I have a Patreon now! There are currently two tiers for it right now but there will be more in the future. If you'd like to help back the channel and be apart of there being more videos made, your contributions would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Great analysis as always. Another piece of media that this inspired was Japanese Breakfast’s music video for “Be Sweet”

Great video! I thought I knew almost all of this, but this is the first time I heard about the VHS. Also, Jason Lee (!!) in the Sonic Youth video, the best musical performance (subjective) on David Letterman and you perpetuating the fact that Hornblower is not Yauch. Love it!!!

Damn, its kind of funny that they threathened to go to another production company because the budget was too big, and then they went over budget.
But the way they shot it, guerilla on the streets really gave it the look and feel that made it the masterpiece it is.

¡Great work! This is one of those music videos that I can exactly remember the first time I whatch it: a friday late at night on MuchMusic (we still dont have MTv in Argentina) so it was the incensored version. Totally blew my mind. Still in my top ten of greatest music videos of all time 30 years later.
