    Hey Peter, the links provided for the UUrig side handle: say for Ronin S and SC and not the RS 2. Are they one and the same?

    I bought the F38 to release the feet from the base, but I find the base is too smooth and doesn't have any grab so it keeps slipping loose. How did you get yours on solid?

    Nice work Pete. I loved your gimbal academy course as well. I loved the concept of Ulanzi f38 quick release system at the bottom of my gimbal while attaching a uurig side handle. I bought. it using the links from your description, but when I attach the side handle, the base plate isn't sitting tight, It is anti twisting and getting loosen all the time. Any tips on how you kept it tight

    Hey Peter I bought the side handle and the quick release plate but I have this issue where the handle won't stay tight long and then is loose and wobbles. I've cranked down on the screw as hard as I can and it will stay for a few minutes of shooting and then get's loose again making it useless. Did you use a different screw than what comes with the plate? Seems kinda short.

    How does your uurig handle sit in one place? When I want to attach it, it slips on the rubber and turns around. That way it’s never on the left, and I can never trust it. Any tips?

    Welp, you had the most comprehensive accessory videos for the RS2 and showed practical applications for how to use the stuff you're demonstrating here.
    I ordered everything you suggested in this video aside from the smallrig plate, hdmi cable, and clips (which I still might get) and it all lives up to the quality you described in this video. Ulanzi even hooked me up with a cool mini light bar. Thanks for the helpful video, brotha!

    Great video! I wanted to use your links and did for the clips and DH03, but a few items you only link one choice and don't have amazon links. I was able to find some products on Amazon, such as the Ulanzi R083 Foldable Handle. You should go through them and add amazon links as choices like you have others. I had a credit on my amazon account, thus the reason I need to stay with that for now.

    Hi, great video!!
    How do you use the peak design on the RS2? In the previous DJI I could use them and it was very good to be able to let them rest on a strap around my neck. But seeing where you placed them, aren't you scared? It doesn't seem stable.

    Any suggestions for an external mic setup to use while filming with a gimbal? I use the DJI RSC2 with a Nikon D7500, and I need my external mic for audio, but the either of my mics mounted on the D7500 makes underslung mode on the gimbal impossible. They are fairly light mics, however the height makes it a problem. I shoot steam locomotives mostly, so using dubbed audio is often not an option as it won't match the visuals, and I haven't found a way yet to mount a mic let alone which mic to use that'll either clear the gimbal in underslung mode, or sit somewhere else on the gimbal other than the on camera.

    • @PeterMakholm
      @PeterMakholm  2 роки тому

      Hi Everett. I get this question quite often, and will be making a video on the topic. But the best way you can mount a mic is by using a cage and add the mic on the side of the cage. Then you can use the gimbal without the mic interfeering with the movement of the gimbal.

    • @everettmeehling
      @everettmeehling 2 роки тому

      @@PeterMakholm Thank you for the suggestion - I'll be searching for a cage! And certainly looking forward to that video.

    I have the same setup but wonder if the dual handle SmallRig would work nicer for my back on longer shoots

    • @PeterMakholm
      @PeterMakholm  2 роки тому +1

      the wider grip won't benefit you, but if you have long shoot days you should consider a ring and and a easyrig. You could also benefit from a monopod. this allows you to easily rest the gimbal between takes.

    • @philpritchard8772
      @philpritchard8772 2 роки тому

      @@PeterMakholm thanks Peter. I’ll actually use my monopod that’s a great idea between takes or for statics!

    Curious if you know of a good Arca-Swiss plate. I have a 3 Legged Thing Ray and Airhed Cine head and I need to find a plate that works with both the Airhed Cine AND the RSC2. Problem i'm having is the RSC2 plates slot into the gimbal horizontally while the Airhed Cine takes a vertical orientation.

    Thanks for the walkthrough on the RS2 Peter. I also shoot with the S5. I was wondering what your go to wide lens is with the S5/S1H when it's on the RS2. I have the Panasonic 24-70 2.8 and really like it but it's not wide enough sometimes. I purchased the Laowa 10-18 and it's super wide but feel like I"m getting some distorition on it. Thanks.

    Have you tried the Tilta Extended Quick Release Baseplate? It's a fixed length and doesn't give as much side clearance as your Smallrig -- but it gives me enough clearance for my BMPCC6K. Since it mounts on the provided RS2 plate, I can also use the micro-adjustment knob.

    So whenever I'm thinking about ANYTHING involving a gimbal - I look to you my friend . . . "Mr. Gimbal." Thanks to you I have bought the RSC 2 for my A7s III and now looking for a pro level gimbal to SPECIFICALLY and SOLEY GO with my SMARTPHONE a 12 pro max (since my larger gimbal requirements are taken care of) . I would love to hear your thoughts . . Mr. Gimbal. PS my rig needs to handle around 500 grams. Thank you very much for any consideration in this matter.
