I will always stick with M193 for shorties. Why give up more velocity with a heavy round, when velocity is what you're after. Also, if you are going to go 9mm then just go with a Glock based PDW set up. That way your mags are compatible. and you have a light showing gun.
@@Tier1Citizen well after doing a lot of research it seems like the TMK design really may open up the fragmentation range of 5.56 substantially. Sierra claims reliable fragmentation down to 1900fps, but there’s gel tests of the round still fragmenting, with adequate penetration, down to 1650fps. It just kind of kills that argument of SBRs just poking holes. M193 will still frag out of a 10.5” at CQB distances though, it would be my budget choice and was for a long time.

I have a right shoulder injury that keeps me from doing any drills with my handguns or my 16" carbine and I'm hoping the shorter firearm with less mass will allow me to get back in the game...
Ballistics are a talking point that has little relevance to anyone other than ballisticians. Those who understand the 7.5" know that this weapon is about defeating armor and putting holes where holes don't belong.
@Tier1Citizen Akin to accuracy, I'm not concerned about its external ballistics. It will fly a long ways. I'm more concerned with terminal effects. Holes are fine. If you're clocking in under 2200 fps, you're getting into territory where the 55gr bullets may not deliver the performance they were designed for, and some open tip rounds begin suffering, too. You also start getting into the realm of many levels of armor stopping them wholesale at those lower velocities. It's not just about accuracy.
At 75 yards I have pierced body armor with M193 and blown out holes in pumpkins and watermelons big enough to put my fist into. I also know that PSD teams choose 7.5" SBRs because they are controllable and effective on vehicles, flesh, and body armor.
I personally don’t like any 5.56 below 10.3, and only tolerate a 10.3 because it’s “the” length for a MK18 build. Would prefer and 11.5 or 12.5 truthfully.
Yep, and yet, most people out there think that you can't hit anything past 50 feet, with a 7.5" rifle. When I was in my twenties, I remember reading an article by some gun magazine writer who said, that by the time a bullet is 10 feet out of a 7.5" barrel, it is already tumbling. There are a lot of myths about these rifles.

Whts tht build gd brtha? Good vid
I have no idea what you are asking.
@@Tier1Citizen your ar pistol, is it a custom build, or what's the manufacturer?
I built it myself. I am actually selling it. If you are interested, send me an email at tier1citizen@gmail.com

Can I run a carbine buffer on a 7.5 in barrel?
I would suggest something a bit heavier.
Absolutely love my 7.5 ar. I find myself playing with it just as much as the Glock 19x mos 👌🏼
They're loud but they're fun.
YES
I keep getting told by those I ask I shouldn't go any lower that 13.5" barrel length... is this a bias on their part or is ther some validity to not going as short as 7.5" barrel length? I'm totally confused by all this
It's born of misinformation about the 7.5" shorties.
@@Tier1Citizen Thank you for responding... After watching your videos, I've been drawn more to 7.5" - 8.5" barrel length. Biggest problem now is trying to find a brace for my build.
@@Tier1Citizen based on your videos I ordered a 7.5" completed upper from PSA as well as a pistol buffer tube. I dont' want to deal with the SBR/Tax stamp garbage especially here in the far left state of Oregon. I have a right shoulder injury that keeps me from doing any drills with my handguns or my 16" carbine and I'm hoping the shorter firearm with less mass will allow me to get back in the game...
Great video. Question, I'm going to be building a 7.5" AR pistol. Do you prefer 556 or 300 blackout? Thx

Like any other gun takes practice, practice, and more practice!
I can’t believe they sell any of those red dots at that price. Insane
New sub here. Gotta love it 💪
Welcome aboard!
Welp you've sold me, where can I buy one of those Comps 😂 I would absolutely buy one
I am not currently making them.
Accuracy isn't the issue. How do you reconcile poor ballistics in comparison to a marginally longer 10.3 or 11.5 system?
Suppressed 10.5” for me. I’m not arguing with other POUs, as they are just as valid as my choice. Depends on what you want from your AR.
Hard agree. Any 5.56 setup less than 10.3 is dumb IMO.
Bear gun.
7.5 inch crew 🎉
U like short rifles? Me too!! You should check out cmmg dissent!
Barrel length effects velocity not accuracy.
Incorrect! It effects both, in a big way.
I watched a lot of videos on 7.5inch , it works and works well.
I can shed a 12 inch target at 200 with a red dot on an 8 inch. Accuracy isn't a problem
Ewww I just don’t like em
I think it is more about lethality not accuracy. For 0 to 50 yards then yeah. I’ll stick with 11.5 personally.
No, the arguments I've had thrown at me were, specifically, about accuracy. Lethality is a moot point when it comes to anything other than 12 gauge.
@@Tier1Citizen at range it is an issue due to loss of velocity but I see your point. With a 11.5 I’m fine 0 to about 300. Any further I’m breaking out .308 or .300 Win Mag.
Yes sir
Got mine a few days ago luv it🫡
