I think the diary tells it all. I imagine after living with an abusive father this lady just wanted to get away and live on her own. What a peaceful place to be able to start over, build a life and do just that.
There’s a story still needing to be told about the person who lived there and the history of the property, and that diary should be rescued and brought to a local historical society.
If she had a social life at church, an occasional visitor, and went to town at times and visited, she actually did pretty well overall. She had her music, garden, Bible, and was surrounded by Creation.
I bought land with an abandoned trailer on it. I went through the trailer and kept what I wanted, recycled and burnt the rest. I knew the good, the bad, and the ugly about the people who lived there by the time I was finished. Robert had permission from the current owner to go through this house and we have a new respect for a remarkable woman because of his video. There was no disrespect, only admiration for a past life.
Exactly - this land and house has been sold to a new owner and it seems as if everything will be left to rot into the ground - so we documented it before it’s gone completely….
I once had a friend like this woman. She looked like a blond Viking (German descent). She didn't have the greatest life growing up and was very independent. She lived in a run down shack but took no handouts. She raised chickens, hunted, fished, and grew vegetables. Her only downfall was drinking and poor choices in men. But she had a good heart. Once she ran out of firewood to heat her house in Minnesota and was blocked by a blizzard with no electricity or phone so she burned all her furniture and she made it through.
Hi guys I know you don't ever take anything away from any of the houses you explore but in this case I wish one of you could have taken her diary just to make sure that it survives and doesn't rot away with everything else. As it stands that diary is the only tangible evidence of this woman's existance.
Robert, please find out more about this woman! What a sad, lonely life it seems she lead. She seems to have been very tenacious, I’d love to find out that she did experience love & happiness in her life. This was a fun video, yet heartbreaking, too. Please don’t let her continue to be forgotten. Thanks for the tour, & no, definitely don’t take anything from her house!! She WILL haunt you!!!!! 😉
This woman who lived here was a woman Who had a very strong mindset - determination unlike anyone I know today. Her story is heartbreaking 💔. I wish we knew her whole life story- as her life seems to stop at this home she built on her own. I wonder what happened to her- who she was- and if she is still alive- I pray that she is ok!!! 🙏🏼💖☮️
So the house land and all the contents were sold to a new owner who let us explore it… it’s sad that family didn’t save anything - but I see that a lot
Thank you Robert, Dan, John and Angela for documenting the woman’s home. It showed us what determination can do when you come from a hard situation! She will now be remembered by all who’ve watched. Keep doing what y’all do! Respect and admiration from Northern Minnesota 😊
This was definitely different from other videos. It kinda broke my heart to see all her things still there. I admire her. She was a smart lady n left that abusive life n made a life of her own. I think she was content where she was living. Give her a lot of credit for making it on own. It’s sad to see all of her things still there. No family to claim it. Would love to know who she was n how old she was when she passed away. This was a good find. I appreciate you always getting permission to go there n leave everything as you saw it. ♥️♥️😊👍
The pain her father put her thru. And the bravery she put forth to become strong. It would be nice to learn more about her. This makes your mind run with adventure. She lived sparingly but yet her clothes were those of wealth or was that dress saved for her departure. Thank you for sharing
That was an emotional roller coaster ride. What an amazing woman. She obviously loved music. Looks like she played music for the Lord while on Earth. No doubt she's doing the same now but with a Heavenly audience instead of the forest creatures. They must have missed her after God finally called her home. Thank you for ending it with laughter. I wonder who moved the dress? LOL. That was great. Thank you!
She put it back in the house. She didn't want one of her favorite dresses outside. You could see that there was some items in the refrigerator. Can you imagine the work to bring in the house the pianos and organ. A few nice things in the house.
When i was young (about a half century ago) my Aunt used to tell us stories about houses in the woods and how that when a young couple would get married they wouldcmove into them for 1) newly wed privacy 2) they literally didnt own anything but what clothes they had and these houses came with most bare neccess to make it a home Some of these houses were built by some family member who upgraded to a bigger one since most were one room shacks but it did allow for the young couple to save and work for something better Watching this reminded me of her stories for some reason
The house is interesting and looks to be untouched with no staging. Dust and Cobwebs in their true form. I felt like I was there smelling the pine straw, concrete covered with moss and the black mold. This lady sounds strong and determined to make it on her own. An amazing peek into the past. Thanks for posting.
Would the new owners allow that little diary to be held by the historic society? I suppose her life seems sad to us, but I suspect she felt happily independent and liberated in her very own space. Imagine it when the pianos and pump organ were played. The clothing doesn't say "sad" either!
Robert, do you all have any more info on who this lady was? I'm beyond in awe over how she lived her life, like did she ever marry? Have children? How long did she live there? Her name? Did she build this house from the ground up with the old pre existing house still there? I have so many questions, is she buried on the grounds there or in a local cemetery? Where did her Parent's go?? I know I'll stop there, please give a little more information on this mysterious lady please please, i feel i strange connection to her for some strange reasons. Thank you for being respectful of her in your video. Hugs from wisconsin as always
Wow Robert, that was amazing, I would love to read more of her diary and find out about her and her life alone. It would be interesting to learn more about her and the life she had and perhaps her name. Loved, loved, loved this adventure 🥰
Looking at that house, I think she must have been a very interesting person. I think I would have liked to have known her, imagine the stories she could have told, now lost forever. Cheers, Rik Spector
I can tell by the brick walls of this home that it is not an older home, like what is on the old Byrd Farm, since they have used cinder block brick homes for many years, so 20th century for sure. It seems that the cost of having it all removed is higher than just waiting to have it all fall over and then get rid of it. In either case, Looks like it was a family that lived there at one time, the Old lady, and possibly her family?? Interesting that it looks as if the lady did not have a very high education but did whatever she could to make a home and keep her from the weather outside. Amazing the thing one can do for just pure survival. I hope she had SOME love in her life, cause it sounded from the diary that she was very abused by her own father, when young., Until she just couldn't tolerate it anymore. With all the piano's looks like she had a love of music, possibly to get her mind out of the abuse she had gone though, her little piece of heaven, as it were. I hope you can find out more about her and her life. Thank you for sharing this.
I am watching from Elmira NY I respect how you show great care and respect when exploring abandoned buildings. We have a lot of abandoned buildings and houses in Elmira NY and the Southern tier
How fascinating. That diary is worth exploring. The house seems as if the lady was taken, maybe to a hospital where she wasn't able to return to her home. There may not have been any relatives or friends to look after her place. It's amazing that she built it herself. Her musical instruments mean she must have enjoyed playing them. That gown is mighty fancy. Maybe it was worn to church or to a special function. It's a wonder that it was left hanging by itself inside. It's more a wonder that it made its way back inside. That dress looked like it was in perfect condition, no spider webs, hanging nicely. Hmmmmm.
Thank you all for an amazing video,. That poor lady must have been so desperate to get away from her father to build that house. Love from Australia. Stay safe. Love you all. Xxx
Just started watching, and OMG!! At 7:33, did anyone else hear that voice, like a moan?? Creepy is right Robert. And I know you all don’t exactly include spooky, ghostly, spirits in your vids, but some things you just cant “not hear or see” it! That you can hear! Great vid as always!!
I wondered if anyone noticed that her bed was very tightly made. The bottom sheet was tucked. You could see it from the end of the bed. So either she made her bed on the day she passed or someone else made it.
The poor lady. She must have had a very hard life.Thats a lot of blocks. We still have beds like that😀metal beds are very cool I also like the lantern with red globe and the kerosene lamp. Please find out what happened to her and let us know Please👍
awesome! love abandoned homes. I'd love to ready that whole diary. You couldn't have taken the diary? you know for history sake And what were those noises that started when you talked about no glass windows? couldn't tell if it was birds, kids or a dog.
That is an elegant dress - I was surprised. Nice that we got a better look at it. I was hoping someone would put it back, but I guess it managed on its own.
Great video Rob. I would like to see more old houses or places. It would also be nice if you could give some history on whatever you're taking a video of.
I have watched hundreds of abandoned places videos. This is the best one I have seen in a long time. No crazy clickbait title (it is a creepy place so I’ll give you that 😂). No fake backstory about a murder.. This is just cool, interesting history. Thank you.
Friends & I took an Alaskan cruise, followed by an RV trip around the interior. At one stop, we took a speed boat tour that culminated in a stop at an old trappers cabin. Once a year he'd travel to town to sell his pelts, tie one on, & return home. But one year, after his drink-fest, he died, leaving his cabin just like he expected to return home. The boat owners were allowed to retain ownership of the cabin, & now gives ticket holders the chance to see this old hermits lifestyle.---I do wish there was more information given about your lady hermit. Who/what/when. Where is she now, why her possessions weren't dispersed after she left it, etc.
I remember staying at my granny's house and was surprised to find out that one of downstairs rooms was a dirt floor until my mom and dad arranged to have it cemented. I heard from the older kids they needed pick axes to break up the dirt.
They're just things, things you don't have a need for in heaven. But I'm afraid that those very personal things will be gone soon and along with them no one will know her story or remember who she was.
Was this site next to a playground? I hear a bunch if kids yelling when you gone a exploring around the house……also i hear a faint woman’s voice inside the house @ 4:13😮
Ooo,really sad, even first look. After Dan read what was in the diary... everyone gets lonely. Truly I sense a deep sadness. The dress ,well that was😳,I would say time to go. Wouldn 'go there alone. Little spooked myself love from KY.

It’s a spooky adventure. Thank you 4wheel.

So the house land and all the contents were sold to a new owner who let us explore it… it’s sad that family didn’t save anything - but I see that a lot
Respect to the lady who once lived there. Hopefully her soul rests in peace.❤️🇨🇦

Robert, I so enjoy your adventures. You never fail to scratch my history buff itch. Thank you. 🥰
Out of all your videos, this one is screaming for a follow up! As creepy as the vibe was, I'd be in there all day going through everything.

So interesting! Maybe the new owners could be persuaded to at least have the diary transcribed? It would be a valuable snippet of life and history.
never creepy- always sad. one wonderful thing-- there was music in my that place!❤️
Yes!
You know that diary has more stories to tell
Really enjoyed this one! Thanks for documenting this time capsule!
Thank you all for an amazing video,. That poor lady must have been so desperate to get away from her father to build that house. Love from Australia. Stay safe. Love you all. Xxx

I heard “John”. Is Angela playing a trick on us? 😳
I heard something.
That dress is beautiful. I wonder if she wore it to church?
Yes it was. That’s why we brought it out for a better look…
This was. Very sad. I would love to have read the whole diary.
I wondered if anyone noticed that her bed was very tightly made. The bottom sheet was tucked. You could see it from the end of the bed. So either she made her bed on the day she passed or someone else made it.

It's really a kinda sad place. She spent her life building the house and now it's falling down.
Right - I think sad more than creepy honestly.
Just amazing did it all her self wasn't perfect but it was her home 💟
Cool! Fun! 💕👵
No Robert…saying the word “betwixt” is what’s gonna conjure up the spirits!!!😂🤣🤣
I thought the organ might start playing, like in "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken"!
This was great!!love checking old homes out!!! Ok so who fessed up to moving the dress???? 👀🕸️🦗
I received no confession!!
I hope Dan took the diary for historical purposes.
Creepy House always great adventure have great week
awesome! love abandoned homes. I'd love to ready that whole diary. You couldn't have taken the diary? you know for history sake And what were those noises that started when you talked about no glass windows? couldn't tell if it was birds, kids or a dog.
She did a great job building a house.
That is an elegant dress - I was surprised. Nice that we got a better look at it. I was hoping someone would put it back, but I guess it managed on its own.
Someone put it back lol
Great video Rob. I would like to see more old houses or places. It would also be nice if you could give some history on whatever you're taking a video of.
Thank you for showing us through this property!

The dress moving was amazing. Just after you mentioned a crypt out front.
I know someone like this. Very invested in their house.
Would love to know more about this woman. Thank you for taking us on the Adventure with you.

I’m surprised you didn’t make some big noise before you went in-to scatter the critters! 😅
Would have loved to know how long it has been abandoned.
I remember staying at my granny's house and was surprised to find out that one of downstairs rooms was a dirt floor until my mom and dad arranged to have it cemented. I heard from the older kids they needed pick axes to break up the dirt.
Great explore! 😍 loved it.
What a great find...spooky but fun exploration...
I'd love to read that whole diary. Real people's lives are more interesting than anything Hollywood can come up with.
Loved this episode ❤️. You need to go back the end of October lol.
Fascinating! I really enjoyed this video.
I love places like this. They are few and far between anymore.👍👍 Was she buried there as she planned?
No she is not buried there…
I enjoyed that thanks, guys!
Ok, from now on, when y’all explore old houses, you have to leave a camera running outside to catch the spirits with.🐝🤗❤️
That is incredibly interesting, thank all of you so much
Great find but where did she get the electric from as theres a bulb in the bedroom !
So sad to see her things just rotting away😪
They're just things, things you don't have a need for in heaven. But I'm afraid that those very personal things will be gone soon and along with them no one will know her story or remember who she was.
Do any of you guys know more stories about this woman? We'd love to hear!
Well who moved the dress?
For Europeans, to see something like that, is truly unbelievable. I wonder how long everything is laying there untouched.
Did it sound like there were children playing outside to anyone else watching this?
Was this site next to a playground? I hear a bunch if kids yelling when you gone a exploring around the house……also i hear a faint woman’s voice inside the house @ 4:13😮
I love your videos Robert. Sending love from Philippines 💕
People still watch over their stuff although they have left this world. What would of happened if they took that dress home? 🤔
We never would have taken it tho.
WOW... totally fascinating .. thank you
I'd be more worried about venomous snakes in the house than a ghost/spirit.
Poor lady wonder what happened to her? Looks like she built this house in an attempt to escape an abusive. father. Thanks this is so sad
Thumbs up if you think Robert should do a live stream from there ALONE.
I will donate 100% if you do Robert.
🤣🤣🤣
At night.
You should get those things with the diary to the local history society. What an interesting story this woman seems to have had.
The piano and organ should be rescued.
Ooo,really sad, even first look. After Dan read what was in the diary... everyone gets lonely. Truly I sense a deep sadness. The dress ,well that was😳,I would say time to go. Wouldn 'go there alone. Little spooked myself love from KY.
It’s really not creepy - but very very sad
"OFFSIDES" ADVENTURES! New Series! Exploring creepy old places!
Wow! The pianos and organs in that house. If that house could talk, it would sing!
SOME BODY MOVED THA DAMN DRESS....WHO MOVED THA DRESS!!!!🤣
One of us moved it
Hello Sir Robert and Sir Dan. sorry I'm late. Oh and hello Sir John and Lady Angie.
Fascinating video! I’d love to know more about the woman. God rest her soul. 🥰
Egads! That place was creepy! You need to take a sage stick and fire it up especially when your buddies start lighting candles and playing old out of tune pianos! Would have been interesting to read her diary.
There were newspapers under the boxes of clothes. Did anyone happen to look at the newspapers to find dates?
Big ROBERT moved the dress...
No doubt.
What a great video!!
Makes you think about how others lived and be grateful for your own blessings.
The two small plates( the jesus and last supper) still on the wall by the door at the beginning still look very nice and are probably old are still lovely indeed
Wow, an original one room self built sharecropper`s house, I would guess early 1900s.
Amazing!
