I'm 67yrs old and I've listen to this song for a very large part of my life,this band amazes me,we were doing acid ,smoking pot ,and enjoying life trying not to think about Vietnam and our tragic loss ,and how we fought for no reason, it brings tears to my eyes.
I’m right there with you. Same age, same life. That was a very special time. There’s nothing to compare to what we had back then. The music was raw and amazing. There was just something so magical in the air in those days. I listen until my heart becomes so full and the tears start to drop….then I stop….until next time.

It affected all of us in different ways. It was a huge part of my life. Our High School organized groups to write to the soldiers that were on the ground fighting. My best friend and I took it very seriously. We wrote dozens of letters and I even received a set of dog tags in one return letter. Thinking back, I can’t believe the whole situation. High School students writing to these young men in war. To this day those memories still haunt me. ( Just wanted to reply to your message. Thanks for letting me share). God Bless 🇺🇸
Aww sorry for your loss. It's been Six Years since My Dad died. These guys were amazing. They were the first Canadian Group to do American Bandstand. As for The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, these Panelists know nothing about Canadian Music. Alot of others should be inducted. New Edition, Boyz To Men, The Whispers, The Carpenters, Olivia Newton-John, Chic & The Marvelettes. They wouldn't even consider Anne Murray as well.

Cummings and Bachman, two teenagers from Winnipeg! Absolutely incredible what they achieved. I’ve recently attended live concerts from Burton Cummings and three months later Randy Bachman. Just fantastic! Bachman is 80 and doesn’t miss a beat. Cummings never took a single minute of break the whole evening. Even when the rest of the band rested. Love these guys! Some of the best in the business!

The TV Show "Let's Go!" where The Guess Who was the house band had ALL of it's 2" Quad tapes wiped to be re-used. All that exists of Let's Go are some very poor quality B&W 16mm Kinescopes. Luckily though, one producer (who's name escapes me at the moment) had the wherewithal to retain some of the Guess Who's audio tapes that would be used on the show and the band would mime to them. Those surviving tapes were cleaned up and issued on CD a few years back.

Burton Cummings had one of the best voices in Rock and Roll history. His voice in concerts, and here on video, sounds just like the record/ CD. This band, and Cummings and Bachman should be in the US - Hall of Fame. This band has tons of other "big hits" just like this one performed here.
That depended on so many variables. The studio, scheduling, equipment..... even Ed Sullivan who prided himself on having live performances had to have a few groups lip sync. Many groups preferred to perform live but a lot of times, it simply wasn't possible. American Bandstand's studio through the 1960's wasn't equipped with multitrack recording. "Bandstand" was considered "just a kiddie show" and wasn't allowed a decent budget into the 70's.
Real musicians.Writing their own songs. Playing their own instruments and singing their songs! The way its supposed to be!! The Guess Who material sounds fresh today just like it did back when they first recorded it! Big Fan! Awesome live version of one of the best pop songs of all time. The arrangement is simple and to the point, just super. Burton is such a great singer and here is sporting his Morrison hairdo. Actually, he admired Jim Morrison greatly. Got to see Burton solo several years back in Newton, New Jersey at our county music venue. He was still outstanding.
So diverse and talented no matter what they are playing... and lets not forget, Randy went on to BTO and was taking care of business in that band as well.
He is the greatest, saw him in Vegas twice in the past few years and still amazing vocals,. when l saw him at the Orleans he was front and center with his piano. He was not surrounded by a band, or cheesy background singers or dancers. Just him with his piano and l loved him. A great talent.
My husband and I desperately wanted to see Burton and Randy in concert. Never happened, and now my husband has passed, and I'm resigned to UA-cam. Superb musicians both and Burton an unrivalled vocalist, in my humble opinion.
My first concert... "The Guess Who" opened for the "The Who".. Now at 14 yrs of age, that was powerful stuff.. Costed 6dollars to see 2 great bands in CorpusChristi, Texas at a venue that only held 4500. Still there. Memories.

My first concert... "The Guess Who" opened for the "The Who".. Now at 14 yrs of age, that was powerful stuff.. Costed 6dollars to see 2 great bands in CorpusChristi, Texas at a venue that only held 4500. Still there. Memories.

Lucky you! I would've loved to have been there, but I would've only been there for the Guess Who. Not really a fan of The Who. They have some great songs I listen to but just wasn't into them.
