@@TWAMotorsportsHello I own a Chevrolet express 6.0 LQ4 with 90,000 miles, I live in France in a region where the climate is temperate, I do 6000 miles per year, I drive mainly in the summer, and I tow a 6000 lbs trailer, should I stick to the oil recommended by the manufacturer 5W30 or can I use a 5W40 for example???
@@TWAMotorsports In your opinion is it so serious to go from a 5w30 to a 5w40?, knowing that I drive the vehicle mainly in the summer where the temperature frequently rises to 100°F without forgetting that I am constantly towing a 6000lbs caravan , aren't you sure that the 5w30 is not a little too liquid to ride in these conditions???
Trick flow makes a plastic adapter for the timing chain uses the two bottom bolts from the cam retainer might be something to review in future builds I don’t know how well they hold up
I just learned that our last remaining engine machine shop has closed in my local town. Now we'll have to take engines to a city hours away and let them sit for weeks and months until they 'get to it'. Such a sad day.
Great information! I want to rebuild a lq9 for my blown v6 single cab. Around how much the shop charge you? The gen 4 style etc. If I can know. I want the most out of the motor for now (porting a new set of heads 243) and later on slap a LSA. Will be waiting for the next updates of this lq4!
The reason the Gen 3 pistons arent compatible with the Gen 4 rods is the Gen 3 rods and pistons use a press fit pin, the newer rods and pistons use a floating pin
How did you get into cars / trucks? Also getting the mechanical knowledge of taking apart a engine
LSXceleration has those lifters with gm for about 180 bucks same part number and all. you are overpaying
Nice job on building the 6.0 liter.. take your time with it...👍
Slow and Steady Keith. That's the plan
