Previously had 2 Hella 450s retrofitted to my dad's Sunny 130Y, due to frequent morning fog and almost daily pre-dawn and night time driving during college days. Car was already sold but I kept the lights, still in good working condition even after 15 years. Can't go wrong with Hella products.
Those are great lights and I think they look good. But pointing them down defeats the entire purpose of them. They are meant to see long range down the road. They are not meant to be used on the street with oncoming traffic even if they are pointed down. And they should not be tied to the fog lights, because fog lights and those spotlights are for completely opposite purposes.
When i was a kid my father’s audi 100 C2 fitted with hella spotlight upfront direct fit on the bumper..Btw check out rallye quattro spotlight, 3 pairs per side!
Most of the time, Japanese grey import are of higher quality in upkeep and lower mileage. Radio frequency limited to below 90mhz. UK imports vary greatly in specifications, higher risk of accident cars, high mileage cars and rusted cars. Basically lower quality, but you have a chance of buying superbly high spec cars or extremely low specced cars.
You are an enthusiast who knows what you are doing. The problem is... if you might create a trend where every “know it all” car owners install Hella on their car. What will happen? Not a smart idea. I am sure you do not want everyone to install Hella on their car and “High Beaming” other car, right?

Oooooooooyeah, they are. Lot's of different taxes. And you can't just buy a car in Germany(cheaper) because then you still have to pay import taxes when you want dutch licenseplates. And you can't just drive with German plates because of european and dutch laws.
Dude, this is the stupidest mod I've ever seen. My the hell would you point them into the road?? 🤦♂️ you are suppose to aim them completely level at a wall from 3m. This way you get the correct isometrics. All you have done is make a massive hot spot and ruin the thousands of hours of R&D done by light engineers.
