I love Kyle! This is an incredible resource for young pitchers. Whenever Kyle's playing days are over, I really hope he takes to the broadcast booth. Every time he's interviewed during a game, it's always a great listen!
This was interesting. I just had a conversation with my son-in-law who played baseball for many years. I asked, "How do announcers know what pitch was delivered?" And then we talked about different pitches. For a long time I didn't know those pitches (change ups?) almost touching the ground were thrown on purpose, not as a bad pitch! 🤷🏼♀️ I love learning the details of the game. Thanks, Kyle! I very much enjoyed this Professor's class! 🤗
I'm picking up the ball for the first time in 15 years, and Kyle is my #1 go to guy for a tune up for my change up. Love to you Professor, thanks for 2016 and REALLY excited to see you in 2023
I like how he said to play catch with it alot early on to get a feel for it. It's like anything else, it takes time to master. Baby steps. Like learning guitar. You start slow and perfext that, then increase speed. One piece at a time...
Second pitch that pitcher should learn. Actually third, 4 seam & 2 seam fast ball. As youths fast ball development of the fast first. You can't teach speed. Control with speed, then movement for youth with 4 & 2 seam don't throw curves or slider yet. Your arm is still developing you might damage your growth.
I would have registered as a major league player, assuming that anyone could learn just because you taught me how to throw that pitch.. Thank you for your kind explanation though. I can enjoy baseball more deeply. 😂
it could definitely influence the outcome, but if you can mix pitches well (throw fastballs, change ups, curveballs in the same at bat) speed isn't as necessary. It is still important to get fast velocity as it could help but it isn't the final factor in pitching.
The cubs are bad enough. Now they are bringing political ads into the mixz. Sorry, Cubs. There are far molre interesting things on TV without political ads. Sorry, I am sure you can do without this lifelong cubs fan watching.
And off to the warehouse I go. “Blitzball Battle II: Jimmy has a change up now”
I'm ready to see it when you've learned it lol
Any good?
Fitting for The Professor to give us a nice lecture on Change Ups.

Missed opportunity to say "Class is in session" at the start
Does speed matter when you are pitching

👍👍👍👍👍
What’s good video.
Great talk! Now go out and lower that 5.22 ERA.
Apparently he had a capsules tear at that time.
Day 7 of trying to get the Cubs to notice me
KNUKLECK CURVE?????

Love you, Professor. Too bad the ownership SUCKS. The MLB has taken the life and fun out oof baseball. Greed. You deserve better, Kyle.
Hopefully Kyle is able to turn things around because it looks like he is over the hill.

I wouldn’t take advice from this washed up bum
I would, he is still a professional making millions of dollars, I would love for that to be me
