In this video we continue the progress on the NBS Silverado Single cab Dually build. In this video we do a much needed tune up and replace the battery on the 6.0L LS engine Regular cab dually project. I noticed in the last few weeks that the truck was getting harder and harder to start. The battery isn't super old but needs to be replaced. I have the optima red top out of the obs setting and not being used so I decided it would be a good option. I do like the dry cell and we do plan to upgrade the stereo in this truck so the optima is probably a great upgrade. It is a pretty simple install and I show you how it goes in. Another thing I noticed when I started it was I could see one of the spark plug boots sparking to the manifold. This generally means we have a boot off or the wires are bad. Wow were they bad. When I pulled one off as you will see in the video, it falls apart. All of them did the same. I think it has the original plugs and wires in it. It was time for an upgrade with new MSD Spark plug wires and NGK Spark Plugs. The electrodes on the spark plugs were completely gone on more than half of the plugs. This had me thinking the air filter was probably original as well. So we replaced it with a new Wix Air filter. This thing is running so much better. If you need new spark plugs and spark plug wires for 4.8 5.3 6.0 or 6.2 this is a must watch video. Hit the Comments and let me know what you think.......

you should get the taylor cable 45° spark plug wires. been running mine for about two years and have never touched the long tube headers. and still look brand new

Gm factory plugs and wires are 150000 mile pieces. I did mine in 2020 or 2021.
These has 240k on them. Lol
Question: I have a misfire coming from cylinder 7. I have replaced plugs, corrol pack, wires. Also swapped them to other ones to see if they were bad. No luck truck runs kinda rough but nothing bad. Any ideas on what else to check

Man, interior parts are getting so dang expensive for our trucks. I wanted to do a center console. But I'm not going to pay 1k for one thats beat up. Im just going to make Baja/Prerunner style center console and install a Winter Gated Shifter. Great content man
EDIT: Im surprised you didn't just add a lil bit of ATF. I found ATF is amazing for getting the gunk out. Same thing, Add some ATF to engine oil. Maybe drive it for 50-100 miles. Engine oil change and new filter.

@@TWAMotorsports yeah the old ones looked pretty bad. I did my plugs and wires about 35,000 miles ago with AC Delco but not sure how much of a difference the ones you used would make since mine have already been replaced.
Im not a fan of oversized wheels, bigger tires yes is fine.
I don't see how you didn't have a bunch of misfire codes, at least every bit of life was used out of those plugs and wires. How many miles is on the engine? ✌🏻
