The only oppressed community regarding hair is black people’s hair. So stop crying thanks.

I feel like in every single one of these videos by 2010's they try to make it seem like in the modern age everything was perfect and all beauty standards are gone but unfortunately that's just not the case. The popular style of curls now is just waves with straight bits at the end. Am I only person who thinks this? I might be wrong its just my opinion.
Alicia Patnelli yup totally wrong curls is when your hair is plum and curly wavy hair not curly at all it has no volume like curly hair. And as we are in the 21st century curly hair is finally shining
@@caij8456 yeah, I feel like overall, sticking to your natural hairtype is being encouraged, even with people on the 4 spectrum. There is a general trend towards more wavy hair on the straight end of the spectrum, the flat ironed styles from the 2000s are definitely gone. But it's not like you're gonna get shame for having just really straight hair, it's just not super fashionable and with just a bit of work put in you can usually get something resembling texture in there.
Alicia Patnelli I don’t think beauty stands are gone, but I think beauty has a lot more variation. Like how many many many different colors of lipstick are trendy. People can wear different colors and patterns and styles and still be curly
Sierra Maria, they call our natural curls frizzy and damaged. I came from one of those surprise makeover videos. A mom had long naturally curly hair to her waist. Stylist cut it above shoulders and flat ironed it. There was so much ignorance in the comments section. They were calling all her hair damaged. Only the very ends needed to be trimmed. The mom also needed to learn how to style her hair and do hair treatments to protect her ends. What amazes me is that the mom said she doesn’t have time for herself. Why give her a style that looks good only straight? She won’t be flat ironing it every day.

Most of these comments are about how they thought this was about curly hair but it wouldn’t make sense to talk about the styles of curly hair throughout the century because think about it if these were natural curls it’s not like it follows a style because you didn’t choose to have these type of curls at that certain time so it doesn’t really follow a trend because it’s natural
sinistella These are not large budget videos, to find a woman with this type of hair would take a lot of time and money. No where in the title it said "Natural". This video is just for representation. When they make documentaries on people, they don't bring in the same person. There are many factors. 1. They don't want to cast 2. They don't know how to act 3. They are dead. This video is for representation. I'm sorry if I portrayed myself a bit passively aggressive. Have a good day. 😊
The 2010s curls are pretty much my hair 24/7. That, and when Frizzy, it's the 70s curls. I have biracial hair, so I definitely have the 70s curls girl's hair.
Surprisingly I find that afro on the 1970s model very appealing. I don’t usually like them but she pulls it off perfectly. I also like the 1950s poodle style 👍

God I love curly hair! The bigger and curlier the better! My hair inspiration as a child was Fran Drescher in The Nanny. And black girls look so stunning with their natural hair. I now keep my hair quite short so it stays curlier because if I let it grow long it goes more wavy
I got really excited because I thought this was going to be about how girls wore their naturally curly hair. I was then disappointed because naturally curly hair of all types (2c- 4c) are usually not shown or represented at all in media today. Your hair is gorgeous! Coming from a white woman. I've always envied black hair.
✋✋
Nick The Great How am I being rude? If anything she is. It’s not a bad thing to curl your hair, you don’t have to stick to one hairstyle.
Here here
None of these girls had curly hair all except the last one people need to stop putting curls and waves in the same catagory bc they are not the same at all
Layla Amador and the 70s
Yep. Curly hair is not very common, while wavy hair is extremely common. I get sick of it.
they meant how people curled their hair back then, not how people with curly hair wore it (but yeah, the title gives a wrong idea)
PREACHHHH I have actual super curly hair and when ppl say omg I have curly hair just like u and their hair is literally barely wavy/straight
My hair is both curly and wavy so yes they can be in the same category and I'm sure many women out there feel the same.
You mean curled hair, not curly hair! I have straight hair and was finally excited my curly hair folks get some recognition.
Why are they stopping the 1910's stuff? I know we are going to 2020, but honestly 1910 is the best.
Symbelmynë des Bruyères 1900's too omg 😔😔😔😔
It’s “100 Years of...” and since it’s almost 2020, it just makes more sense to start at the 20s than to go beyond 100 years just to do the 10s
i would rather watch videos about stuff in 1910's alone ... this is just boring now
There was like 1 girl with actual curly hair😐
Curlii The Unicorn Actually there were 2
Curlii The Unicorn right
omg no they ALL were, they wernt straight were they?
Syanna MSP you do know wavy hair is a thing too not only curly and straight hair..
miami Yes but the video is titled: "100 Years of CURLY Hair." Not wavy hair...
Most of these comments are about how they thought this was about curly hair but it wouldn’t make sense to talk about the styles of curly hair throughout the century because think about it if these were natural curls it’s not like it follows a style because you didn’t choose to have these type of curls at that certain time so it doesn’t really follow a trend because it’s natural
tittle should of been curled hair not culry hair. There is only 2 examples of actual curly hair.
yeah more than 2 curled hair styles.
Marta Brandão only 2 examples of actual curly hair.
I was hoping to see how people with naturally curly hair managed their style. I guess not
“Curls” okay some of those can’t even be classified as remotely curly
1:01 Dustin from the snowball?
The Milk in Ryan's Ass i thought i was the only one😂😂😂😂😂😂
The Milk in Ryan's Ass YESSS!
TRUEE
AHAHAHAHHA YESSS STRANGER THINGS
LOOL YOU'RE SO RIGHT
Umm most of these girls hair aren't even curly 😂 they just curled it..
Lyric Shaw ugh yes thank you
That's how they do it. Its only a representation. People get mad over such small things.
Whimsy Randomness agreed
sinistella These are not large budget videos, to find a woman with this type of hair would take a lot of time and money.
No where in the title it said "Natural".
This video is just for representation.
When they make documentaries on people, they don't bring in the same person. There are many factors.
1. They don't want to cast
2. They don't know how to act
3. They are dead.
This video is for representation.
I'm sorry if I portrayed myself a bit passively aggressive.
Have a good day. 😊
That's the point of the video. It is showing how people curled their hair through the decades.
I loveee doing the 1960s curly updo for school, vintage and beautiful 💕
1960😍
Ajshe I loved it too 💕 I have very flat and straight hair.
Ikr😍
That one really wasn't accurate, especially with the modern makeup. It's still a beautiful style, though.
Ikr!! I loved it too💞
ofc you guys would love it...it's not curly its curled
Apparently my curls help distract from the Great Depression.. But I'm still in it, it's not distracting.
The 2010s curls are pretty much my hair 24/7. That, and when Frizzy, it's the 70s curls. I have biracial hair, so I definitely have the 70s curls girl's hair.
The 1960s 😍
UH 1970S HAD ME FLOORED SHE IS BEAUTIFUL. AND THAT HAIR? 😍
Surprisingly I find that afro on the 1970s model very appealing. I don’t usually like them but she pulls it off perfectly. I also like the 1950s poodle style 👍
Saw the word marcel and thought of the originals
Brianna Naranjo I thought of Harry Styles 😂
María Gonzalez omg my name is literally Maria Gonzalez too?😂
Same lmao
I think anyone with curly hair realizes 2 thing when watching this vid
• most of them don't have natural curly hair
• you will never achieve this perfection
I just realized next year the videos are gonna be a little longer cuz it’ll be the start of a new decade
Thank god for that one natural curly headed girl at the end.
1940s is the most gorgeous
Yup.
From the side she looked like audrey Hepburn
She reminded me of Hayley Atwell in the role of Peggy Carter. :)
the 40s arent even real curls lmao
Maria for me it 2000 was the most prettiest
Nobody:
Most of the comments:this isn’t curly hair it’s curled hair
Ashley Thomas like literally someone made a mistake and then the whole comment section goes even sometimes agressive i’d say
@@lin9139 It's more about them being misled and the lack of representation for people with actual naturally curly hair, but I get that the majority of comments are about it and stuff
The girl in the thumbnail looks like camila cabello in Havana😂😂
A lot of this is very inaccurate
TV Party were you alive for them? 🤣🤪😆😆
The 40s looked more like the 50s and the 50s looked like an 80s mullet abomination.
Jessica Marlowe
Olso on 50s,the "top" hairstyle with curls was Marlyn Monroe's short blonde curls.
Well hairstyles were different for everyone you didn’t live in those time periods or all of them. And my Mom was an 80’s kid and that was pretty accurate based on pictures of her.
True
omg the 1960s hair is ittttt. 1960s 1980s curly hair are my vibeeeeee and wearing them natural now is timeless ❤
the 60s were super cute
But not accurate.
I'm middle eastern guy with long natural curly hair, i love it, but it alone needs a lifetime of caring.
Why does the fifth one look like Camila (singer) and the sixth one look like Katy Perry???!!!! I NEED ANSWERS!!!
The woman in the thumbnail is camila cabellos doppelganger
ava leibel you mean Zendaya
Elle Cullen I don’t think she did, she left another comment saying the same thing.
I like how this comment has a lot less likes and replies than the other one
You're kidding right shes miles more beautiful than camilla or zendaya or whatever
@@Housemusic4ever ????
Fake curls*
Mala Palomera omg stop complianig keep your dirty nasty comments to yourself and i know its not just you but if you dont have anything nice to say dont comment at all.
Zanaiyah Covington You cant tell him what to do. Move on.
This isn't dirty or nasty it's true all of them except one was fake curl/curled with a flat iron
Yes👏
......duh. A lot of people don't have naturally curly hair.
I really wish it was more accepted as a natural, beautiful style and not an unkempt style worn by crazy, party girls.
Also @ Allure you should really consider doing that a video as well
My favorite was 60's and 80's because I literally have the 80's curls right now lol
Well yeah but, doesn't the 1960's one look like camila cabello?
i actually really liked the look of the 60s!!
haven’t started watching but i can make a prediction.
70s: Brian May
my prediction was correct
Curly hair can never be brushed!
This is curly hairstyles for people without curly hair
I love the Poodle and the 1970s styles. 💇💕
everything always come back in one way or another. The 70s look was gorgeous
Curly updo was my favorite.I also did that hairstyle for my communion
fake curls back at it again
So people with straight hair can't curl their hair because it hurts your feelings?
@@everlastingluv361 the title was implying the video was about curly hair, not curled hair. there is a difference between the two. nobody said straight people can't curl their hair
@@itsiyanaplays6954 offtopic but dumbapple is the most adorable insult ever i want to use it
• KCIV • Uhh thanks
Everlasting Luv nobody said that lol.
