dude youre channel is helping a ton of people with pitching. i just wanted to figure out how to throw a sinker and a slider , and youre channel helped so much
Your curve, sinker, and star change up have really helped me improve my pitching. Last night I pitched those pitches with a 4 seam fastball for 3 innings and I struck out 8 boys and my coaches took me out because they wanted to save my arm for my next game. So, thank you you have really helped me become a better pitcher and all around player. I am so glad I found your channel last year. PS: The sinker is a nasty pitch and great for me because im only 12 so i can throw it without hurting my arm.
The star changeup seems to be working really well. when I move my arm in a sideways motion it is nasty not only does it go down it goes to the side LOVE THAT PITCH
The way I gripped my star changeup in highschool, used the Vulan method just 1 finger over. So the webbing in my pointer/thumb and ring/pinky were riding the horseshoe of the seams, then kept my middle finger in the middle of the topside horseshoe, it made it very effective as a drop changeup
I am very good at throwing a Vulcan change-up but I still need more and more practice on it. And once I perfect it, than that'll be my best, breaking fast ball. And thank you for the advice
Calen 13 when I was younger I mastered the circle change but haven’t played since majors because I unfortunately lost my touch. but I’m gonna get it back so I can hopefully go pro and I’m gonna master the best pitches
My grandpa was a meistro at pitching I’ve never asked if he knew any more pitches but he taught me how to throw my first three I’ve mastered growing up, it was a 2 seam fastball 4 seam fastball circle change and I wanna say he taught me a 12-6 curve as well but I’m not sure
Hey,man. I use both of Star and Vulcan grip, and I mix with fastball ,which are three type of speed off. So Nasty. It is good to break the tempo who cannot touch the ball easily:) The movement of Star grip is looking like a fastball but that is close to the base to drop. The Vulcan is looking like a slow fastball, the vision of batter is looking like stopped and the ball doesn't coming.
Coach, I don't split too much at Vulcan,I just split like the fastball of distance. Is that fine to have a well effect that batter cannot adjust the speed off?
Was looking for a change up to add to my repertoire and I went with the Vulcan Bc of this video now revisiting this video reminded me why I decided to go with the Vulcan it is a nasty pitch, I throw a 4 seam, Vulcan, 12-6 and a slurve(which mostly acts like a curve) but I can change the arm angle to have more horizontal movement to it
great video! looking for some good pitches to teach my 12 year olds that won't put too much strain on their still developing arms.. any other pitches you recommend that could help me out with that are easy to learn and won't hurt their arms? any feedback would be greatly appreciate!
Interesting that you grip your circle change the same way Johan Santana gripped his changeup but it wasn't called a circle. I thought circle is when you have THREE fingers on the ball but on the side. Santana gripped his w/ the two middle fingers and that's what I get my HS pitchers to try cause when I played and used it it was easier to control and almost always stayed down, which obviously is what you want w/ a changeup. Thanks.
It was a "circle change" that Johan threw. As far as I can remember. From what my 2 remaining brain cells recall, he really developed it during a rehab stint in the minors after struggling to keep a position in the Twins bullpen... He was a brand new pitcher when he came back and quickly moved to the starting rotation. The rest is history.
4 seam, 2 seam which can occasionally be dirty in almost like a screwball action, 12-6 curve and the Vulcan which is my money pitch. Also, maybe 1-3 sliders per game just to throw the hitter a breaking ball moving away from them
I throw a 4 seam, 2 seam, (I've been messing with a bunch of different grips but having trouble finding one that I'm comfortable with), slurve (my slider but it has more depth so I call it a slurve. I can throw others but stick to these main four. Nothing crazy but it gets the job done
Great video! I’ve came across many of you videos and they have been a great help for better understanding my mechanics. As of right now, I throw a four seam fastball, cutter, and splitter. However, since my splitter tends to knuckle the majority of the time, I feel like it might be good to throw a circle change to have a pitch with a change of speed while maintaining a four seam spin. What are your thoughts on this?
I throw a 4 seam, circle change, and a very very good 12-6 spike curve. I struggle with the 2 seam. I get good spin on it but I can't figure out how to get it to tail. I have an over the top at slot. I can send you some pictures of me and see if you can help. If you have an email that I can do that, please let me know. thank you.
Thank's YouGoPro! I'm a young 12y old pitcher in little league and my dream is to be an MLB Pitcher. You have helped me a lot! Now I know how to throw a Circle-Change, 4-Seam Fastball, and a 12-6 Curveball. Again, thank you so much!
I currently throw a fastball, Vulcan Change-up(But I call it a split-change), and a curveball. Should I use my change-up or curveball more. They both have great movement on them. I know you have not seen me pitch, but I want to know if a curveball or change-up would be more effective as a strikeout pitch.
I throw a 4 seam, circle-change, slurve and a knuckle-curve. I throw my 4 seam fastball over the top and my circle-change a little further down in my arm slot. I am having some movement, but I was wondering if I'm having trouble with how tight I may be gripping the ball. I also wanted to know about the movement for a knuckle-curve. Mine will move like a fastball, but falls off the table. should it go that way?
Good. Should I drop the circle-change and try the vulcan? I feel like I grip the ball too tight to get the correct movement along with the right pronation.
I throw a 4-seam fastball along with a 4-seam change, and a curveball. I throw my fastball and change-up the same way, with the exception that my change uses three fingers instead of two. I tend to go for the change when runners on base because my curve isn't as good from the stretch, is this normal?
I play 11u, and I am a lefty pitcher I throw Four Seam, two seam and star change I pronate my wrist when throwing my changeup and I get lots of downward movement on it. Is that normal?
So lets use a video game as an example, if the options are changer, Vulcan changeup, and circle changeup, are you saying that The star changeup would be just the changeup? So it would be technically wrong to show most pictures throwing just a changeup because it should be a circle changeup since it is most common?
I'm 12 years old and moving up to a league with 15 yearolds. I'm also moving from 46 to 60 feet. I have a 4 seam, fork-change and a knuckle-curve. How do I throw these pitches 15 feet farther, and get more speed to these pitches? Is it just practice?
It takes time for some people. Work on your arm with long toss and just getting used to the difference. It didn't bother me to bad but you won't be throwing as hard quick. It takes time. Just throw from that distance work on your arm strength and also your endurance. Work your arm to be able to throw longer from that distance. Also a side note it to be careful with that forkball. Not the best for your arm in my experiences. But personally what worked for me was long toss and just pitching from that distance but not as hard as I could. I would just work on being able to throw a longer time and when you get that, work on your velocity. My biggest problem was at first I felt like the ball was taking for ever to get to the catcher and I tried to throw harder. Threw out my arm but just have patience and it will come... Hope this helps some
Great question! For me personally the Vulcan worked best. But if you're asking in general out of all the pitchers I see and big leaguers I'd have to say a very good circle change up is a nasty pitch. I was just never good at it.
“On a forkball you’re splitting between your pointer finger and your middle finger, on the Vulcan it’s in between you middle finger and your pointer finger” words of wisdom from the man himself lol
Got my 11 year old son, lefty, throws mid 50s+ fastball, throwing vulcan tonight, and its falling right off the table. This thing is gonna get some ugly swings and misses!!
dude youre channel is helping a ton of people with pitching. i just wanted to figure out how to throw a sinker and a slider , and youre channel helped so much

Dude I cannot make the sinker move consistently for the life of me mind telling me how you made it nasty?
Love your channel learn so much from you
Thanks!
The star changeup seems to be working really well. when I move my arm in a sideways motion it is nasty not only does it go down it goes to the side LOVE THAT PITCH
Awesome!

Thanks for sharing the Vulcan change, I have to try that. Hopefully it works.
I am very good at throwing a Vulcan change-up but I still need more and more practice on it. And once I perfect it, than that'll be my best, breaking fast ball. And thank you for the advice
Ian Kennedy is known for his Vulcan but my question is: Is the Vulcan another name for Split-Changeup? (Roy Halladay)
The Vulcan, to me, is between the middle and ring finger.
Rip
Thanks you so much, I've mastered the Star and Circle, still working on Vulcan, Thanks!!!
+Secret Ambipom awesome! you're welcome!
It’s been four years. Any progress?
If you mastered a change up your going pro lol
Calen 13 when I was younger I mastered the circle change but haven’t played since majors because I unfortunately lost my touch. but I’m gonna get it back so I can hopefully go pro and I’m gonna master the best pitches
It really sucks that I lost my touch cuz I was starting to get like Mr Spock with the pitches
thanks, u taught me how to throw the star and now its one of my best pitches
My grandpa was a meistro at pitching I’ve never asked if he knew any more pitches but he taught me how to throw my first three I’ve mastered growing up, it was a 2 seam fastball 4 seam fastball circle change and I wanna say he taught me a 12-6 curve as well but I’m not sure
Thank you very much. I learn 2 new pitches, because I already throw the circle changeup.
Thank you sir
Rn I throw, 4seam, kinda a 2seam, curve, circle changeup, slurve, but now I have pitches worth puking. Thanks Coach
Hey,man.
I use both of Star and Vulcan grip, and I mix with fastball ,which are three type of speed off. So Nasty.

Awesome!
Coach,
I don't split too much at Vulcan,I just split like the fastball of distance.
Is that fine to have a well effect that batter cannot adjust the speed off?
Might want to split a little more if you need more change of speed and movement
Thanks!!
Was looking for a change up to add to my repertoire and I went with the Vulcan Bc of this video now revisiting this video reminded me why I decided to go with the Vulcan it is a nasty pitch,

The sinker for sure. I have a program that teaches it.
4 seam 2 Seam knuckle curve slider sometimes has great movement and sometimes turns into a standard curve ball and a circle change
I use 4 and 2 seam, spike curve ( knuckle curve ) Vulcan change up and the occasional cutter
Interesting that you grip your circle change the same way Johan Santana gripped his changeup but it wasn't called a circle. +Stabmaster Arson Yes, Johan showed me this pitch when I played for the Mets organization.
It was a "circle change" that Johan threw. As far as I can remember. Yeh send it to me
How should I send them to you? Instagram?
I throw a 4 seam a 2 seam a deadly circle changeup a split finger and a vulcan changeup
L
because of you I can finally pitch as the little league Lakeview team thx I'm the best lil leave pitcher
I learned a lot I'm really good at Changeup
That is a beautiful glove you got there, what is the brand?
Is the palm ball a grip for the change up
Ryan Fraser Yes, basically.
X4n359 12 year olds shouldn't be throwing curveballs until they are 15 or u will hurt ur arm
Blqzex Thanks for the tip. My coach doesn't let me pitch much so I think I will be OK. Not to be rude. (:
P
Thank you
its a great video I really think it will work
I currently throw a fastball, Vulcan Change-up(But I call it a split-change), and a curveball. Should I use my change-up or curveball more. They both have great movement on them. I know you have not seen me pitch, but I want to know if a curveball or change-up would be more effective as a strikeout pitch.
It can be, it just depends on your pitches
1 4seam
2 Cutter
3 Knuckle-Curve
4 Vulcan
5 12-6
I throw a 4 seam, circle-change, slurve and a knuckle-curve. I throw my 4 seam fastball over the top and my circle-change a little further down in my arm slot. I am having some movement, but I was wondering if I'm having trouble with how tight I may be gripping the ball. I also wanted to know about the movement for a knuckle-curve. If it looks like a fastball and then drops off the table, then it sounds like it's a good pitch.
Good. Should I drop the circle-change and try the vulcan? I feel like I grip the ball too tight to get the correct movement along with the right pronation.
That's something you'll have to decide.
My friend was in the Brewers origination he had a really good Circle Change
4 seam fastball
2 seam fastball
Vulcan Changeup
Slider
low 3/4 arm slot 17 years old
I'm 13 throw 85 and I have a 2 seam, 4 seam, curveball, and change up. My pitching coach is teaching me a cutter after fall ball
TheMitmit03 you don't throw 85
TheMitmit03 oh yah? well i am 11 and i throw a 88 mph fastball and a 75 mph changeup
I thro a cutter a 4seam and thanks to this video a cricket change up
I'm 12 going into 13u, I throw a fastball 65 mph and a knucklecurve what stress free( on arm) pitches might work well
I just shot a video yesterday about this. Will upload it next week. Make sure you're subbed so you can see it when it goes up!
I throw a 4-seam fastball along with a 4-seam change, and a curveball. I throw my fastball and change-up the same way, with the exception that my change uses three fingers instead of two. I tend to go for the change when runners on base because my curve isn't as good from the stretch, is this normal?
Cool. You should practice more from the stretch so that all your pitches work good from there.
+YouGoPro Thanks, I've only been playing (pitching) for a season of fall ball and your videos have helped.
I have one question, would all of the pitches be little league appropriate like majors?
+Miranda Blodgett No, there are some pitches that are rough on the arm, and should not be used by somebody young who is still growing.
I play 11u, and I am a lefty pitcher
I throw Four Seam, two seam and star change
I pronate my wrist when throwing my changeup and I get lots of downward movement on it.
Is that normal?
So lets use a video game as an example, if the options are changer, Vulcan changeup, and circle changeup, are you saying that The star changeup would be just the changeup? So it would be technically wrong to show most pictures throwing just a changeup because it should be a circle changeup since it is most common?
I just made my own change up I've been struggling with it but now I made one that I've seen no one throw and it's filthy
2seam 4seam change up and a little curve
Nice
Will any of these pitches hurt my arm
Can you show us some pitches that won't hurt your wrist or elbow.
I throw 4 seam, circle change, Vulcan change, curve, slider, and slurve
I throw a 4seam a 2seam a knuckle curve and a Vulcan changeup
I throw a
4 seam and
Circle change and I made a hitter lose his balance since I threw 4 straight fastballs
Are you related to the Madden Football John Madden?
My pitches are;
1. 4 Seam Fastball
2. Slider
3. 12-6 Curve ball
4. Star Changeup
5. Eephus
Lose that eephus bud
Mine are
4 seam
2 seam
Breaking ball
Cut fastball
Palmball (change-up)
I throw 4-Seam, Curve Ball, Slider, Sinker, 2-Seam, and Change Ups (Like the ones in this video)
make a video on the splitter and gyro :)
Your Average High School Baseball Player. tip: hold a splitter tight in your hand and throw hard
when you throw the circle change isn't it like a running fastball
+William Collier Well it's a change up so it's like 10-15 mph slower than a fastball but usually breaks down and arm side
What is a good 3rd pitch for a 10 year old? My 4-seam
is 57-60 and my change up is 15.
Niloc Ultimate lol 15
The Fresh Express big difference!
Niloc Ultimate i know but your changeup is to fast mine goes max 12 mph
I'm 12 years old and moving up to a league with 15 yearolds. I'm also moving from 46 to 60 feet. I have a 4 seam, fork-change and a knuckle-curve. How do I throw these pitches 15 feet farther, and get more speed to these pitches? Is it just practice?

I am 11 years old, and I seem to feel the vulcan works best for me. Will it blow out my arm?
Jack The muffin YES!!!
4 and 2 seam, palm ball, splitter, need to learn a pitch with side movement
You already have 4. Do you really need more?
No not really
LOL
Try a slider
13 throw 55mph 4 seam
Slider
Cutter
Circle
3 quarter arm slot
🔥
13 and throw officially 66mph, slider, fastball, change up, and a splitter
I throw
1. Fastball
2. Curveball
3. Circle-Change
4. Splitter
5. Cutter
6. Sinker
If you could throw any one of the change-ups to their greatest extent which one would you throw more often?
Great question! For me personally the Vulcan worked best. But if you're asking in general out of all the pitchers I see and big leaguers I'd have to say a very good circle change up is a nasty pitch. I was just never good at it.
2/4 seam fastball. Circle change. Curveball. Sinker. Knuckleball
Hello, my name is Renan. I would like to ask if you could put Portuguese subtitles in your videos.
I'm not sure how to do that. But I would love to.
+YouGoPro what a pity. But thanks for replying. hug. And Congratulations on the videos, they help a lot.
I throw a 4 seam a 12-6 a slurve and a Vulcan
my 2 seam dropped like crazy because of the spin I get on it
Nice
I throw a 2 seam fastball, 4 seam fastball, and a sinker
the star changeup is the easiest to throw and it drops when you spin it off your fingertips
about 57-66 mph 4 seam fastball, nasty curveball (best pitch), sinker, circle change
I throw a 4 seam and 2 seam, nasty slider, and a change up. Working on a 12-6
cool
I've heard that ur supposed to hold the Vulcan like an egg really softly
I'm the best in the league and I only use a circle and a sinker and cutter. I'm 11
It looks like the Vulcan and Circle are labeled backwards on the thumbnail photo.

I’m 5 years late to the party, but it looks like the thumbnail is a bit off. The grips for the circle and vulcan changeups are mixed up

“On a forkball you’re splitting between your pointer finger and your middle finger, on the Vulcan it’s in between you middle finger and your pointer finger” words of wisdom from the man himself lol
I watch both channels but, Martymusic and John Madden look like twins
I'm in high school and I throw a fork ball & it's nasty
Niiiice!
how do I throw a ephies
Throw the ball super slowwww
Throw* and circle*
Got my 11 year old son, lefty, throws mid 50s+ fastball, throwing vulcan tonight, and its falling right off the table. This thing is gonna get some ugly swings and misses!!
2-Seam, 4-Seam, Circle-Change, and a Slip/Curve ball
