I still believe all reviewers should do a fan noise (and in the case of this Ultra Short Throw projector, coil noise) review as well. Some of Epson's latest Ultra Short Throw projectors are super quiet. ViewSonic's is 23db full force which is whisper quiet. Otherwise buyers will be shocked when they hear way too loud fans coming from their Ultra Short Throw projectors. Just my 2 pence....or whatever the people across the pond say. lol
@ 2:05, you NEVER use the Keystone correction to get an accurate picture geometry. Always level the physical device and only use keystone as a last resort. Keystone correction cause loss of clarity and crops your image. For a tech channel, you have made a huge error promoting keystone over properly setting up the device. I am a videographer and electronics tech with over 30+ years experience in both fields.
Hi, thank you for your great videos. Just bringing to your attention that the black vava is exactly the same as the white one. What you noticed as changes are just the latest software updates. I have the same features on my vava white. Just fyi.
Thanks for mentioning this. I ordered the black they sent a white one. I will likely keep the white one. Sounds like this will completely replace any tv you may own. I havent set mine up yet.
I wanted to get your opinion about which projector i should get. I’ve been doing a lot of research I narrowed it down to two projectors in my price range. I am torn picking between The XGIMI Aurora 4K Ultra Short laser projector, The VAVA 4K Ultra Short Throw Laser TV or The Hisense 100 L5F laser TV. I would like to get your Professional expertise on Which projector I should lean more towards
You speak very highly of this Vava projector but i read many reviews on this system on Amazon. There were many complains about it....from its lousy interface to many technical glitches and failures and poor customer service also.. Do you work for them? How do you respond to so many complaints? If anyone did due diligence in checking the Vava out and saw all those complaints they would never buy this unit.
Question for those with short throw projectors. How difficult is it keeping the unit or table it sits on clean? Or how often does it get accidentally out of place?
i am generally interested in knowing more about how it operates in daylight only because my house has alot of windows and does get very bright at times. Can anyone relate to this or let me know more about my concern?
100" isn't big enough...lol yeah sounds crazy but I always felt like you need 120" to get the full cinematic experience. Mainly cause movies are never full screen with the horizontal black bars
@@puckhead1221 that's my point, 100" is plenty big enough at the correct seating distance. Just a blanket statement that 100" isn't big enough makes no sense
@@yougs02jrt if you're going to go big...go 120" at least...not 100" is my opinion. While 100" is good if the movie has horizontal black bars it's not big enough. But this is projector...if you don't have the space go OLED to the size that suits your viewing distance.
Guys can you imagine how expensive a 150 inch oled TV would cost? It all depends on what you want, I have a 65 inch oled and the vava pair with vividstorm screen. Obviously oled will have a better image but it can't beat the size of the screen.
Question? Love VAVA projector. Image is amazing. Would like to add surround sound (which I define as “wow, that sound def came from behind me”). I’m pulling content from my Apple TV 4K (movies I purchased, plus streaming content from Disney plus and Netflix). I bought a sound bar but I’m replacing it with a system that has 2 rear speakers. (VIZIO SB3651ns-H6 36” 5.1 Channel Home Theater Surround Sound Bar with Bluetooth- DTS Virtual:X, Slim Wireless Subwoofer, HDMI ARC) When the VIZIO arrives, will I be able to get the surround sound experience using Dolby Digital 5.1 and ARC?
Is there any way to automatically switch to connected hdmi input? Yeah you can define one for boot but best would be when it’s automatically done for all three hdmi.
Single player games are manageable and beautiful, but multiplayer games or games that require precise timing can be frustrating as the input lag is 100 ms
@@Sixotoo I got my VAVA from BUYDIG, a known Jersey based seller recommended by Cnet. Actually, They still going for $1985.00 before tax ($2084.00 for me, here in Pittsburgh) Right now, their sold out...but check back. Discount code Is: CHEAPSK8
Projector looks great, I'm seriously looking into one of these & this is one that is definitely drawing my attention. PS great choice of song btw during the sound test... I love Gloria Tells.
Have you tested this projector with the right blind up? I’m looking at this projector and the optoma p2 for our home, but we have a massive window in the same position as the window with the closed blind.
I reviewed the same projector. I have an elite screen 100+ inch screen with blinds to the left and right of the projector. I tested blinds open, blinds closed and in darkness. I performs as he says.
As soon you said about the app store i stopped watching. It looks likes an AMAZING device BUT for $2000+ it most definitely have all the standard app stores available today. And yes, I understand I can get fire stick BUT for this price it should come with it
So besides the added ceiling mounts and black color, what is different about the black version? Can the white version also do 3D and play music with the screen off?
Yea but a 100” OLED would be like $100k. Where a projector really shines is when it’s 120-130”, and we won’t see 120” tv’s under $30k in the next 10-20 years. And if they did make them they would be junky at a price under $10k. Sony & Samsung make a 100” screen and are around $12-$15k. They weigh around 300lbs. A laser projector will last for over 20,000 hours without degrading in light output or picture quality. That’s in the neighborhood of 15-20 years of use.
I would NEVER us a projector for a center channel. They do not have the proper timbre to them. Always use a separate speaker attached to your sound system.

Is there any projector that lets you use the speaker as the center channel. Seems to be a wasted feature if you're going with a home theater
It is a poor idea as they are not of a good quality for the purpose. ALWAYS use a dedicated speaker.

the black one now has mounting feet so you can mount from ceiling
Is the image stationary? Can you project it lower in case the furniture is too tall?

Is it just a single laser? How would it match up to the double or triple laser projectors like the LG, Samsung, or Polaris?
Does it get android updates?
Should have had a black case to begin with. Would have sold more of them.

If you use slow mo so much, maybe film in 120fps so you can actually slow down without the jitter...
How is it for gaming?

Just got my vava projector for 1950 with their black friday code
I also picked up the black VAVA on sale! Was looking for a PS5, but it was a better business decision to pay for this over a "Scalped" PS5 price.
Great Price - well done!
Brilliant decision, wait a month and the PS5 will be easy to get hold of.

On the Amazon link it says no 3D on the projector

Better than jmgo s3?
why is this 4k short throw so much cheaper than the rest? im seeing this at 700USD vs 2k USD

The optical port
What about motion handling ,input lag, fan loudness??
No issues, watch football on it and it's great - fan is also very quiet.
Link doesn't work? 🤷🏻♂️
Hmm no results for this on Amazon and their site currently says "Orders for the United Kingdom (Currently Unavailable)"
You can buy it direct just search VAVA it gets sent via Germany
The link for amazon uk doesn’t work, same with the other amazon links too.
It seems it os currently only on amazon us.
Is this a laser DLP with or without colorwheel(s)?
Laser projector
Nice review however software sucks for android version 7. Unless there's an update to at least android 9 I won't buy.

I think the white one has had some software updates since I reviewed it, but not sure if it now does exactly the same
Does it go up to 120"?
Yes easily will go to 150 if you have the screen / wall for it.
Is there a 4K ust 120fps projector?
Not yet.
100 inch screen is not impressive in my opinion when you can get a 86 inch 4K TV for less than 2 Grand.
If you had a choice over this or any Q/OLED TV @100", which would you pick?
for the same price?! obviously OLED 100 inch

I've read that it can be switched between 50Hz and 60Hz, is that correct ?
Yes
No point in doing a review tbh as it's just a black version of the white one
