.
I agree completely
Nice video tim and kristie as always ,nice john deeres and i like the one with manual gearbox 👍
How's she goin'? Thanks for introducing this new model!! By the looks of the 'photographers' at the end of the video, it'll be available from the Pacific Rim pretty soon. Doesn't look fair to me but what can you do. Take care!!!
Hi Tim and Christy very nice video and Tractor
NO WAYYYYYYY IM EXCITED. THIS IS WHAT IV BEEN ASKING FOR AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! THANK YOU TTWT AND JD!!!!!
Now all we need is gear drive 2R (Or 2D), 1R(also 1D) and gear drive lawn tractors!
Thank you for the video
Also did you ever find out when it will be for sale?
And on the website so we can customize our own?
1 and 2 series tractors might be too compact to fit a reasonable amount of gears in that chassis. Those tractors are usually for homeowners and for them a hydro is easier to operate. They may not sell well.
@@connorvelthuis2221 I mean yeah, but too compact?.... Nah, they had manual transmissions in lawn tractors.
@@connorvelthuis2221 the 650 and 670, same size as a 1 series were collar shift, but had No synchros. so you stopped and shifted, like tractors from the 50's on up
So Tim: when are you going to open your John Deere Dealership? You're the best salesman they have!
I agree. You have "sold" so many 1025R Johnnys for JD, you should get a commission ;)
Great video!
Looks like a nice tractor!
Shiney green gotta love it
Hey Tim, just curious if these gear drive tractors put more pto horsepower to the back from the engine than the E and R series tractors do? One competitive disadvantage of the small JD tractors is that, often times, their transmissions are'nt as efficient as many of their competitors. I wonder if these gear drive machines will close that gap a little?
I think the 6 series is their biggest seller in Texas too. Idea for Hay and Ranch work.
Great video
That D model looks about like the 790 tractor and I have one of those and it has given me great service even though it has less hours on it than the 3032E model. I love both tractors and have taken good care of both tractors and enjoy the way they both look and operate.
Yes. The 790 was a rock solid tractor!
@@TractorTimewithTim I totally agree and will keep mine until I die. I hope my brother or sister will keep it and continue to use it after I have passed.
Did the PM hint towards availability for the D-3 series tractors? Seems like a great competitor to the L2501 Kubota!
Gear drive is less convenient but you’ll get more PTO HP when compared to an HST tractor with the same engine. The forward-reverse shuttle makes it a little easier to change directions.
This tractor WILL fill a niche in the market. IRON Gearbox, and 8 forward speeds.. Its a workhorse.
I say the 35 or the larger D series as the second tractor for all of the bush hog and tilling jobs/projects. But then that means bigger tiller and bush hog :) I have the 3025E and I have no problem using a bush hog brand 5 foot tiller. The one thing i wish my tractor had like the D series is everything is painted green instead of black like frame, lift, etc. After having a hydro transmission there hasn't been anything I haven't been able to do with mine that i personally would have to have a gear drive for and the ease of use on the hydro is a lot nicer just having to switch from one pedal to the other. Another great video from my favorite UA-camr. Btw I'm about an hour from Martin county NC so go Tarheels!
The GREEN is due to the fact that the gear case is heavy CAST IRON... The black ones are Aluminum..
Formula Firebird yea I know they have different rearends. But that shouldn't be a factor for paint. Just my opinion the all green looks better
We literally walked right by this tractor and I didn't even notice it was the D series. So many people around it I couldn't see the model number. Going to be trading my 2038r within the next week or two, but going to a 5045e this time. Need more lift capacity than I can get in the 2 or 3 series, and I can't justify paying that much for a 4 series tractor. This would make for a great secondary tractor to have around tho.
My father in law has a 5045e 2wd and he loves it. It is really strong. You will be happy
@@ericvortecmax I priced the 2wd with a loader and was really considering it. I grew up using only 2wd tractors on my family's farm so I was used to how to get work done with one. But my wife convinced me to go ahead and get the MFWD with a loader. That way I should be content for many more years.
2wd 5e series are built in India. Put on a ship and final assembly is in Augusta GA. Mahindra Brothers Plant has their line and a JD line. LS builds NH Boomer series. Food for thought.
@@michaelbaumgardner9493 Thats right, there are some unhappy campers here on you tube with the 5E series. mostly leaks due to poor quality rams and or seals.
Mean Green, ty for sharing
Tim you need to sell merch. I would totally buy a TTWT Shirt or hat 😍👍🙌💙 Watch you and the family alot!

Thats a nice new model
Love ya Tim but I wouldn’t have told that about the foot throttle pedal with name tractor Tim lol
u forgot to mention it-but that model D tractor looked like it to me, it had a reverser on the dash, left side of steering wheel. my dad's little jd dozer made in the 50's had the same thing, u just had to push the clutch in oh first, but u could back up in whatever gear u had the tranny in. was great for like backing up to the logs, to pound the grabs into the logs, as first gear was slower than the reverse gear was. nice looking machine. my how jd has changed the models since 2006 when i bought my 2520 then.
Yes, that is how the reverse works on this tractor. Did I not mention it? Oh well.
Sounds like the 3043d will be good for yall tractor time with tim
there about $50,900 cad price wich is pricey for a compact tractor
The 3D series are definitely not $50,900 CDN, Michael.
@@TractorTimewithTim the 3d I test drove u don't have to press the clutch in to go from forward to reverse
@@TractorTimewithTim No mention about a Backhoe?
When i worked for john deere i heard there doing away with the 7R since the 6000 series meets up with the 8000 series
Tim, something we have discussed and I know we disagree on. But, I think the E series and D series John Deere are some of he best value for dollar in the market today.
Well, I’m coming around. I’ve been put off by the non removable loader, but many folks say that they never NEED to remove the loader. So maybe this is no. If deal.
@@TractorTimewithTim I edited to add D Series which I have not heard you express an opinion on. What I am talking is bang for buck. If you just have five or ten acres in the country and are not going to work for anyone but yourself they should hold up fine.
I don't really have an opinion on the D series yet. For loader work, the E would be nicer for sure.
...but a Gear drive will definitely get more power to the ground.
@@TractorTimewithTim I have had 6 compacts from New that all had removable loaders. My 2018 3E doesn't, and I do not mind a bit. I actually never removed any of those 6 tractors loaders, and I did a lot of driveway, ditch, drainage and lawn reconstruction.
David, could you contact me via email: tim@tractortimewithtim.com? I have an opportunity to discuss with you.
Thank god there’s still a compact utility tractor with direct drive!
I saw you at the tractor show Friday.
Did you stop to talk?
Awesome big boys toys. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
It makes sense now.
Being a synchromesh transmission, does that mean one can upshift sequentially trough the gears in a given range without gear grinding? I like the power reverser for loader work. Plus greater efficiency (HP) and reliability with a gear transmission. Not to fond of gas tank position though. Hope it doesn't interfere with a backhoe attachment. I like how the gas pedal, clutch, brakes and gear shift are positioned like a car! Makes it a lot easier to control throttle when you only have one hand to shift and control throttle as on older machines. My 1971 Ford 3000 is cumbersome. Another plus for this tractor is the cast iron rear end if true from another post on here. I want one! Curious if you can update the seat to an air seat and an R series loader with heavy duty bucket. The rear optional CSV valve mounting looks a little chintzy. When will JD release pricing and open sales? Are these made in Canada or USA?
I would prefer the gear drive with shuttle shift and individual brakes over hydrostatic anyday. Shuttle shift is perfect for leaders. Every backhoe I've operated was shuttle shift gear drive.
I think all lawnmowers should be clutch/gear drive. It was always exciting in the neighborhood when a 12 year learning to mow crashed into his dads new oldsmobile.
Then even your little 21" Walmart beater Murray would start at $500. It all costs money.
I thought the same, its unusual. But the 6250R/6230R are popular here in germany!:) And thanks for this video about the 3D series, I think many people at GTT (me included) were waiting for your review!:)
Just posted to the 3D thread at GTT.
@@TractorTimewithTim ah you´re right, seems to be pretty popular at GTT, what is your opinion of the 3D?
Haven’t had time to develop an opinion yet.
The 3d still looks smaller than my mt225 ls tractor and I just bought my first John deere it's an old 1010 about 35 to 40 horsepower I think looks ok need to paint it but it runs and works very good
This video makes we want to go outside and wash my tractor. Too bad its dark and below freezing:-(
Are there any changes to the 2025r for 2019? Did they have one at the show with the factory cab on it. That 6250 is bad to the bone!
Great video you should get the tractor and give ketriel Johnny
Tim did you see any series 1 , Mauser cabs for backhoe use?
no. Saw no cabbed compact Deere tractors.
So true about steeling technology. Back in the 90's when I was a young hardware engineer, somebody from China found a way to call me directly, then offer me all sorts of things that I can't put in print if I'd come over to China and talk about our the design of our product. Later we hired someone who the FBI eventually arrested for stealing intellectual property and sending it to China. His previous job was at Bell Labs, so who knows what he got from them.
Finally, my 850 is cool again with that transmission!! lol
The 6r the number means eng horsepower that tractor has enghp of 250 with a possible boost up to 300 for a short period of time pto horsepower is generally 20 - 30 percent less of the number on the hood
It takes a lot of power to run the hydraulic fans on a 75 foot airseeder
There are some other advantages to gear drive vs hydro
1. Less flywheel to pto power loss.
2. Possibly longer useful life if used hard for loader work etc.
3. When operating in close quarters, delicate work, with workers on ground nearby, we find communication is easier with the gear drive.
This is because we run the gear drive at an idle in this situation and it works fine.
With the hydro, it has to be revved up some to work properly.
Small thing maybe, but it can make a big difference in safety.
For general ease of operation in loader work the hydro wins.
Fuel economy is good too... Great Post Glen !
I noticed on the 30D display model that the tractor had both telescopic draft links in combined use with an I-Match Hitch. I was under the impression that they were incompatible.
They are tight fit. Rub on my 3R
Did you order one
So is the new 3d also a clutched PTO? Heard they may be using a love PTO like our 1 series on some of the newer mechanical tractors. If so that would be pretty cool.
Everyone uses a live PTO now.
Nice tractors!! Not sure I'd like the floor throttle but then again I can't afford one.wow that's crazy about the Asian spy's. Great video!
Pretty much all gear transmission tractors have a foot throttle. Nothing new.
GOOD JOB Mr Tim do you have any more video s from the show ?
Yes
@@TractorTimewithTim good
synchro and shuttle.. wow
Lot less HP loss that the E has.. Power to the ground !
Did Rural King have tractors there? If so did you like them?
I’ll leave the RK tractors to Mike Morgan.
It's about time they make a gear utility tractor. Almost bought a mahindra just to get gear. Couldn't do it. Got a 4r Deere with hydro so wifey can plow snow or mow when I'm on the road.
Hello, Do you have a video out discussing the 3D series tractors and the type of PTO they have? Live, Non Live, independent etc. and how they work. Thx
Non live. Not even a 2 stage clutch.
@@TractorTimewithTim Thank you! Was planning on purchasing a 3D series until you confirmed the PTO type. JD needs to address this. Thanks again.
@@chetbright70273D is the worst Deere tractor in the entire lineup.
Nothing positive about it in my opinion.
Thank you for the feedback!
I really miss gear drive tractors!! I hit the max load on my 1025R using low range and it just squalled and stopped. Kinda surprised me actually because I figured the pressure max would be a bit higher. So I fired up the old 1953 Farmall Super A and jerked that stump loose like walking the dog. Considering old " Clide" the Farmall only has around 16hp its all about the gearbox. It kinda revived my interest in fixing ole Clide up some....maybe a new coat of red paint and a new 3 point hitch. Ole Clide could pull 3 Johnnys tied together lol. A 3 point and a front dozer blade would turn Clide into a real useful machine. Sadly he has just been gathering dust in the metal barn for several years now.
Super A is awesome tractor. The lowly cub didn’t have quite enough HP. The super A was just right!
There might be some confusion. I don’t get how the Super A pulled out the stump and the 1025r didn’t. The 1025r has almost twice the HP? Can you please explain this to me?
Gear drive tractor can transfer more power to the ground. ...and it is probably heavier than 1025r...so better traction.
Tim the last 3 digits in the model number are the engine rated hp not the pto hp this machine the 6250R is capable of pushing 300 hp with power bulge and intelligent power management (ipm).
He is correct. When Deere switched their model designations to include the HP it has always been engine HP not PTO.
Yes, I was incorrect in the video. It is Engine HP.
I wonder if the D has an aluminum rear housing like the E....
Discussion on green tractor talk.com indicates it is cast steel
Aluminum is fine. Everyone who has a 3e is very satisfied!
@@chasetemple3129 real tractors don't have aluminum structural members.
Bonito 🤗
Don't kid yourself you need a 6 series tractor never have enough tractors LOL
Maybe it's because I am european and that's what I grew up seeing but the 6 series is really the best looking tractor across all sizes (and that's even more personal but across all brands) the proportions are very aesthetic. The smaller ones look nice but a bit goofy with a bigger hood in proportion and so does the 8 and 9 series.
It makes a compact tractor feel like a big tractor.
That 6250 sure is pretty. go broke or go home with that one. Need there secret for getting that shine on their tractors. Hope to see more videos from the show.
Hey Tim,can you back up about 50 feet and show me what is new at the LS display ?
We didn't spend any time in the LS booth, sorry.
I can guess what is there...
Tractors with more standard features that are less expensive by a large margin.
@@heavymetalmechanicX Too bad the little LS doesn't have something like the JDQA system. I was seriously considering an LS but not being able to put forks on the front killed it for me. Would have had to get a bigger tractor for the SSQA, but I didn't want that big of a tractor. I do like the LS stuff though, especially for the price.
@@suburbantractor9125
I guess I didn't realize the small LS models don't have a quick attach. I'm looking in the 40-55hp range for myself. In a tractor this size, the JD proprietary quick attach is a major turn-off for me.
HeavyMetalMechanic80 HeavyMetalMechanic80 yeah, with that kind of lift capacity the SSQA isn’t going to hurt. Be sure to shop around, there were huge price differences between LS dealers. The LS forum on TractorByNet was very helpful.
👍
So Fendt is building a tractor for John Deere in Germany?
Where are the smaller ones made?
Compacts and sub compacts in Georgia, Lawn equipment in Horicon, Wisconsin.
Only thing I don't like is the fuel tank. I could see your tire picking up a stick and possibly puncturing the tank or if you are brush hogging and it kicks something back at ya. (I've never had that happen but I don't like plastic tanks and especially exposed tanks. ) but it looks like a great tractor
2LateIWon/Organized Chaos metal tanks can rust and rust can end up in diesel.
I have this tank, the textured poly is very rugged
I see a D series tractor in Tim’s Future. Come on finance committee!
Good thing you got that big barn to store all these new tractors you will be getting while the finance committee is sleeping
Shh! You might wake her!
I heard you both. Not sleeping!!
@@TractorTimewithTim you heard nothing Christy. It's all in your head. Tim, I think she's going loony😅
Also, it’s not flat! 😜
So Tim, what factory makes the D series?
I’m not sure, Wayne.
I have a 8n
... and you should keep it, even if you buy something else.
