At first glance, and just a glance, the front looks OK then the back: whoa! How can a town council or health department or whoever allow a house right in town to get so bad? I'm a little surprised someone hasn't tossed a match. Maybe the house hasn't been torched because the neighbors are so close. Looks like the bathroom sink and the tub could be salvaged along with the mirror over the dressing table though the dressing table is likely a home for mice or termites or is moldy. Thanks for taking us along!
Yeah at first glance you'd never really know what was really going on with it. Luckily its somewhat rare for abandoned houses to be set on fire around here. The mirror, yeah it was nicely tucked away in the only decent room in the house lol. Thanks for checking it out!
How much more condemned can it get? U know it's bad when the safest way out is thru the wall behind the bathtub! Yet there were clothes still hanging in the closets (dead-ringers for my mom's 1970's garb). We had a Heck's in my hometown. Used to get plastic furniture for my dollhouses there, among other things. One of the last items purchased, before they closed down: my "Get the Knack" l.p. Ha-ha!
The turned wood trim and corbels you zoom in on during the closing exterior shots are in fantastic shape and probably original to the home. Probably native hardwoods. We see places like this all the time as we travel the backroads around central Kentucky. Thank you for taking us to see what we have only tried to imagine. If you are ever interested in old land or property deeds, transfers or history let me know. I have expanded digital access to several Kentucky counties.
A great video. Still some good old stuff in there. Like that old tub, the dresser w/ the mirror could be redone. I like the long, looked like porch furniture seat in the room with all the chairs. Shame for it to just rot away someday. Thanks for sharing & be safe.
That was amazing KU~ The house had some great details. The Iron wrought decorative panel on the front porch was beautiful. They should be repurposed. They are very expensive to have made.
it sad to see items left in homes, you'd think someone would come in and clear it rather then the letting the rot take its sweet time, but it happens, either termites or woodworm sets in destroying the wood, then if not checked leaky pipes or heavy rain/stroms destroys the roof/floors letting the rot and left for years it either fall apart or just destroys itself in one go,
this would be a great place to set up a hideaway camp! IF I offgrid, and live homeless (would keep my job), then this would be a great place to hide when "bleep" hits the fan scenarios!
the rap music outside put the final touches! 😂 jk. I didn't mind the music that you edited in. as long as it doesn't take over other sounds and ambience
great video, those bathroom fixtures for the toilet and tub, go back to at least the 1940's if not earlier, bet it was a neat house back when it was functional
Hey nice to see another Kentuckian doing some urbex, were from Frankfort and do as much urbex as possible, there's and old abandoned furniture/ Walmart that you would probably like to check out. If you want any more info just pm me
How sad is that, thanks for the tour, my grand maws house is rotting away because the kids won't agree to anything the oldest is 84 time to do something
Yep. Had a group of friends who were siblings that inherited beautiful wooded property w/a new house on-site. Unfinished, yes, but still...the structure was built & still sound, yet no windows, siding, plumbing, or electrical had been installed. Since they couldn't divide it up, & everyone wanted their share, they ended up selling it, property & all, & splitting the proceeds, which were blown in a yr's time for some of them. What a waste.
Are you sure this place has gone untouched since '89? Some of the furniture doesn't look too bad for supposedly being that old in a decaying house. And those clothes are basically untouched and very clean looking. Sure someone wasn't living there more recently? I have clothes in storage bags that don't look that good! Maybe someone who was homeless? Or neighbors using some of the better roofed areas for storage?
+RICH DUDDY I love abandoned videos but the music ruins them. I like the natrual so6nds and commentary. Makes me feel like I am there not watching a movie. I think most would agree.
Excellent job
Great video please keep them coming 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks a lot!
+Kentucky Urbex np dude also keep the music it makes the video
these old homes make my heart hurt!
Mine too, Claudia. Wish I could film them all
I like the music, I like the way you bring it in and out so its not too overpowering.

Any idea why the house was abandoned? It is very fascinating seeing these homes, and wondering the history behind them.

Love it!! Great video, such a shame the house is falling down.
thanks a lot, yeah it is a shame, and a wonder its still standing with that back wall missing

WOW, What a find, sad to see go into decay.. Great video, Thank you..
That was amazing KU~ The house had some great details. The Iron wrought decorative panel on the front porch was beautiful. They should be repurposed. They are very expensive to have made.
Thanks, yeah I loved the wrought iron on the porch and the bracketing along the top edge

Landbanks are needed to help deal with the issue of condemned buildings.
the rap music outside put the final touches! 😂 jk. I didn't mind the music that you edited in. as long as it doesn't take over other sounds and ambience
I enjoyed that one. Funny how the whole back end was gone that badly. Cheers !
Thanks for checking it out, yeah that was a surprise to see back there
I know this is an older video but this place is awesome.
great video, those bathroom fixtures for the toilet and tub, go back to at least the 1940's if not earlier, bet it was a neat house back when it was functional

Why did you blur out that heading on the newspaper @2:00? What did it say?
Nice video and nice decay, too bad the dacay was a bit too much :-)

PLEASE make vids without music.
agree with you
+RICH DUDDY I love abandoned videos but the music ruins them. I like the natrual so6nds and commentary. Makes me feel like I am there not watching a movie. I think most would agree.
No, keep the music.
what an amazing place, your filming looks a bit like mine check my vids out if you like.
I like he video but would also like it better without music and would like more commentary . Keeping e'm coming.
that place should of been tore down a long time ago. someone needs to go to the auditors office report that place.
Why? It's just a old house, apart of history maybe, it shouldn't be torn down
