My dear Anja💕…I want to inform you that this shawl is AWESOME 🤩👏🏼🫶🏼. Because of this easy, quick pattern, I currently have 3 WIPs going of Agatha’s reading shawl…all in different colors, yarn size and hook size. They are all turning out beautifully ❣️ Thank you Anja for treating your subscribers to your incredibly gifted crochet style and ability. You are my go to gal for any project that I can look for with satisfaction. And….you speak your tutorials at the PERFECT timing so I can always CAL with you!! Much love and appreciation to you and your happy hubby Dirk.💕💋🤩❤️ LeeAnne😊
A month ago I wrote to tell you I really appreciated you sharing your art with us. In the last four weeks I have made two shawls one for my friend Jill who is turning 80 and one for me! However my youngest daughter came up to our house with her two boys for the weekend and apart from raiding the garden and my preserves (of course I don’t mind) but my shawl went back to Auckland with her so now I am onto my third. You did really inspire me!! Thank you xx❤
I keep messing up the corners, and have tried 3 times. It’s beautiful, I won’t give up. I just keep rewatching, and have at last done 4 sets of rows and it looks right now. Only been crocheting 6 months and am 70 years old, so an old newbie to crochet. It’s stunning, can’t wait to complete it. Thanks.
Thanks for the tip. I still keep messing up and have asked a friend to help me. Is there an increase of 2 stitches either side on each row. I keep getting different number of boxes down each side now. I’m counting it all the time and making notes but each side doesn’t match. I’m still here, still trying…..😂
@@janeh4664 You put 2 dc in the first stitch at every row. You also put 2 dc in the last stitch of the row. I know what you mean because I messed mine also because of this missing stitch on the beginning and the ending of each row. My counts were off. Now I double check and it is right now that I make sure I put 2 dc in the first and last stitch of the row. Hope this helps you get your counts right from now on.
Thank you so much for all your hard work in providing this lovely shawl pattern! And I really love that it doesn't have that l.o.n.g. point at the bottom. The shape is much more graceful and lovely!
I decided to make my 93 year old mother a shawl since she is always cold. I made a triangular shawl but wasn’t quite satisfied she would like it. I just watched this video and am taking the first one apart and making yours. I think this is exactly what she needs. Thank you.
HI, BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL. YOU'RE RIGHT ABOUT NOT HAVING ENOUGH SHAWL TO COVER YOUR ARMS AND FEELING COLD. I LOVE THIS PATTERN. THANK YOU FOR SHARING.

I am making this shawl with Caron Simply Soft I had in my stash. I'm loving this pattern. It is so easy and mindless crochet. Thank you for this tutorial.
I was wondering about this. Can you tell me if you did some more rows to make it large enough? I'm a plus size too and was thinking it should be ",doable".

Dear Amanda, I tried the shawl on again, it does not hang right on me and I am a 1X size, it slips of and I still think it is snug, I just wanted to make sure you knew this❤️
@helenrieck2343 I think in the beginning, you would have to add more stitches to the back row. Instead of two, I'm thinking 6 or 8, for me. I will try and see how it goes.
Thank you for sharing this pattern. I made myself a triangular shawl but the wind whistles under my armpits!! Not nice at all. I am nearly 80 and with advancing age and a touch of arthritis I need to be warm in the winter. This is exactly what I need. Many thanks from Angie in New Zealand ❤❤

Thanks for the wonderful instructions. I found it by chance and am currently crocheting it. My English isn't that good, but I understand everything and can crochet the shawl very well. Warm greetings from Germany
I’m so excited. I’m a companion to a 95 year old lady who is a ferocious reader. I can’t wait to make her one of your reading shawls. You are such a good teacher. I just found you today.
I absolutely LOVE this pattern! Do you have any suggestions for yarn substitutions that would achieve the same *feel* as the Stylecraft? It's difficult to get Stylecraft here in the US, and I don't like to order online -- especially not overseas -- because I need to feel the yarn in person (I have Sensory Processing Disorder). I'm currently trying this pattern with a soft cotton (3 Weight) as well as an acrylic (4 Weight), and so far both seem like they're going to be nice results, though the acrylic is not as soft as I'd like and may not have the proper drape. I'd just like to achieve something closer to the original. EDIT: It looks like Lion Brand Landscapes may be a close match, though I haven't tried it yet.
@@OpheliaTalks I was just hoping for suggestions for yarns that are similar to Stylecraft Impressions, which I could then do a search here to see what's available. Aran weights are not as common here unless you go to the LYS and buy pricey hand-dyed wool hanks, and I can't wear wool. Worsted will give a lighter, less warm result. Guess I'll keep looking.
Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. You’re a wonderful teacher. I purchased your pattern, and I’ll be searching my yarn stash for the perfect yarn for my reading shawl. It’s beautiful and perfect for reading. ❤
Have made this beautiful shawl, thank you so much. I have been unwell with covid and it has given me focus during the past week. I am so happy with it. And such an easy pattern to follow as well. I used stash to make it and i will be making again with the recommended yarn. Thank you again Anja xxx

Have nearly finished my shawl in pink style craft from my stash, on row 60, but I'm tall and will need to do 10 more rows I think. But it's so warm on my knees whilst I'm crocheting, it will double up as a knee blanket. I love it and can't wait to finish it. It's been a delight to craft whilst recovering from a bad back unable to walk much. Thank you Anja.
I found your tutorial as I was scrolling around on you tube looking for a crochet project. When I found this video I knew I HAD to make it. Thanks for the wonderful instructions. I found it by chance and am currently crocheting it. My English isn't that good, but I understand everything and can crochet the shawl very well. Warm greetings from Germany
Thank you for watching, and I hope you will love making your shawl, Anja x
Love this😍simple and totally practical, can’t wait to make it💜
Have fun Nicola! Thank you very much, Anja x
I’m so excited. I’m a companion to a 95 year old lady who is a ferocious reader. I can’t wait to make her one of your reading shawls. You are such a good teacher. I just found you today.
Wonderful! Don't forget to subscribe, there are over 1K videos of blankets and wearables.
I'm sorry kj3d812, I have no idea what they sell in the US. Thank you for watching, Anja x
Thank you so much, I hope you will enjoy making it, Anja x
Love this!! That yarn looks as beautiful as the shawl pattern! Thank you for the tutorial!
You are so welcome shawncrafty! Thank you, Anja x
Have made this beautiful shawl, thank you so much. I have been unwell with covid and it has given me focus during the past week. I am so happy with it. And such an easy pattern to follow as well. I used stash to make it and i will be making again with the recommended yarn. Thank you again Anja xxx
That's great Lee, I'm glad you're feeling better, thank you, Anja x
I hit the subscribe button 46 seconds in because you've shown me the shawl at its work on a real live person . It's beautiful.

❤I have been crocheting since my late mother taught me at 9 years old. I am 69 now. Am making my third one now. I love this simple pattern. No frills but so beautiful and works up very fast. Thank you from Cleburne Texas in the USA.
That’s a lot of crocheting! Thank you for watching Anja x
I used your tutorial and made one. I love it! I used puzzle yarn from Walmart. It was super easy and fun for a first wearable.
Wonderful! Anja x
I finished my reading shawl and I LOVE IT. This pattern was so easy and relaxing to crochet. Going to make another one in a different color! Thanks for sharing this wonderful project.
You're most welcome stageluvr91, thank you, Anja x
Have nearly finished my shawl in pink style craft from my stash, on row 60, but I'm tall and will need to do 10 more rows I think. But it's so warm on my knees whilst I'm crocheting, it will double up as a knee blanket. I love it and can't wait to finish it. It's been a delight to craft whilst recovering from a bad back unable to walk much. Thank you Anja.
Well done Mary, sorry to hear you're laid up with a bad back, such a good reason to crochet though!! Thank you, Anja x
I was thinking about the same thing...I'm 5'10
I found your tutorial as I was scrolling around on you tube looking for a crochet project. When I found this video I knew I HAD to make it. First because it is so beautiful and second because I am currently reading thru a collection of 35 Agatha Christie books that were gifted to me! I made the shawl and I love it! The pattern was fun to make and so cozy. Thanks for sharing
Oh what a lovely coincidence, hope you enjoy your reading and crochet time, Anja x
Thank you so much for such beautiful pattern
I have already made 3 shawls
Thank you
Wonderful! Thank you for making my project, Anja x
This may be my favorite shawl pattern ever. I used a jumbo skein of Big Twist Light Grey and I’m in love. This will be a gift but I’m planning to make more with Toni Lipsey’s Happy Place 😊
That sounds wonderful, l'm not familiar with that brand, but l'm sure it will be lovely marshallmays8171, thank you, Anja x
