You simply can not beat good clean analogue audio from older rigs in quieter environments. But for a lot of hams noise blankers and DSP are the only options.

The noise blanker only subdued the noise, it never got rid of the noise.
can you tell me how good is the AM mode reception for shortwave and Ham?
Have you tride an MFJ 915 for the noise?
