Okay, so setting up my RS2 for a corporate gig and, watching this, the main thing I took away was how far you've come in 3 years. Holy smokes man. This compared to your latest stuff is like night and day. Your growth is major inspiration for me. You are awesome and thank you for always evolving.
I have just discovered that, when doing indoor shoots (Like for Real Estate) you can get super smooth forward or reverse motion by using a wheelchair. I happen to have a few due to a former issue sitting in my garage, and realized this. I set it at an angle to my waist and use a neck strap, or even jest strap it to the chair, and you essentially have a super cheap track. I shuffle my feet to move the wheelchair if I am in it, or push it if I tether it to the chair. Absolutely zero walking bounce. (you can pick up a cheap travel chair on the used market for next to nothing, and it’ll fold up and snap in your trunk.)

The ninja walk. It's a classic. We used to have to walk up and down stairs at uni, holding a book on our head whilst looking through the eyepiece of a camera, that trains you real good!
Your English mess-ups are amazing they actually pulled me back into the content it's like a natural interrupt and it makes you more relatable and entertaining! Thanksnfornleaving them in. Amazing videos man love the lighting and backgrounds in all your videos.
I watch a lot of your videos and even when I'm watching something new that I already knew how to do, it's still awesome to hear someone more talented than myself reinforcing these techniques.
This is the first video of yours I have watched - the thumbnail grabbed me in and was just the type of content I am looking for as I'm new-ish to gimbals. Great videos! Definitely subscribing. Your humor is *chef's kiss* perfect. Had me rolling a few times for sure. Thank you for the great content!
Dude THANK YOU for explaining the manual focus wheel dollying forward. I’ve always wondered with shots where you move forward or back where you’d have to grab focus again- what do you do??? Thank you!
This video has helped me a lot. I used your link in the comment section to buy the quick release thing. Thanks for that tip, and all the other ideas and tips how to use a gimbal. After watching the whole video, I rewatched some parts just to get the idea. Wish you well.
Great lesson in Gimbal usage. I don't have one in fact I have a 10 yr old camera that was about 100 when I got it but your vids make me want to get some equipment to experience your art form! Thanks for the video!
Purchased my Ronin SC this month and stabilized it(finally!). I'll be using all of your advice to create some interesting content for my channel. Thanks Peter and keep up the great work!!
Some good tips! I think I saw somewhere that when walking forwards and doing the ninja walk that it also helps to angle the gimbal forwards too so it can help take a little more shake out of the movement - whereas holding straight up accentuates the shake and prevents the gimbal countering it...,
I've just purchased my first DJI RS Gimbal and I enjoyed your easy to understand, down to earth tutorial! Going out to practice my Gimbal walk!lol. Peace from New Zealand!
I had never used a DSLR gimbal before and bought the Ronin S which took me f*****g ages to balance it! Maybe it was just me.... FYI my new EOS R arrived and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!
Haha first time can be a pain in the ass (no pun intended). But once you get the hang of the balancing it gets easier! Awesome, I'm yet to try it out but I can imagine its dope!
Sir, definitely the best video about shooting vith gimbal, thank you a lot, it really helps me figure out some shots, which I wanted to shoot, but they didn´t look as great as now, have a nice day
I was just looking at a DJi ronin s gimbal and then seeing your video explaining a lot of points from how to handle it and what works I was like I need to buy me one even though I already have a DJi Osmo Mobile 3 which I am still learning.
When doing videos, what lens setting is most often used...28mm? What exposure setting would be best on a DSLR on video mode...aperture priority, shutter priority, manual where you set your aperture and shutter speed and the ISO on AUTO? And if on Aperture priority, what f-stop is most favorable on video when using a DSLR?
I don't know if you are the same Peter Lindgren from Opeth, but if not, I found another Swedish (or Scandinavian) Peter Lindgren to admire. Being of Swedish ancestry myself and growing up in the United States in a very NON-Scandinavian state (New Jersey), I always appreciate the forced Swedish Chef accent, which clearly you are good at. Also, thanks so much for the awesome information. Always love to learn a few new gimbal techniques. Cheers and Rock On!!!
Hi Just caught your video and the iphone app trick at 00:23 was incredible - heaps of good advice - I'm learning how to best use a new gimbal so this video well appreciated
Thanks for the practical advice. Like many other viewers, I just bought a gimbal and now I know a little. ore about how to get those juicy shots. Thanks, man!
Awesome video man. I got a Ronin S about a month ago and I just spent a few days practicing balancing... after that I need a lot of practice. So far I use it a lot to shoot myself for this commercial I’m working on and I picked it up from your beer video 😎 thanks to you this project I’m working on is a little easier. 🍻💪🏼
I got my first gimbal in 2024 a used Ronin SC. Thanks for these amazing tips. Because everyone else said you gotta go slow motion and you didn’t. My A6400 doesn’t even support 4k slow motion
Gimbal walk, = duck walk. I got a Sony A9 and the Ronin SC. Heavy all together. Im 60 and your not (joke). I am not going to talk about any crouching shots. One thing I want to do is get an extension rod to screw in, in place of the tripod extension. something longer so I will have better leverage. Good tips there Alpha Male with the big guns! keep it up. I subscribed.
Cheers so much I appreciate all your know how 😊 In a recent tutorial someone recommended ditching the ninja walk altogether and learn to walk heal toe like we’re naturally meant to ❤
Hi Peter, when using a gimbal and a camera that supports IBIS. Should I turn off the camera IBIS when using a gimbal, like when you should do on a tripod?
Thanks a lot for this Video. Helps realy. Would be great in you could Show more about gimbal use and Settings. For me i have the Probleme that the motors struggle in close to ground moves and i realy dont know why.
Hej hej Peter 😎 Nice footage, you made there! In Gothenburg, Eriksbergen, if I'm not mistaking. Why I only now came across your channel, is a mystery to me, but your explanations and examples are a great help for an amateur, like me. You've got a new subscriber from the Netherlands. Keep up the good work! 👍
Hi Peter. really nice video with some of real world scenarios you covered there which a lot do not cover. I got the Ronin SC recently to test with an a7iii + tamron 28-75 lens. I did the balance after almost 4 hours of struggle but whenever i go to mode where the camera is near to ground level the motor of the gimbal starts to vibrate. Is that related to balancing issue or do i need a bigger gimbal such as Ronin S to handle tamron 28-75 lens along with the sony body. Need your views on this. Thanks
Good question! I have the Ronin-S, and I am having the same problem - mini/micro vibrations - but I was using smaller lenses? Hopefully we get answers, unless you already did? If so, please help! Thanks!
@@Tricklarock i think it's the weight of lens which is more of sc to handle, also mostly primes are been recommended for gimbal shots than that of zoom because zooms get heavy because of their in built zoom motors too.
B R I L L I A N T mate, thank you for producing this video. I love that smartphone app control. Wow, that map of the World with the LEDs in it on your background wall is SUPER AWESOME. Well done to you for everything you are doing here on your channel and I wish you every success. I have a Zhiyun Crane 2 & a new GH5 looking forward to filmmaking using these two together. Cheers from Western Australia
whats your focus setting or do you have tips to get the focus everytime right. caus my focus tracking and my focus is most time very bad it keeps focusing the background but my settings are alright
Hi! I like your video, it’s helpful. We got your tips from the reveal shot. I have a question. How do you deal the focus with walking shot? We are finding hard the way to do it.

How about a foldable walker? It is even more compact.
Based on this idea, I just figured out that a spinny office chair is great for pans too!

My mentor who was the DP for Orson Welles used a wheelchair all the time on his movies

Honestly, thank u for actually SHOWING and explaining how to do each move with example.
Stumbled into this video while searching for video on using my gimbal. So far this one is hands down the best. Appreciate the tips.
Thanks for the tips. I felt silly I thought just having a gimbal was enough, but practice makes perfect! I got a lot of work to do!
saaaame.

Good stuff man, still very relevant. The gimbal walk is super tiring. Was completely worn out following my kids around for 15-20 mins.
I also just got my first gimbal and this is probably one of the most useful videos I've stumbled upon I'm totally subscribing
Literally one of the most helpful videos on UA-cam . Many thanks !

Thx. That PL200 adapter is very good idea. Any third party options? Manfrotto sells 323 adapter but it is so expensive.
Thanks for the information, very nice explained. Wish you a nice Sunday and best regards John;)
Probably one of the most loveable youtubers out there.
Keep it up man!!
What are you shooting your main tripod shot on? Looks incredible! A7iii with Sony 16-35mm Vario-Tessar T FE F4 ZA OSS E-Mount Lens?
Can u do a video with the app settings that u use I’m having a tough time

Very good tips there!
Question... Do you switch off in camera stabilisation?
OIS in lens.
In body.

Can you post what you’re setting are for M1,M2,M3 or do a video talking about the setting you use?

Awesome work bro, by the way what camera did you use inside your studio to make your video awesome
I had to come back to this Video. Needed some inspiration and a refresher. PL you are deeply appreciated.
Cheers so much I appreciate all your know how 😊
In a recent tutorial someone recommended ditching the ninja walk altogether and learn to walk heal toe like we’re naturally meant to ❤
Heel to toe is how you do the ninja walk 👍🏼
Great tips. Jag vandra mycket i terräng så jag har inga fina bryggor att gå på. Det blir till att böja på knäna och se upp för rötterna :-)

Hi Peter, can I ask where did you buy the led world map above your desk ? I really like it :)
Thank you for this video! 😎 I have a question ... Basically, when using a gimbal, you always switch off the sensor + lens stabilization or?
I’d like to know that too. Have you found the answer mate?:)
@@rj5521 did you guys end up finding the answer ? 👀
@@cmj0929 I never switched that off.👍
Great video as always, but is didn’t see info in the quick release plate. I would really like to know the brand. Thanks in advance!

how come the bobbing motion isn't covered by a "3" axis gimbal? isn't it x, y, z, like yaw, pitch and roll, so this would be the pitch?
