Great review, thanks for posting it. I’ve only tried the WR Wheat, and it’s good but not knock-me-down awesome. I’ve heard so much (good) about the Double Oaked that I’ll likely try it in the future. Looking forward to your next review! P.S. the Like Button is thunderstruck! 😎😄
I’m just getting into whiskys, bourbon in particular. I grabbed a bottle of WFDO and I am not getting along with it. I’m not sure if I got a bottle that was a little off but it is more along the lines of a burnt bitter chocolate with a dry astringent finish. I have a Elijah small batch that is much sweeter on the nose and palette. Maybe the woodford mash bill just isn’t for me but I’m surprised at just how bitter and dry it is for such a highly touted “dessert” bourbon. I have a bottle of the wheat that I’m going to try soon, hopefully it’s better 🙌🏾
Awesome, to the point rundown.👍 First person who pronounced Versailles correctly too lol. And of course, the bloopers are not to be missed. Cheers from 🇨🇦, Shayla 🥃
I’ve tried three of the four and I think I’d agree the double oaked and wheat were my favorite. The straight bourbon was good but had a bit of that strong alcohol scent to the nose and on the tongue, not bad but not particularly great for sipping. The double oaked had a nice rustic woody smoky profile to it, I picked up hits of cocoa and banana bread with some cherry and cranberry fruitiness to it as well. Definitely the most pleasant aroma, perhaps less complex over the palate, but still a very enjoyable and smooth whisky. The wheat was more similar to the bourbon than the double oaked was IMO, but was a bit sweater with honey a vanilla notes and I definitely preferred it over the bourbon for sipping. I have heard good things about the rye, but they are always out of stock at my local store so I haven’t had a chance to try it yet..
Std WR is ok as a mixer but that 90.4 proof doesn't really stand up. They need to do a BiB and higher. The double oak gets good reviews, might have to try that. I'll have to look for the wheat but that should be higher proof too.
You're such a goofball in your bloopers. That's not a bad thing! Cheers!
Just love this one. Cheers
Great review Shalya! Double Oaked is my favorite!

Great review. Good information about each whiskey. Your nose and taste are similar to other reviews but the information you give is better. Thanks.
Double oaked is my favorite of these for sure

I love the Woodford Double Oaked and the Wheater. Haven't had the rye or the base offering but they're on my list. Excellent review Shayla! Cheers!
Thanks Christopher! Yeah the DO and Wheater are my favs!

Yeah I enjoy the rye, wheats good, DO is still my favorite.
I've had all, but the Wheat, and I liked them.
Guess I gotta try the Wheat now.
Wheat I love ❤️ good review
I’ve picked their wheater in blinds over MM46, Weller SR and Larceny twice. Really underrated and at a great price.
Yeah! I plan on doing a blind wheater flight with these soon
Have had Original, Rye, and Double oak. Rye was the winner for me. Cheers
How does Woodford Rye compare to Old Forester Rye seeing they're both Brown-Forman products?
