Hi Guys! Check the newest video review for VAVA 4k black edition, ua-cam.com/video/ZZVqXOM8bXo/v-deo.html Now it comes with 3D, ceiling mounts and it have some extra features added over software updates.
I have the Xiaomi Wemax pro and I noticed on some movie content the color is washed out. However, I can adjust it somewhat but it's not quite accurate. Also, the lag time is over 100 ms and it's not good for gaming. How fast is the VAVA?
It's a nice projector but it cost 3000 dollars or 2570 Euros. That is a lot compare to Xiaomi Laser projector and with minimal difference in Quality.actually I could buy two Xiaomi Projectors for that price. Thank you for your video. Very professional.

Missing some details - like the remote control technologies, iR or RF, backlit keys. Bluetooth version. Remote via WLAN. USB Port Generation and how it "behaves" when add to a switch - fast enough to use it for 4K from an HDD/SSD/stick. Is the GB Ethernet limited like it was on so many (older) android devices. Well sometimes details matter too. A nice and unbiased review though. I'd like to see more in the future especially comparisons that factor in stuff like the initial cost/price, cost by power consumption, warranty, availability "promise" for spare and "service" parts. No comparisons necessary for very different models - of course a 30 000 US$ player will perform differently. On the other hand a much "cheaper" outlier should be very positively mentioned.
Hi, I never use the presets in any TVs or projectors, I calibrate the settings in the dark, using a thx calibration, or a test pattern, the presets are not correct, I like to see a correctly adjusted picture. Regards Gary, cheers
Александр Тишков The lag is high 90/100ms pretty much the same as other UST laser projectors om the market regardless of price point. These type of projectors are not made for FPS games.
@Teddy Dreyfus as a gamer for over 40 years I can tell you that most TVs have a 90Ms + input lag so unless you are playing on an expensive monitor that's what you are experiencing now, it's not too bad, is it? but I would wait until they have the tek more refined and the price goes down this is still pre alpha stuff. but if you have the money by a nice 65 inch OLED with low input lag.
Alot of people ask me about input lag and gaming and I told myself: Ok that's it I'm getting a game console! Yesterday I go out and brought a PS4 pro, to test input lag in real life screnario(during gaming). When I got home I connect everything, set it up,download a few games and try it out. Let me tell you that input lag is not that bad at all, controller feels responsive and gaming on this huge screen and projector was very cool. So far I try out a few games, NFS Payback, Hitmen, Far cry 4, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and a few free demo FPS games(don't know the names right now I will check it later and edit the comment). Anyway, I got to tell you that gaming on this projector and ps4 pro was very cool experiance! Huge screen in 4K with awesome graphic... It was just wow! Games look fantastic and the gameplay was very nice. At first I did not noticed any high input lag so I played for a few hours and then I took my 27 inch monitor(4ms) and do a comparison between projector and the monitor. First I played on the monitor for a 10 minutes then I switch to the projector and then again for the few cycles. At first I did felt a tiny bit of lag on the projector compared to the monitor, but then my brain adjust to it and I played normaly again, so for casual games and single player games, input lag is not that big of a deal in my opinion. Of course am not a hard core gamer on the console controller and for me playing FPS games(shooting and aiming) on the controller is really hard and slow compare to the mouse and keyboard( I'm PC gamer). So I definatly need time to get used to it. Of course I wil test out more games and soon I will make a seprate video review only about gaming on this projector but so far not bad at all.

nice video mate. In the beginning 1:08 the Vava projector's box says it has support for DTS HDa nd dolby audio. which version of DTS and Dolby is supported by Vava when compared to xiaomi 4k?
Would love to have side by side real world footage with some standard LED TV during daytime. Last time I've played with projectoras `3 years ago and all of them were sucks regardless of price point. I use 80inch LED since then but would be happy to get 150inch if performance is comparable.

Hello Nexi Tech, you have tested and compared the VAVA 4K, Wemax A300 4K and Xiaomi 4K projectors. In your opinion which one did you find the best to be used on a 120 '' Floor Rising ALR Projection Screen?
André Melo They are all working very good with 120inch floor rising ALR screen but I would give slight advantage to the Vava just because it's the more brighter projector. It's not like day and night difference but it is noticeable especially when ambient light is present. If you watching movies in more darker room or with low ambient light then Xiaomi Milja 4k laser projector will work just fine.
Nexi! please try to get your hands on the new Xiaomi Mijia Laser Projector 1S 4K Version to review (released yesteday 6/9/2020) it looks like it will be the best ust laser to get! 4k native and 30% brighter!. Still under 3,000 USD!
Hi friend good review however you should provide the compression between vava and the latest model of xiaomi and not with old models Mean you already have wemax a300 you should make a comparison between this model and vava as the picture and shape. We request you kindly to provide the compression between VAVA and Wemax a300 in order to provide fo the reviewer a fair comparison VAVA 4K vs WEMAX A300 4K Looking forward to hear from you very soon
Thanks my friend, I'm sorry but I disagree. My Xiaomi laser projector from the video (MJJGTYDS01FM) is the latest 4k laser projector from the Xiaomi 2019 model (6 months old). Wemax A300 is basically the same re-branded Xiaomi projector with the same number of lasers, with the same power output, with the same software(only added 8 points keystone), in the same case(only front cover is changed) etc. They only difference in terms picture quality between Xiaomi 4k and Wemax A300 is that Wemax A300 comes differently calibrated out from the box but with added too much brightness in the software on all picture profiles, which makes dark scenes in the movies with high contrast to look more washed out. If you own Wemax A300 try to lower the brightness in the movie picture profile from 50 to 47 for example and you will see what I mean. You will get much better contrast and deeper blacks level then on stock profiles. Also the problem is that Wemax a300 cost the same as the VAVA or even more. That's why comparing VAVA 4k with the Xiaomi 4k Laser projector is making much more sense because the price point and the real difference between hardware and software between these projectors. In this case buyers can choose between more costly VAVA projector which has more powerful laser output, better calibrated colors but with no 3D support(for now), compare to the Xiaomi 4k which has less laser power output with slightly less calibrated colors, better audio software and with the 3D support.
@@kuriwar Check out his A300 comparison and see the lumes output..or just compare the a300/xiaomi 4k image quality differences in that video, which are tiny and then look at this video again and you see that the vava seems to outperform the a300 as well.
Many thanks for the reply however I already change the brightness from 50 to 40 and still the picture is amazing on the wemax a300 weather with 4k hdr or 1080 or 720 it's still better than the TV I mean I dont own VAVA but if you need to close the issue with other people you have to make the compression between vava and wemax a300 as I remember you already own one so you can make this comparison Looking forward to hear from you very soon
Hi. I can't find comparison between Epson EB-L400U and Epson 6050UB for home theater. Could you tell something about it? (black levels, HDR?, absence of "4K" resolution, laser technology advantages) Thanks.
Is it possible to use the built-in speaker as an active or passive center-speaker in a 5.1-system? Sony does something similar with the KD-65AF9-OLED-TV
You keep saying that the vava has a much better image, with more details, but if you look at your own video, it looks like the xiaomi does better in low light, showing more details. Look at Tom Cruises hair for instance in the scene where he is tied up... I can see much more on the Xiaomi compared to the Vava. Also, the Vava is 1000USD+ more than the Xiaomi...
According to what i see from this video, vava just have a different adjustments of briteness, contrast and saturation. So black and colors look better but xiaomi shows more details in shadows. It seems that if you set lower briteness and higher contrast and saturation on xiaomi, you will get the same image...
Interface and Hardware very similar to the Xiaomi Wemax. I have the Version2 (the box that came after the white one) But this does not seem like a giant upgrade from my Wemax. Is there an 8K version?
Great review. Short and concise. So both the Xiaomi and Vava do not have native Netflix support. You recommend tv boxes but do you also have experience with the Chromecast or Chromecast Ultra. Will that setup allow for 4K playback?
For anyone considering this type of setup, I'm here to tell you a few downsides of this setup. First consider your floor material before buying. The UST screen doesn't do Jack with my white floor tiles lol. Even with all the windows blinds closed is still far from what would you get on a TV screen. So if you have gloossy floor I would reconsider. You would also not have the same results with the lights on unless your floor is black, your ceiling light will bounce off the floor on to your screen, I would say results about 80% of when you have lights completely off. I also have a Mibox S 4k for my xiaomi 4k projector, somehow the projector doesnt interpret Netflix properly (dont know if its the box or projector). The projector fades the blacks if you are watching a movie thats mostly night, dark scenes or a have film grade its barely watchable. But it is better on the other apps like Disney plus and youtube. If anyone else having this issue let me know. Input lag seem to be around half a second, overcooked on the switch was not a pleasant experience. Overall my experience is these projectors perform mindblowing well during day time scenes like the costa rica youtube video its jaws dropping, night scenes is very lacking blacks are just not there, if you are consuming HD none 4k content it seems less impressive than on a normal TV.
@@JoelsterG4k Well, it is a UST ALR screen reject light from the top and sides only receive from the bottom. i dont have problem with light coming from top or sides my floor tiles are reflecting light from the bottom.
Amazing review, I’m looking at An UST projector as an option to upgrade m’y Telly. Does it need any maintenance? The lifespan is 25,000. Does it mean the projector needs to be trash and buy a new one or one element from the projector can be replaced to extend the lifespan of the projector? Thanks in advance for your reply

Great Review! How does the Vava hold up to something like the LG HU85LA-4K-UHD-Laser-Ultra-Short-Throw Projector? I know its two completely companies, but was curious if the Vava holds its ground?
Potentially dumb question, but can this be ceiling mounted? Would be nice to get rid of the cabinet entirely and use the whole wall without putting it on the floor.
I think you should also give a review on LG hu85la if possible. I know it can't be compared to this specially with the price point but there's no good reviews on LG hu85la on youtube so far.
I only have 120inch screen but I have myself tested this projector on the white wall in dark room (around 135 inch) and picture was still very sharp and detailed.
very nice. good job! after watching your Xiaomi movie, i bought the 4K Xiaomi for a project for a client. Very nice to hear, there is a projector with better colors. When i tried the Xiaomi at my home, i projected directly to the wall. The problem is that my wall is not perfectly flat. it has some little ripples. the projection-angle of this short throw projectors is so steep, that even this small ripples on the wall throw a little shadow. These little shadows look like little black points in the projected picture. So it looks like the resolution wouldn't be good. not enough pixels. But of course, it's only the shadows of my walls surface. Now my question to you. In my opinion, it is very cool to have a projector at home. i don't have a TV or a frame on my wall, while i'm not using the projector. You have a permanent screen installed at your wall at home. Is there any solution for a good "pull-down projection-screen" extra for short throw projectors?
Hi There! I have been watching some of your videos and I was interested in putting together a kit for the bedroom. But the hotlinks in your previous videos about the mechanized drop-down ALR screens are not going anywhere anymore. So first I wanted to ask if you know of a Ceiling-mounted laser projector and electrical drop-down ALR screen that does around 55" diagonal (not enough ceiling for bigger :( ).If they also delivered to the UK that be fantastic! Much appreciated!
wow, looking at the comparison the vava is far superior. The colors are so rich and vibrant unlike the xiaomi. Like the fire scene in avatar. Darker blacks too. Also you can actually see how youtube is compressing the video with the color banding in the blacks even though video is 4k. Skin tones are warmer on the vava, which I prefer but this is preference, not a quality difference.
I will never understand why they put speakers inside those projectors...when you have the cash to pay for these projector you have the sound system to go along, not some crappy speakers. And the price would be lower without these integrated speakers.
Beside used for home cinema, these projectors are very good TV replacements as well and many people will use inbuilt speakers for 80% of the time. Not everyone just watches movies all day long and listen surround sound system on very loud volume. For the record, I did not say that speakers are bad, I just said that speakers lack the low and deep bass compare to my Xiaomi laser projector because VAVA lack surround sound effect and equalizer in software audio settings. Speakers in VAVA produce very clean and balanced sound and they can go very loud. Most of the people will be very happy with the inbuilt speakers for sure.
It makes more sense than a standard throw projector which also commonly have speakers. At least with ultra short throw the speaker is in front of you. Yes, they suck in comparison but not completely useless.
These video clips are recorded with stock movie profile on both projectors with the same camera setings. For sure you can custom tweak image parameters and colors and try to match them both as closely as possible. Honestly I could show much more video comparison in movies but I'm afraid that I could get copyright issues so I keep movie comparison as short as possible. I wish that I can upload one hour long video comparison of many 4K UHD blue ray disks movies that I have and give you guys even more information.
Great review. Just a question, VAVA claim 7.2" from the wall for 100" screen. Does that mean the 7.2" from the laser light to the wall or 7.2" from the machine to the wall? Do you know how far do I need for a 120" screen? Thank you.
Just did measuring. For 120 inch screen projector needs to be 31cm away from the screen or wall. That is the distance between the projector back panel (where cables go) and the screen. The protector itself is 36.5cm long and 53cm wide. The laser light glass is 30cm away from the projecor back panel or 6.5cm away from front panel. For 100inch screen projector back panel is 20cm away from the screen or wall. Please understand that those are my measurements with physical knobs screen adjustment on the projector and software adjustment (keystone) to fit my screens in my setup. Yours measurements can vary. P.S. Please you do conversion on Google from cm to Inch. I hope that I helped.

Hi friend good review however you should provide the compression between vava and the latest model of xiaomi and not with old models
Mean you already have wemax a300 you should make a comparison between this model and vava as the picture and shape.
We request you kindly to provide the compression between VAVA and Wemax a300 in order to provide fo the reviewer a fair comparison
VAVA 4K vs WEMAX A300 4K
Looking forward to hear from you very soon
@@NexiTech In the description page it says that the Wemax A300 has 9000 lumens and 4000:1 contrast ratio. is that not true?
@@kuriwar Check out his A300 comparison and see the lumes output..or just compare the a300/xiaomi 4k image quality differences in that video, which are tiny and then look at this video again and you see that the vava seems to outperform the a300 as well.
Many thanks for the reply however I already change the brightness from 50 to 40 and still the picture is amazing on the wemax a300 weather with 4k hdr or 1080 or 720 it's still better than the TV
I mean I dont own VAVA but if you need to close the issue with other people you have to make the compression between vava and wemax a300 as I remember you already own one so you can make this comparison
Looking forward to hear from you very soon
Mohammed Hindi He answered you extensively, please read it again.
Excellent review !!! VAVA wins !
Thanks! Please check the new review video: ua-cam.com/video/ZZVqXOM8bXo/v-deo.html
Maybe you could make an update when the 3D comes out. That's one of the most important features for big screens.
stratogustav That's good idea.
What a fantastic comparison! Amazing...
jeevavanantham Karu Thank you so much!
no comparison no harm, also no profect thing, the one suit you is the best
Hi. I can't find comparison between Epson EB-L400U and Epson 6050UB for home theater. Could you tell something about it? (black levels, HDR?, absence of "4K" resolution, laser technology advantages) Thanks.
Excellent now how much is VAVA in Shillings or dolla projector
Is it possible to use the built-in speaker as an active or passive center-speaker in a 5.1-system? Sony does something similar with the KD-65AF9-OLED-TV
You keep saying that the vava has a much better image, with more details, but if you look at your own video, it looks like the xiaomi does better in low light, showing more details. Look at Tom Cruises hair for instance in the scene where he is tied up... I can see much more on the Xiaomi compared to the Vava.
Also, the Vava is 1000USD+ more than the Xiaomi...
What measurements should the tv stand be for my vava projector? I was thinking about getting a 11.9 w x 70 L
Thanks for the review. What screen are you using? Thank you
Better than jmgo s3?
Ur reviews are very nice..and show u care abt what u do....subscribed
And am buying tht vava 4k
Will look for the android box too
Thank you so much my friend! Check the new video VAVA ua-cam.com/video/ZZVqXOM8bXo/v-deo.html
Good review. Would have been really nice to have pricing information
Trevor Matthews Thank you!
For price please check link in video description.
Best way of presentation mr
Thank you!
Amazing review. Subscribed!
Vava is notorious for having horrible support. I was considering purchasing until I saw all the negative comments on their Facebook page.
How is the noise that is produced by the unit not the speakers?
Thank you very much!!!! Super cool comparison. Will also consider to buy a Vava now 😉
the Harman Cardon Speaker inside seems not bad, good projector also needs a good PET crystal screen
According to what i see from this video, vava just have a different adjustments of briteness, contrast and saturation. So black and colors look better but xiaomi shows more details in shadows. It seems that if you set lower briteness and higher contrast and saturation on xiaomi, you will get the same image...
Nice projector good reviews but if I will need choose I Will Go for vava but for that price you can get 2 Xiaomi projector
For these projectors use an ALR screen and you will see much better results.
@@JoelsterG4k Well, it is a UST ALR screen reject light from the top and sides only receive from the bottom.
i dont have problem with light coming from top or sides my floor tiles are reflecting light from the bottom.
Thanks for the video. What's the deal with the Optomas 2.5 million to 1 contrast ratio. Why is there such a big difference !
It's good that you show films for compare. Good work. Like
Thanks, Well I could show alot more but I'm afraid that I could get copyright strike so I keep the movie screen comparison as short as possible.
@@NexiTech use royalty free videos, so no copyright issues there. or maybe movie trailers.
Loved the review. Just missing information/comparison about gaming behavior....but tks anyway.
Thanks!
Nice review and i like the Vava. I am living in Sweden and wonder how much is the charge (Tull and Moms) to import a Laser Projector?
Thanks for the review, very professional.
Maybe its just me, but I prefer the color in Xiaomi. However, I think the color can be caliberate for both unit. Nice review.
Thanks, YEs, for sure it can, this is just comparison with stock picture profile. Thanks for your comment.
What sort of screen- affordable- would you recommend for laser projector ? Than you
What are the settings for the picture? Looks amazing.
The standard settings. I didn't changed anything.
Thank you.
I think you should also give a review on LG hu85la if possible. I know it can't be compared to this specially with the price point but there's no good reviews on LG hu85la on youtube so far.
I just reviewed that projector and it is awesome, it is more expensive but it is well worth it.
And what about the sony VPL VZ 1000ES ?
Hi greetings from France, thanks lot for this test, I have purchased Fengmi WEMAX A300 is the Vava is better ? your opinion ? merci
Hi there! Have you tried to obtain a larger diagonal screen, up to 200 inches? I wander how much this is affecting the resolution/brightness. Thanx
I only have 120inch screen but I have myself tested this projector on the white wall in dark room (around 135 inch) and picture was still very sharp and detailed.
Can you compare this to Wemax A300?
can you compare this vava projector vs wemax a300 vs optoma p1? thanks!
Very interesing Wemax a300 side to side (looks like xiaomi sticker (rebranding) from that people).
very nice. good job!
after watching your Xiaomi movie, i bought the 4K Xiaomi for a project for a client.
Please compare Fengmi A300 with Vava. I have the former and planning to buy another one for other room.
When does the update come out to watch 3D movies on VAVA projector?🤔🤔🤔
The 3D update is now available!
@@NexiTech how much it cost ????
Nice bro,so how do you change the laser , after the life span ended and any idea about the cost ?
I’m having trouble finding a projector screen for this projector. Can you please recommend some, I am looking for 120 inch UST ALR with grey screen
Great review!
wow, looking at the comparison the vava is far superior.
Very nice clean clear review.
Thank you very much!
The picture on the Vava looks a bit more washed out in my opinion. Nice review.
I really don't like integrated speakers too.
What is rational is actual and what is actual is rational, every man has his hobby, so it is there
Vizio ATMOS 36512 soundbar for $300
what about a comparison not using the movie mode preset? i bet you could make these two look very similar with some calibration on the xiaomi side
@@NexiTech Thanks for your detail responses. Very useful information, much appreciated mate!
