This little old ford ranger is put together from about 4 different trucks and has been ragged out in these mountains so definitely needs some work.. When I get it on my f150 we will see what the difference is.. Watched since if you're videos. You got done good stuff 73
hOW OLD ARE YOUR SPARK PLUG WIRES? (don't go cheap on spark plug wires get the best silicone ) have you grounded the radio and the antenna to the chassis ? did you wire brush the spot on the frame ? did you wirebrush the battery ground to chassis (this one always rusts up . try some aluminum antizeise compund on the spots that rust up and see if it helps. a little of brake fluid and a brush to rusted areas overnight helps . I want those radios ! is the DNR turned off ?
I have recently took everything off the ford ranger for my 16 year old to drive it.. Wish I had made a follow up video.. I got ALL the noise out of the radio by bonding the cab of the truck to the bed. That was it. Put one 1 inch strap from the bed to the cab.. Just am old truck
7100 in my opinion is the better performing radio
And the 7100 is almost double the price. The DNR was off that could help and that could be a problem with wiring at the truck.
as always great video PJ AK4PJ my brother

??? There are 3 adj to the IC7100 NB, but you only adj "2" Depth? Adj 1 & 3 also. 3 is the width.
My first port of call RF gain . Yet you never seem to even think of adjusting the RF ? This will help .
The noise can be cut drastically, but it requires work and more money.
Most definitely.. Been playing with it. Bonding and searching with my snoop loop... But I was a little impressed with Roger's 7100 as a stand alone
