I'm also a visual learner, and this video was perfect. I recently moved into a rural area and have been wanting to wire up my own LED bar to my Escape. I feel more empowered now.
Cody I've been a subscriber since before you hit 100k, that's my only claim to fame... I loved your old videos, they were so informative and original and that's why I've continued to follow your content. These "common mans workshop" vidoes are a return to your original style and they are a refreshing change of pace compared to some of your other recent videos concerning your diet and so on. Keep up the manly manners and other masculine nuggets of information. As a young man, mid 20s, the knowledge you share on a daily basis in invaluable.
That is awesome Cody! When I was younger and working in the oil fields of Texas I used to drive with the light bar on my work truck. Whenever I started doing that I never had any close calls with deer. Most of the time it gave the deer a heads up that I was coming.
0 seconds ago I watched this video years ago. Just got a Ford transit and thought - "hey my buddy Cody did a playlist on his old transit" Such a great investment.
That's really slick, I never thought about wiring my lights like that! Thanks so much for the new idea, and I will be doing the same. What a wonderful set up. Thanks again.
Great vidio!! I was looking for a way to install my light bar without messing up the factory wire harnas this is just what I was looking for. Thank You so much and God Bless you and your family.
Great video. A lot of people don't really understand how to wire these extra lights, especially these led lights. You explained it in a very understandable manor.
I just Finally realised why I Love watching you so much!!When I was a Lil dummy back in the seventies I used to watch a series called EMERGENCY and my hero was Johnny Gage and you kinda look like him....just figured that out tonight...but what a discovery because I named my first boy Gage and didnt even know why....
I'm a volunteer firefighter/EMT in a very rural area and have my auxiliary lights wired similarly but not using a double pole switch. They can only come on with the high beams or I can flip the switch they they stay off even if the high beams are on. I figured when I need the auxiliary lights I'd have my high beams on too. We have a big problem with deer at night as well as various other wildlife. After about 6PM there is pretty much no one else on the road and we get a lot of medical calls in the middle of the night.
Did you do this by just using an on/off toggle switch? This is how I want to wire mine as well.Do I just come out of the fuse box to the switch instead of having to run battery to switch? Obviously I would still run battery to relay but wasn’t sure that I needed to run to switch as well.
Thanks bro. I wish all tutorials were this in depth and not full of b.s. i subscribed as well. Its been a long time since ive hit that button for anyone. Headed to that other site as well. Thanks again
Thanks for another year of your creativity, sharing your family’s celebrations, and helping publicize alternative solutions so creators don’t have to bend to the tyranny of censors. Merry christmas.C
Cody, I love the fact that you have to remind people that we're all adults, we don't need comments about what not to do, and that we should always use best judgment with everything. I got a good snicker of you having to throw that out to the "Safety Sallys" as you call them!
Your video helped me a lot! The only issue I ran into, while hooking up my light bar, was that there wasn't enough power to the high beam fuse to actuate the relay I used (car solenoid). To solve this problem I used a quick-splice harness and tapped into the high beam wire directly. It worked! Thank you
Thanks for this video... just bought my truck and I’m living out in rural Ohio... I wanted to hook the bar, I’m going to buy, up to the high beams... this is super helpful
This is similar to what I've been looking for. I live in the midwest on a lot of back roads and I like to light up the world when I'm watching for deer and other critters. I have all of my light bar and pods on a switch panel to be turned on/off independently, but have always wanted to be able to kill them all when I dim my high-beams, so I don't have to hit multiple buttons to turn them all off when there's an oncoming car.
Cody I am sure glad you put the link for bit Chute because I would have never found it otherwise since I cannot spell as well as I read! I love the old style toggle switches! There easier to find than a black button on the dashboard which I find hard to see in the dark! If they had lighter colors I could find them in the dark! I know they wouldn’t be as slick looking but they would be more user friendly. I have been wanting to get a generator for a long time but I can’t justify it with the family but still feel like its better to be safe than sorry for not being prepared ahead of time. Cody I like what you are doing with your new back up system with all your videos! A wise person always tries to think about the what if’s especially with the changing tides of You Tube!! You ant pay for peace of mind if you don’t have a backup plan for many the most important things that might make all the difference in your life and taking care of your family and helping others that might need your help in a pinch!
Good idea on the three-way switch wiring for your light bar! Hope to do that soon on my plow truck when I have time. Thanks for introducing us to Bitchute and explaining why you are uploading there. As a fellow creator, I've also been nervous about having all of my content on UA-cam and nowhere else, so I'm definitely going to start creating a backup there myself as well. Stay warm!
Ah now I'm off to wire up my air horns for the van. A different sound gets their attention and the quicker they move off the road. Great idea about the separate fuse. Happy Christmas to you and your family. Looking forward to another year with you guys.
The visual explanation greatly helped me understand how I can rewire my reverse pods (to turn on to deal with tailgaters and such) and how to wire some new lights I plan to add soon. I doubt I'll ever rewire my lightbar like this although it would be very nice. I like my Sasquatch rocker switch too much to get rid of it. That piggy back fuse seems like it will be a great help as well
Great video and it is nice to see someone demonstrate the correct way to wire something like this up to often you see videos of people wiring lights up in a way that you really should not do nice to see it done correctly
That's really clean man, I was going to just add one of those old floor high beam switches for my dog lights but I'm going to go with this set up. Thank you! I don't like ghetto.
Hi friend, your video was really informative and well presented. You deserve your....what? 1.45 million subscribers! Wow, you’re a star! Anyway, great video!
That was prob the most useful and helpful with as straightfoward directions as possible. Also best thing for generators is to use propane and eliminate gas this way is way more efficient and never have to worry about a dirty carb
You can't go wrong with a Honda small engine. Hands down. My lawnmower's, generator's, gas water pump, rototiller leaf blower etc are all Honda. Lightwieght, quiet, easy to use, and the lawnmower (walk behind) is so easy to use my elderly (in her 70's) mother still mows her own lawn using the Honda I bought her for Mama's day 6 years ago.
I love how you can put the nay sayers and keyboard warriors in their place before the video has even finished! That’s a wealth of experience uploading to UA-cam speaking right there. I loved the visual aid that really helped me.
I bet that adventure van is impressive in the dark. The small generator is a neat idea. I may invest in one of those at some point. The larger ones we have are irritating to move around. Neat wiring demonstration :)
oh i thought i needed to cut into the high beam harness on the headlights to make this possible. thanks alot! helped me out before i did something stupid
Cody, Excellent video, my only clarifying question is I "assume from your power routing explanation" that shows the bottom red wire in the video is actually not connected to the battery it is connected to the main fuse thru the high beam fuse? so high-beam power comes from the vehicles fuse box, NOT the battery them when the switch is flipped to the opposite side it has power directly form the batter and is independently powered. Is this correct?
As always, enjoyed your video, thanks for teaching. I do have a question if you don't mind. If you use a led lighted switch, it requires a ground, and a hot in and a hot out to your lights. So you used a non-lighted switch and put three hots into a three way switch? Thanks again.

Are you sure? please tell me more how to do this,
Done
if youtube nukes your channel we will attack them like we attacked bathesda when they had that paid mods scandal
@@wranglerstar I think they have to set it up for you. I tagged both of you on Twitter because I know they check their twitter page.
As a visual learner, this was awesome. You taught me something new, I genuinely thank you! :)
3 way switch. Nice. You have both factory and off-road lighting systems. Sweet setup.
Relays are great.
I'm only 14 an im an visual learner came from an axe vid so this may help me when I'm adult
Why is he using a solenoid if relays are great?
@@jarmik3758 that is a relay
@@zeppelin926 In Finland that's called starter solenoid, light switch relays are much smaller here.
I love the old videos! Lots of good information, no drama, more about content than production value, not trying to be tv. When youtube was great!
honestly i wasn’t a fan of the adventure van but after all this stuff i have to say you’ve done some amazing work and makes me want to buy one myself
I'm also a visual learner, and this video was perfect. I recently moved into a rural area and have been wanting to wire up my own LED bar to my Escape. I feel more empowered now.

Just watched the WranglerStar 3-way switch with the piggy-back fuse routine for wiring my lights... Brilliant!
I know this is a very old video but it is the clearest explanation of doing this that I have ever seen - thanks
That is awesome Cody! When I was younger and working in the oil fields of Texas I used to drive with the light bar on my work truck. Whenever I started doing that I never had any close calls with deer. Most of the time it gave the deer a heads up that I was coming.
I wouldn’t hate on your old videos, they are a representation of just how far you’ve come. Merry Christmas and stay strong!
Was happy to see a WranglerStar video about this, thanks! I love watching your other stuff, this was a nice surprise.

Great video. A lot of people don't really understand how to wire these extra lights, especially these led lights. You explained it in a very understandable manor.
I used the same method on my land rover and tundra. Worked great. Good job!

Very helpful for adding lights in the rear, switched or reverse triggered. Nice. And the Honda EU2000i is awesome! Love mine, SO quiet !
I'm totally going to use this wiring system! Thank you Cody!

Thank you . This took possible hours of “over worrying” if it will work or not for my next little project ahead ..
Thank you 🙏🏻 kindly
Thanks for the visual aid. Totally clarified the mystery of home auto electrics
Merry Christmas to you and your Family

that rocker switc to optionally tie it into the highbeams is brilliant!
Thanks for such a great video!
Love your dedication to your videos 👍🏻 ps I remember you saying electrics wasn’t your thing but you seem to know and understand it pretty well 😂
I was really glad to see your info about the three-way switch set-up for the offroad lights.
Really helpful video, I’m currently wiring some spot lights to work the way you have shown thank you
Amazing video very educational thank you
Nicely done...thanks for sharing.
Been wanting to do this! Thanks!
What an awesome video! Thank you for all you do.
Thanks for this video..I used this to wire in mine...much appreciated
Wow! That fuse tail is a fantastic idea 👍👍👍
Good job on the demonstration!
The wall mounted tool storage looks awesome, can't wait for the tool organisation video on your channel 😬
I will check out the other site. Love watching the old videos.
Thank you for your great videos. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Many blessings and God bless.

Great video and it is nice to see someone demonstrate the correct way to wire something like this up to often you see videos of people wiring lights up in a way that you really should not do nice to see it done correctly

Very cool idea Evan all the wiring I have done awesome deal just click the high beams and dim it
Thank you Cody!!
Thanks for the explanation, I loved it.
Really like these adventure van videos you've put together. Makes me want to make one of my own
I know this is an older video but hope you can reply! Can you let me know what wires go to what relay post numbers? Thanks!
That is pretty awesome!
Great Lighting Illustration and I have created an account on the othe platform. Thank you.
Bravo, man! Gonna go this route on "my old KC " lights.
That was prob the most useful and helpful with as straightfoward directions as possible. Also best thing for generators is to use propane and eliminate gas this way is way more efficient and never have to worry about a dirty carb
Thanks for the video, gonna put one on the bumper of my '83 240, wanted to do exactly this

I’ve done everything you said when fitting my light but I have a permanent live from the piggyback fuse. Any advice please 🙏
Exactly what I needed to know

I loved the visual aid that really helped me.
He said don’t lecture the comments 😂 love it great video man keep rocking 🤙
Thank you very much Sir. I have been trying to find info on how to do this for my lights.
