The woman at 2:03 is so freakin gorgeous, and I love her hair! I’ve always loved afros, I don’t understand how some people shun poc for wearing their hair natural like this. I think it looks spectacular.
The 1920s one isn't that far off, the curls look a little odd though but at least it's not the stereotypical hairband across the forehead with a feather attached🤢
Not including the 1910s doesn’t mean it’s not a 100 years as long as they do the 2010s. Besides, you try finding short hair styles that were fashionable in any sense of the word pre-1920s
No one had short hair in the 1910's, it was the 20's that women became liberated with shoryer hemlines, shaving their underarms, and wearing darker cosmetics. Before the jazz age we were in long skirts & pinned hair.
I've never let my hair grow out since learning I look absolutely horrendous with long hair. First time I cut my hair really short was eye opening. My face just doesn't do well being framed by hair, ponytails didn't really do it for me either because my hair is too thick to put it up everyday. I'm also saving a crap ton of money on hair product and dye
Same... My hair is short and I really like it short but everyone thinks I should grow it out... But I don't want to... I like being different and I think my short hair frames my face better
My hair is fine & wavy. Since I stopped coloring it, I'm also very salt & pepper. Long hair just makes me look like a hag. With a short cut? My silver highlights stand out & I get compliments all the time. I choose to believe that people are sincere & not just being nice to an old lady.
Why do so much research but not hire a period hairstylist that is trained in executing past styles in historically accurate ways? I’m by no means a specialist but even I could point out how wrong most of the looks were.
just go for it! my hair is like this at the moment (i had a pixie and now its growing back) and i love it! you can still braid it or style it like a bob (you just need loooaads of bobby pins...) and it doesn't look weird when growing it out!:)
As a young girl, I remember seeing Halle Berry's pixie and thought I wanted to have hair just like hers!! My mom though wouldn't let me go through with it lol she was emotionally attached to my long hair but once I moved out of the house I got a pixie cut :)
This can not be more timely. :) I just had my first ever pixie cut last Monday! At first, I had a little bit of regret because I thought I looked too boyish, but then, as the days passed, I started to love it more and have more fun with it! I wasn't very specific with the stylist who cut my hair, I just said I wanted a pixie cut. At first, he was shocked--more scared for me than I was for myself! He asked me at least five times if I was sure and if I knew what I was getting into because I had shoulder-length hair. Now, I'm just having fun with it. I just run my hands through it to fix it, and I'm currently thinking of what products to use to keep it neat. So far, my bed head can be a little too fluffy, but I just dampen my hair to smooth it back down. Without meaning to, I have myself the 80s hair in this video. I swear, the model and I have almost the exact same hair right now. :) I love this video! This gave me more ideas about what other short hair variations there are still for me to try!
Eight years ago, I got really sick. I was in my first year of high school at the time, and had to be pulled out and be hospitalized. One of the results of my illness was most of my long waist-length hair falling out. Even after I fought through my sickness and survived, I was left with maybe a handful of hair left, left looking limp and sad. So I ended up cutting all of it off and it felt amazing! There were a lot of people who commented on it, saying “you look like a boy! Girls shouldn’t have such short hair!” But there were also a lot of people who complimented me. My hair’s been around my shoulders since then (and I actually got it cut chin length again a week ago) but I’ve always loved this new, confident me. My short hair’s kind of become a testament to the things I overcame all those years ago.
I actually really enjoyed this video! when I was 14, 15 & 16 years old, I used to wear my hair short, sometimes pixie short. I tried to style my hair like Toni Braxton, Halle Berry, Dorothy Dandridge, and some style from the 80's, etc. I looked really cute with short hair; some people said that it complemented my facial structure. Now I'm 18, and can't pull it off anymore! I wish I could.
Wonderful video! Especially loved the Billie Holiday coif... gorgeous model and such feminine, touchable hair! The 60s pixie was awesome, too. Thank you for a very enjoyable video.
@@TheBusyJane no youre just pining it up to make it short. I have medium long hair when straightened but when its in its natural God-given state of curlyness and kinkiness is short. Dont judge all hair types the same way. Because their normal is not going to be the same. All these girls wither have their natural hair or straightened it out but their hair cut was still short so they could be included in the vid.
True! Angelina's cut in that movie is iconic. It was base for creating Quake character in Marvel comics. Just look www.spider-man.org.pl/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/secret_war_johnson_jolie.jpg Iconic! :)

Who is she ?
And we're missing the 1910s, again..
Janelle Northcut And we didn't even reach to the 2020's. Should be "90 years of short hair".
Janelle Northcut Short hair wasn’t used in the 1910s so i think that’s why they didn’t add it but i wish they did

Where is the 90s mushroom cuts?
We're tying to forget those lol
Hahaha... I had that, when I was 13 or 14! 🤣🤣🤣That was very popular back then though. 😉
Mushroom cuts in the 70’s. See Captain and Tenille.
mushroom or "curtain" haircuts were more popular with boys/men weren't they?
Not really, it was popular for men and women too in the 90's.
When Beatles had mushroom haircut, yes by that time only for men. 😉
