I own a 2015 G80 5 liter. I worked for Lexus R&D. I will be very honest that this car exceeds all my expectations and more. We are purchasing a G90 here soon. So we will have both. Totally impressed with the quality. I have driven Lexus, BMW, and Merc and nothing compares in this price level.
How exactly does UA-cam work? I have been watching this guy doing honest reviews and great cinematography and he still has only about 50k subscribers. This review is classic case and point. Please keep up the good work.
My dad was trying to decide whether he should get the G90, the volvo S90, or the Lexus LS. He said he really liked the interior of the volvo, but the G90's ride quality and the absolute interior silence was unbeatable! So I think he's going to go for the G90.

Hey I get your point, never said that volvo is trying to compete with LS or G90. I just said that MY DAD is trying to decide between the three. He doesn't care about resale values actually- just take a ride on a G90 sometime, it will really surprise you in a good way. My dad was blown on the ride quality, and yes he decided to go with the G90 yesterday.
I drove the G90 twice. The ride quality is on par with the other well known German auto makers. You might think I am exaggerating, but it really is that good. I recommend you to test drive one..you'll be really surprised by how the Koreans managed to put this on the market. I did some research and it seems that the Genesis brand is already a very well established brand in South Korea (obviously) for some time now.

Stefan Cupovic Gap is not slim at all. If you ever owned S class and see every small details and tech inside, G90 feels like empty can. Most people watch these youtube videos and just hear about main topics. but owning is different story. You can to live with it and learn every small feature of a car. S class is light years ahead of Korean car. That's why Korean is cheap and German isn't. You get what you pay for.
You dont get what you pay for. Just look at part costs on german vs korean/japanese parts, a fan from both will be cheap plastic but one will be alot more expensive than the other. They need suckers who have limited automotive knowledge
BoogieDownProduction Car price is not about parts. What about engineering and R & D cost? I would say engineering costs more than parts. Everyone can buy parts if they got money. but Idea and engineering can't be bought
Amazingly there are people out there (like me) who still like big amounts of shiny wood - in spite of every reviewer who knock the "it looks like plastic". Mucho shiny birdseye maple has alway made my heart sing in the 3 Lexus LS's that I've owned.
Glad he's open minded heading into the review and isn't badgewhoring over the car like most reviewers. "Oh it's not a Mercedes. LOL" He's not like that and I appreciate it.
@@nova1274 The car now has 67000 miles. The cost of maintenance is relatively inexpensive compared to similar luxury cars. This is one of the best reviews out there for G90. No BS and so much 'gold' on how G90 is different from other 'luxury' cars. Keep going with your reviews.
I've always liked your videos... hell, your Kia Sorento review was one of the reasons I drove one and purchased it. I think this review for the G90 made me realize why I like your reviews so much, they feel real. When you like a vehicle, you like it. When your cool with it but not impressed, it comes through. This G90 video = your enthusiastic, excited about it, impressed, the car brings out your emotion, it's genuine. Now, ain't no way in hell I can afford one, but I gotta test drive a G90 this weekend thanks to your review LMAO!
I've driven the G80 twice as I was trying to buy one as a full family sedan before the wife told me to sell my 370z and buy my GTR and I have to tell you, I actually tried to buy the Genesis G80 but we couldn't come together on numbers, I loved it just that much. Hyundai will be killing the luxury car game in the next 10years!
I think your channel is fantastic. The quality of your content, the delivery style, the honesty of your feedback and the attention to detail is absolutely superb. Keep up the good work -- an increase in your subscriber base is only a matter of time.
Excellent honesty in review without all the Badge homage, thanks for sticking with the facts and pointing out what true car buyers want from a review. The shop visits are really a nice touch to your reviews as well.
Ever since Hyundai revealed the remodeled Genesis in 2015, i've become a fan boy, this only solidifies that. Cannot wait for the rest of their line up. The sketches up the new Sonata look amazing!
I started selling Toyotas in September of last year, and have since watched just about every single one of your reviews for this model year. You are far and away the best reviewer I have seen as of yet, and the quality of your videos are consistently high grade. Your views and opinions are both honest and thoughtful, and are not especially biased. I also appreciate the humor and lightheartedness that come through, and the thoroughness you present in going over important detail one should consider when purchasing a new car. Keep up the great work, and I'm looking forward to your future content!
I've noticed American car journalists (and buyers) are a lot more objective and rational when it comes to car reviews and buying decisions, compared to their European counterparts. Nice job with review as usual.
I have 2 dream car categories: sport & luxury. This car has been in my luxury spot for some time now, and so I'm very excited that you got to review it. I had the privilege to test drive a 2015 Genesis Tau V8 last year and was extremely impressed with its suspension and overall ride, so naturally I'm eager to experience how much more amazing it has gotten with the G90! I'm one of those people who loves technology, solidity, and quality in a car, but also simplicity and ease of maintenance (to a reasonable extent of course). Amidst all the modern luxury vehicles coming out that are essentially "dealer-only" items in the maintenance department, the fact that Hyundai designed a car of this caliber which allows the owner to do his/her own oil changes is very impressive. Another reason I'm a Hyundai & Genesis fan for life.
It is absolutely not a surprise that Hyundai got the smart phone compartment right, given the 99% ubiquitous of Galaxys and iPhones in S. Korea, including the engineers and designers.
Regarding the phone cubby and parking button. It's the most common sensical critique and so spot on. Yet nobody in the car review business seem to care about them, as if they don't really drive cars. Just weird. Good work!
Great review, refreshing to see someone who gets straight to the driving dynamics and feel of the car. No corporate shilling or bullshit, thank you Savagegeese.
The genesis including the first Hyundai badged ones were built to a different standard. Period. The suspension on these cars are really good. NVH is par excellence! Only issue is how well the owner takes care of it. From my personal perspective as an owner of one it's great. Would recommend it to anyone who is willing to look beyond the brand.
I know it must suck for you to shoot in those conditions (poor lighting, cold, wet, etc.). But from a viewer's perspective you did a great job and I actually prefer the wintery back drop.
You can really tell from the video that the car's sound insulation is from a padded cell at the funny farm. It's so quiet the loudest thing besides the engine was your coat!
This is an incredible review...you have done an awesome job at covering all the details that matter. Going to be picking up my G90 5.0 AWD and bringing it out to Autobahn to see if I can stay in front of the Spec Miata's for at least 3 turns ;-) SavageGeese you are my new favorite auto journalist review specialist.
I'm extremely late to your channel but wow... Your reviews are in depth... But not annoying. You bring a different experience to this "review thing". Thank you. I definitely subbed!
Another superb review. I respect the heck out of Hyundai’s constant self-improvement mission and it reminds me of how the Japanese became the best. If this car isn’t an LS400 moment at least Hyundai seem intent on trying to get there. Toyota is no. 1 deservedly because they simply make the strongest, longest lasting cars in the world so if Hyundai can usurp them some day by using the same philosophy then good on ‘em.
@@my1vice Yeah since I made this comment I’ve found that every mechanic on UA-cam who cares to express an opinion on Hyundai all say they’re still garbage and their motors still suck and die young. As much as the Q45 was not equal to the incredible LS, I’d rather have a 25 year old Q45 than a new Hyundai. (And if I could afford to maintain one I would because the 1st 45s look SO good. To me)

I have the 2016 Elantra, and I must say, when I bought it in 2015, she has been a fantastic car for the last 3 years! Hyundai has come a VERY long way from the past issues, and I would buy another Hyundai down the road after this Elantra. I expect her to last at least 10 years, maybe longer!
I love your videos, they're are so informative, I think you might be the only one that actually goes underneath the vehicle and shows the whole thing. Props to Turbowski as well. few people can film driving a car and show how it really performs, some guys record Ferrari inboard driving and even at 300 km/h it looks slow like city driving. When you drove it was great, it looks fast, dynamic, powerful. Congrats
Absolutely gorgeous luxury car. I got a used 2009 Hyundai Genesis and if it holds up, then I'll invest in a G90 for sure. They do need to improve on their phone customer service as well as dealership experience and pricing of parts.
Liked and subscribed!! I don't see a lot of youtubers or reviewers make their video as intense as of how you watched in a box office movie title. You sir have brought up the level of cinematography and creativity in creating the mood into making random viewers or eve those pre-buyers in wanting to get their mind off their difficulties in making decisions for their 1st car like how i swaddled between the Audi A7s/A8s, BMW 7s, Mercedes S-class/CLS. Amazing work here!
had picked up an original 89 Toyota celsior (Lexus ls400) with a gazillion miles on it. still had the original air suspension! literally like riding on air! so smooth! a true Japanese quality classic.
Again, amazing review. Again, amazing production value. Again, amazing everything. I've become such a big fan in such a small time frame it's borderline incredible. Keep up the great work.
By the way, would you *please* make a comparison between Hyundai and Kia in general? Your opinions on their models and how they compare against each other (of course, comparing the models that compete with each other. Ex: Óptima vs Sonata, etc.). I think this would a very good, different idea for a video. We value your opinion so very much. Please do it.
keep up the good work. I love the different approach in your reviews. The whole in shop experience is pretty nice and brings a nice dynamic to your content!
A stellar review, as always. In addition, exceptional production values, beautiful cinematography accompanied by well chosen music... I only wish other manufacturers would provide their vehicles to Savagegeese for such honest and entertaining reviews. Let us spread the word and bring more subscribers to Savagegeese! P.S. A review with the Alfa Romeo Giulia is in order...
Without a doubt, he deserves it. The only thing I would hope from all those added subscribers is that they be at least halfway legitimate car enthusiasts. Otherwise the comment section of these videos would begin to be infiltrated with idiocy and overall garbage. I like the way it is now... kinda like our own little community that truly appreciates Mr. Goose's work!
Aleks Ulmer true. I honestly have to say that the car community is one of the most cancerous ive seen. And this comment section is the only one where i feel comfortable to type things and i don't want this to change
DoubleD 613 interesting feedback, personally I get the impression we're better off as is, they both speak based on their experience, I'd change nothing personally
I was driving my dads 98 740 for a few days and that car just has such a special feel to it. E38 Chassis Feels like the engineers managed to balance a giant wrecking ball on a needle. If Hyundai can replicate that driving feel they will have a potential leasing customer.
As often gets mentioned, your content is very high-quality and the reviews are very thorough, which makes the slow growth of the channel frustrating for me. Have you considered doing any collaborations with any of the larger YT names like Matt Farah/TST and their podcast, RCR, Engineering Explained, Everyday Driver and their podcast, e.g.? It'd be great to see you with those folks, though I'm sure being Chicago-based makes that more difficult.
I'm trying to convince my dad to get this instead of a KIA Telluride. They don't have any kids left at home, yet they still want a 3 row. I don't understand old people.

had picked up an original 89 Toyota celsior (Lexus ls400) with a gazillion miles on it. still had the original air suspension! literally like riding on air! so smooth! a true Japanese quality classic.
The whole in shop experience is pretty nice and brings a nice dynamic to your content!
stress your rotator cuff. hilarious. I love how you just throw in these one liners. love it.
Wow excellent review from start to finish I watched your whole video and even laughed at the banter with you and the mechanic 👍
Thanks Savage. I purchased a used G90 Ultimate V8 in large part because of your review.
After watching this video i got one certified preowned. Amazing video, helped a lot making choices between Volvo S90 or this
It's just perfect and worth every penny ♡♡♡.
Thank you, greate review.
Another really excellent review goose!
you deserve at least half a million subscribers more
yes he does.... so does.
For sure as long as he keeps the same tone for these videos nice and relaxed.
Aleks Ulmer true.
I honestly have to say that the car community is one of the most cancerous ive seen. And this comment section is the only one where i feel comfortable to type things and i don't want this to change
U GOTTA DO REVIEWS WITH SCOTT N YOU DRIVING THE CARS N GIVING BOTH OPINIONS
DoubleD 613 agree
DoubleD 613 interesting feedback, personally I get the impression we're better off as is, they both speak based on their experience, I'd change nothing personally
Awesome video as always. I sat in one of these recently and came away VERY impressed.
I was driving my dads 98 740 for a few days and that car just has such a special feel to it.
E38 Chassis Feels like the engineers managed to balance a giant wrecking ball on a needle.
If Hyundai can replicate that driving feel they will have a potential leasing customer.
Mr. Geese I have decided to go with the G90 V6 TT over the 2019 Avalon, Lexus ES 350, and 2015+ Genesis/G80. It's a no brainier at it's used price!
Nice work with the sound from inside the cabin. Especially first part of driving impressions...
LIKED first. Thanks for the review didn't think you would review this car this soon.
Gran Turismo sounds are now mandatory for all acceleration pieces. Bahahaha
I'm trying to convince my dad to get this instead of a KIA Telluride. They don't have any kids left at home, yet they still want a 3 row. I don't understand old people.
pls review the new G90 v8 2020
Great review, Savagegeese! I love how this review was very concise, while still being very informative! I just recently reviewed a G90, too! I was quite impressed! Keep up the great work! 😉👌👍

"The Quest To Record The Best!"
Great work! Thank you for the detailed review!
Your based out of Chicago right? When was this filmed? We barely got any snow this season.
+Crimsonis 3 weeks ago. Northern illinois.
going to say I'm in Arlington Heights/Palatine area and we didn't see a whole lot of snow. Just picked up a 16 Genesis 3.8, First car purchase, thing is amazing to me :)
Genesis is kicking ass this year
Great job as always guys.
Exhaustively and honestly reviewed
great video. keep it up!
4:45, those front bumpers need a bit more distance from the ground or what? :/
1:36-1:42. Thats what she said
Another TOP notch video review...
I am a minute into this review and this cinematography is head and shoulders above ANYTHING else on UA-cam with the possible exception of Chris Harris. Instant subscribe.
What function does the clear piece of plastic in the grill serve? - I missed the explanation...thanks!
Randy Jones It houses the radar technology for the cruise control and pedestrian detection, allowing the signals to pass through.
savagegeese The best Car reviews on youtube ......keep up the good work!!!!
I sat in this car when the Autoshow was here....holy crap its so nice. So much comfier than any lexus at the same price.
Great work sausagegeese. Is that missle command sounds at the end?
+Scott P Outrun. Your type of flatout racing.
Is this Turbowski?!
Yes
Scott P I bet you love the cars the brings you huh? lol great job you guys have!!
Is there a way to turn adblock off for all videos of a certain youtube channel or do I need to turn it off manually for every video I view?
Does the G80 and G90 come with the ambient lighting as an option or was that installed by the owner?
Really excellent review ... I have a 2014 Equus Signature ... a great value. Curious to know if this is your day job or side passion?
+ashoey Side passion
