I know I'm gonna come across as "that guy," but there's no 9/32 screw, it'd be 7mm. Every fastener on that truck is metric. Hopefully that might come in handy for somebody.
@@thaaalegend2775I understand that, this was a life advice comment. I’m constantly amazed how many people don’t know that literally every vehicle since the mid 80’s has entirely metric fasteners. How many millions of hours of collective DIYer frustration would be saved if that fact was common knowledge?
@@Matlock69 maybe true 🤷♂️🤷♂️ I just have a bucket of tools and I grab what looks like will fit and if it doesn’t I grab something else. Always seems to get it done 😭
So my question is is I have a factory camera in the back of my F150 2007 model is that camera more better and does it beep when you get close to something?
If you just wanted the camera when you where in reverse, could you just use the supplied wires to power the camera without having to tap into other wires / fuses?
Is it possible to tap into my current rear camera wiring harness? I have the small screen/monitor in the mirror. I don’t care if the monitor stays active as long as I can have a reverse on and manual on rear camera on my aftermarket radio display. Thanks
On my aftermarket radio the harness for it has a pink wire labeled as reverse. What does it hook to? I know how to wire the camera into the back up light so it gets the signal to switch over to the camera view, but have no idea what the pink wire would hook to. Thank you.
So I installed a Jensen head unit with license plate backup camera almost identical to your components and process in my 2009 F150. It works great until I put my foot on the brake while in reverse. At this point the screen will intermittently flash, go out completely, or display 'no signal' or 'no input'. Are you familiar with this issue? I've read different forums but am curious if you already have a resolution.
Thanks for the video, I need it for my 2012 f150. I’m still unsure about the trigger wire. What exactly does it connect to if you’re not using the reverse light? What does the smart harness connect to to trigger the reverse camera?
I have the same truck, and was wondering the same thing!!! I'm using the iDatalink Maestro RR kit, and haven't hooked up my cam yet, but I got confused when he was hooking a red wire behind the tail light...
Ugh idk what I did or where to go from here, but I have tried just about every wire in my 2012 Ford F-150 and once upon a time I DID get it to work when I pushed the button on the stereo BUT it wasn’t working when I would put the truck in actual reverse…I don’t know if I broke the connection in the stereo but now the camera doesn’t show anything at all…😢
@@ProvoBeastAudio I get that. I'm about to put an aftermarket double din in my dad's 09 f150 is there a kit to keep the wiring clean and delete the rearview mirror screen? Really don't need it on both he can't see the mirror one. Lol all the kits I've seen retain it. Would love to avoid messing with the headliner at all.
I believe if he had a factory deck with navigation it would already go to the dash. You would assume there's a way to tie in to that option even though he never had it. (Usually connections are still there for factory option it doesn't have)
This makes me want to trade my truck in for one that actually has a backup camera, no way am I doing this or would I let someone I dont know do this to my truck, and the dealer would say "that will cost you $1,000.
Parts used linked in the description of the video!
half a dozen plus videos later and your the only one to show where the wire goes into the cab at, thankyou!
Should have watched ours first ;)
Exactly what I came here for. Thank you for this comment to let me know I’m not wasting my time.

A 932 is basically the same thing as a 7 mm it's just a little bit bigger and it will work
You are being “that guy” and what he said in the video works fine

Very good!
If you just wanted the camera when you where in reverse, could you just use the supplied wires to power the camera without having to tap into other wires / fuses?
He said you could and it was in written out at the top of the screen also
Nice!!!
Why don't you use the RV trailer plug? It has all the wires to need there.
That way the camera will be always on with a steady power supply, camera life will decrease to a year....maybe

Thank you for this video!
I bought stereo back up cam combo and the labels on the instructions don’t seem right lol Could you help me ?
How did you run the wire over the frame? I can’t see how you get in there to run it above everything.
What brand and model radio did you put into this f150! Also what camera did you use? Thanks

I would love to know answer to tht question also.
@@MrRons79 I never found the answer. I just tapped into the backup lights at the rear of the truck and it works great.

What color is the backup wire on a PAC RP4 FD11 for a 2012 ford F-150
Pac instructions show purple / white.

Can this be setup for a multi use cameras for a truck and camper installation?
Dude I have no idea how you ran the wire over the frame
9/32 was infuriating. There is no imperial crap it’s a 7mm
Can I use this tutorial for my f150 2014 ecoboost if so could you send me what components you used and where I can get them
Listed in description. Start with amazon.
Why not use the factory style backup cam? Would look better.
We would if we good - Some individuals don't want to use the equipment we recommend.

Can I add a trailer video line to my 2014 f150 radio which came with a truck back up camera?
Your better off buying a separate unit with its own screen for temporary use versus tapping in to the stock radio if it's even possible
Could you tell me what radio you have
Does the radio retain the controls on the steering wheel? I’m planing on getting all the items you have in the description.
Wat size grommet did you use
What’s the reverse light fuse?
What stereo is that?

This is easy to do lol
It's only easy with a aftermarket system if there worried about doing this you know there still rocking the stock radio
1000$ to the dealer is cheaper than a new truck dude
Local audio shop will charge 150 for this
