If any one is having trouble finding the true last stitch in each row, just put a stitch marker in the first stitch in each row you start, and in the very last stitch in the row. Move the markers up into the new first and last stitches as you go. Now you will know exactly where your last stitches are in each row. Less stress and easier counting.
Finally an easy shawl that doesn’t have so many holes or spaces. I’ve looked for a few “easy” ones and they weren’t. You’re directions are clear and such a great teacher.
I'm about to give up on crochet because nothing ever turns out no matter how hard I try but after watching this video you give me confidence to try again.... Thanks for this! Cross your fingers for me! I need all the good vibes I can get on this one lol
I made this shawl and love it, and am making my second one now, but I have modified it slightly to make it fit and wear a little better. For the first 10 rows, at the start and end of each row, instead of doing an increase of only one stitch in the first and last stitch of each row, do an increase in the first AND SECOND stitches and the last AND NEXT TO THE LAST of each row for the first 10 rows. This makes the center of the shawl very gently curve, when wearing the shawl, this is the part that goes around the neck. By doing this slight curving around the neck, it forms the shawl so that it lays nicer around the neck and the shawl will wrap beautifully over the shoulders and stay in place better and more naturally. It’s a simple modification, but works beautifully. I am making several shawls for Christmas gifts out of Red Heart Heat Saver yarn, which I think is going to make some warm shawls, but this yarn has a lot of body, so I think forming the neckline is going to be even more important with this yarn so the wearer is not constantly having to fight the shawl to keep it in place.
Hi Vickie: I just finished my 12th row & I can see that I have a slight upper curve, behind the neck, which looks odd. If I tear it out & try your method, I’m wonder if it would work on a lighter yarn. I’m using a Mandala #3. J.
Tried your method & it made such a difference behind the neck. I also decided to change the centre, from 1dc, 1tr, 2sc, 1tr, 1dc; To: 2dc, 3sc, 2dc. It just made a slightly larger eyelet. But I do love the pattern! J. W.
Trying to do the shawl and really want to try Vickie modified so it lays easier but I'm not really understanding...im still a beginner to crochet and having a hard time following....if anyone can explain, I would really appreciate it...thank u
@@bethhigdon8304 let me try to help. You know how Tiffany puts 2 double crochets in the very last stitch? Instead, put 2 double crochets in the last 2 stitches, chain 2, turn, put 2 double crochets in the first 2 stitches (back loop only) then proceed with one double crochet in each stitch. Basically to “increase” you put 2 stitches instead of 1 in a space. This should curve the neck upward. I just wanted mine straight across and in order for this to happen, I had to modify by putting 2 double crochets in the last 2 stitches (end of each row) chained 2, turned work, and then proceeded with just 1 double crochet in back loop of each stitch. For some reason, when I followed Tiffany’s pattern, my shawl curved down. There are tutorials out there on how to increase, if you’d like to actually see it. Hopefully this made sense and wasn’t too confusing. Good luck!!
This is hands down one of the most straightforward and easy to follow tutorials I've ever seen. I'm so glad I found you and thank you for making crochet accessible to us n00bs!
Best and easiest shawl pattern I have found. I have searched and searched. Thank you for actually having a beginner friendly tutorial. First one done and more to go.
I love this! ❤ I’ve recently gotten two of my girls wanting to crochet. My youngest has shown interest a few years ago. Now my oldest is trying her hand at it since finishing college. I’ve directed her to your page to follow. I feel like you’re very thorough in your descriptions and easy to follow. Thank you so much.
Thank you for this tutorial. I'm currently crocheting this shawl pattern for my daughter using Red Heart in Zebra color, she only likes Black, but I talked her into the Zebra color!! This is now the way I will be crocheting many more shawls that I need to make for my family and friends. Again, Thank you so much. God Bless you and your family, always!!
I saw this the other day and fell in love with the finished product. Picked up a couple of Jumbo Super Saver skeins in a variegated purple and white so I can make one for myself. It’s been a really chilly winter, here, and having one of these to wear? How cozy! Thanks for this!
I just happen to have 3 skeins of showtime on the way with no idea what I was going to do with them, I just loved the color. I’m new to crochet and I’m absolutely making this! Thank you!
Thank you sooooo much, i have watched endless videos looking for a tutorial that is easy and straightforward, omg, this was so pleasurable and enjoyable!! ❤
I keep coming back to your videos, i wish i could have this video on super save, i have looked at other videos and cannot get started but your tutorial i flow, honest to god, i cannot thank you enough!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Thank you!!!! I have seen other people try to teach this shawl and for some reason it just didn’t click. Then you come along and it fit like the perfect glove. I have hope Yay!!!! So great full.
I just finished this project with Lion Brand Wool Ease thick and quick yarn and I now have a nice heavy, warm, easy shawl!!! I loved making this and it went so quickly!!
I finished my shawl in 7 days and absolutely love it!! I am starting a throw with one of your patterns using blanket yarn. It's going to take awhile and had I known I would have used the 2 strands shown in your tutorial. It with still be gorgeous though. Thank you again for all your help!!
You are incredible for having kids full time & working/filming such high quality video! Gorgeous shawl, I’ve got a caron cake that I needed a pattern for and this looks perfect.

Chain 2 at the beginning but ignore the chains and 2dc into the beginning stitch. Mark the first DC and crochet into that, not the chain (this is infinitely easier). DC under both loops on the first and last stitch of every row for a nicer top of the piece. Great, easy pattern!

Super simple and easy! I love how you explain each step and not just throw the terms there like everyone knows what they are!! I'm gonna make this shawl for my grandma, but I'm using different yarn and hook size yet it looks pretty so far! thank you for this pattern!
Please, I must tell you, you should never glue knots or any part of a knit or crocheted project. Always weave in ends so they don't come out with wear or washing. You don't want to go through making a beautiful garment and have it come apart. 😊

You, my girl, are awe-inspiring! I always have planned to do a shawl and never do them. I do sweaters or something else. Watching this tutorial, I realize that I had been intimidated by them. I’m so glad your videos popped up in my feed, your tutorials and great patterns are going to keep this experienced crocheter busy! Plus I love to find another hooker who holds their yarn the way I do. ✌🏻👍🏼🧶❤️
Hey that’s really cool! Thanks for pointing out we hold the yarn the same. I’m so glad my tutorials interest you! I have so many more coming! It’s really exciting 😁
I just finished making this shawl. I love it! Wonderful for snuggling on the couch or in bed. I can see taking it to the beach for when the sun starts to set or using on a plane as a blanket. Useful as well as stunningly beautiful. Love the yarn. I used the exact same yarn in showtime with the harvest maize tassels as you did. Didn't want to be a copycat but I loved the look you created. I might make a few more in other colors of this yarn for Christmas gifts. Very happy. Thank you.
Hi Victoria! I am so excited you made this shawl and are loving it! You can copy me all you want. I take it as a compliment. 😄 If you do make this shawl in other colors I would love to see them. I have a private Facebook group called "I'm Hooked For Hope" where people share pictures of things they have crocheted. You could share your pictures there or email me at HookedForHope@gmail.com. 😊🧶🧡
Currently making this and im in love. Will be changing it up in the end but its looking beautiful so far. I end up using mandala ombre mantra. Beautiful blues, teal, with some white. I'm going to use a white and white with glitter look in the fringe. I'm excited!!!
Hi Hope! That sounds gorgeous! Love the idea of the white and white with glitter look in the fringe. I'm excited you're having fun and loving how your shawl is turning out. 😊🧶🧡
So pretty. I’m in a church prayer shawl group and I’m so tired of the same old pattern. This is just the thing to make crocheting fun again. Thank you for this and all your beautiful work.
Thank you for sharing this. I'm now making two in different colors for my sister's birthday. I love that your instructions are so easy to follow, and the finished shawl looks so elegant. :-) Thank you! Keep up the good work!
Hi Alma! I am so excited for you to make this shawl! It is so much fun. If you can please send me a picture of your shawl as you are working on it. 😊🧡🧶

Since the chain 2 is a stitch then that is my last stitch to put 2 doubles in??

Hi Peggy! Welcome to my channel. So glad you found me! Wow, I am so excited to have you make this shawl. I hope you have fun. 😊🧡🧶
hello, I just wanted to say this will be one of my favorite patterns. Its truly a simple and beautiful pattern. thank you.
Really nice shawl. Thanks for showing us how it's done . It will be in my do list . 🥰🥰
I really love every pattern you show us! So easy and uncomplicated. Thank you so much! ❤️🧶❤️

Hi Hope! That sounds gorgeous! Love the idea of the white and white with glitter look in the fringe. I'm excited you're having fun and loving how your shawl is turning out. 😊🧶🧡
Just started this pattern.Love how it's looking with a Caron Skinny Cake. Thank you😊
So pretty. I’m in a church prayer shawl group and I’m so tired of the same old pattern. This is just the thing to make crocheting fun again. Thank you for this and all your beautiful work.
