I try to reply to 100% of all comments, i think there is a few that gets slip through the cracks here and there, or either youtube or my phone misses the notification 🙏❤️ thank you
This is my first stick and I'm liking it a lot. Feels very heavy and very high quality and looks and works great, plus it's small enough to store. I love it.
Man 8bitdo makes amazing stuff. Even when they get out of their "comfort zone", which worried me with this stick, they still deliver. I'm a pad player and I religiously use M30s to play all my fighting games. Mega Drive d-pad for the win!
saw from an Amazon review that the metal plates now have a large cut-out to accommodate some bigger sticks, (I don't know about fitting a Fanta or a Happ in there but apparently Seimitsu LS-32s fit better now) it's good to see 8bitdo is addressing criticisms quickly
I know this is an older video but I’m getting into arcade Shoot em Ups and have thought about using an arcade stick with my PC and Switch to play them with and see if I like it better than a controller. I’m completely new to everything, from using arcade stick, to modding, and this video helped me out a lot in understanding the inner workings of arcade sticks. Thank you so much for this review and your help.
I'm a middle age man and I miss the arcade scene. With arcades closing in Japan,I thought that playing those classic arcade games on the pc would be better and getting an arcade stick would be perfect for the nostalic feeling. Thank you for making this review of this arcade stick. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
I’ve almost never commented a video on UA-cam even though I’ve been watching videos here since 15 solid years but your review is so good I just had to. Thanks for putting so much effort in this video so us viewers can have a first in depth look before buying the actual stick. Explanations were crystal clear and every angle and feature was covered. My sister bought me that very stick that I will be receving in a few days, I can’t wait !
Thanks for going into such great detail with what all of the buttons do. A lot of other reviewers seem to gloss over things that are "obvious," but that's not really helpful to someone like me that doesn't really know much about sticks to begin with.
Randomly discovered your channel earlier this week via this video. I've since watched almost every video you've posted. Excellent, thorough, and laid-back style. I've always been exceptionally bad at fighting games, but your channel has inspired me to improve and even check out some sticks. I just hope being 32 doesn't make me a "fighting games geezer." Hehe! Take care and happy new year.
Thank you so much for the support, 🙏❤️i am very happy to hear the videos are helpful, it motivates me and keeps me going and continue to improve. You are still young my friend 👍😊
Just finally got my Switch and I'm getting back into fighting games again after selling all my sticks (over 15) years ago. I'm married now and my wife knows I (was) am a gamer. This is a good start into it...with this controller. Thanks for the great review. I just subscribed to your channel.
I just ordered this online based on my own research but this review definitely cemented my decision to buy this. Thank you. I've always been a big fan of 8BitDo and have used their universal controller for over two years and was happy to see that they had an arcade stick since I was about to shell out 300$ on a SnackBox V2 because I recently got into Tekken 7.
@@jhipex It works great. The only part I couldn't get to work is macros. But with enough tweaking I'm sure it can work. But for normal gameplay, the wired and wireless modes work flawlessly!
@@jhipex Well, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I'm sure you'll see a huge difference in your performance. I used to play with an Xbox controller and I have to say: I don't see myself going back to it!
Mine is coming in the mail tomorrow and was looking for a good overview about it and came across your video, it’s my first arcade stick and I’m even more excited for it after watching your video!!!
Best Arcade Sticks Channel, it's super complete! Great video as always :) i love that part when you open the stick, i'm always waiting for that part in every video ahaha.
Nice review! I really like the NES inspired design they chose when making this arcade stick. I think it might be worth pointing out the little amount of space you have when installing buttons. For most people replacing the stock buttons with Sanwa obsf 30 snap in buttons is easy. If you are interested in trying other buttons, however, you might run into some trouble with screw ins since the pcbs seem to get in the way. I also feel that not including quick disconnects for the lever is a deal breaker for most new-to-the-scene modders. As cool as this stick is... I think I'll just stick with my F500 for now. Looking forward to new uploads in the future.
Hey I've been playing since street fighter 2 and I can say that I never really understood the crux of using charge characters and after a couple of decades you managed to clear everything up for me. I swear like a epiphany
Amazing review! Just bought the arcade stick and it was delivered today. Looking forward to using it. Again, excellent, detailed review! I think you covered literally everything possible. Good work!
I think the reason 8BitDo uses a heart icon for the home button is because it doesn't always map to "home". On Windows, it tends to map to "Guide", but it can also be treated as any input. I often use it as a "quit" button since it's small, out of the way, and not easy to press by mistake.
Thanks very much for this demonstration. I was able to easily install my Sarwa stick and buttons using the 5 pin cable with connectors at each end technique. Well done.
I really apreciate your detailed reviews from the start to the end. It helps make objective decisions. And for me personally, I was looking into getting an arcade stick and was not sure what to look for, but thanks to your vids (and for this one specially) I will try my luck with an 8bitdo arcade stick. So thank you very much! will definetly keep on following you :)
Excellent review. You were very thorough and brought up a few things other reviewers missed like how the letters change when you toggle to Switch and xinput.
Damn if only 8bitDo came up with a PS4/PC version of this it would be awesome... Have you trying connecting this to a PS4?? Amazing video, first time i know about your channel.
Thank you so much for your review. I just bought the 8bitdo arcade stick 3d days ago (My 1st fight stick) and I'm loving it. I already tried a bunch of arcade sticks from friends like the razer panthera OG, Qanba obsidian, hori rap4 and rap N and also the Qanba drone. I was looking for a budget stick just for my PC. I was so happy I chose the 8bitdo which I bought for $50 rather than the Qanba Drone which was $95. Thanks man.
@@JoystickNY It was on sale for some reason but not the others. I'm so glad I bought it. Maybe I'll replace the buttons with sanwa's but the lever is great for my liking.
I’m mostly in the same boat as you. I just got done trying out the Hori RAP 4 Kai for the PS4/PS3 which was my first real arcade stock experience. I ultimately sent it back because I still wasn’t as accurate with it after using it for a month but it’s very likely I just need more time. But I want to try other sticks to make sure. Also I had bought my RAP 4 from Amazon warehouse open box so wanted to rule out slight chance something may have been off. The 8bitdo I ordered last night, mainly for PC and secondary switch use. $50 is a killer deal. I got the open box for $79 again from Amazon and a few days prior they had 20% off Amazon warehouse promo which had it as low as $69. Your number beats that.
I havent seen that one, i just checked it out, very interesting, if i see a sale, i might pick one up to review it, just have quite a lot of video on hand ❤️🙏
This is my first arcade stick ever and I've been loving it so far. Please, give some advices to us novice players on button layouts for specific games. Top notch content, bro!
Thank you for watching 🙏❤️ for the most part, i think the default layout is good, like for example 3 punch on top,3 kick in bottom for most fighting games, tekken 2 punch too, 2 kick bottom. Marvel vs capcom too. If you are unsure, stick with the default button layout for that game. 👍🕹
Thanks for another great video! Based on the internals, and specifically the way the joystick is wired, I think I might pass on this. I got the May flash f300 and then the f500 based on your review and Ive found both of those to be more user friendly for modding. Thank you for doing such in-depth and informative reviews and I look forward to more content and more reviews this year!
as someone who is about to get his first arcade stick and wanted to know if this one was worth it, thank you so much for this review. im really excited to play third strike and mvc3 on this stick along with many more old school games.
Thanks for the review! I was looking at purchasing this, and your video had much more than I was looking for! The recommendation was what I wanted and I got a sneak peek to a new hobby in a couple years!
I bought this because of you n i love it! Using an arcade stick and learning to play fighting game for the first time, a rough but exciting journey ahead😊
This review was so good I actually bought the stick, got just three days ago and I’m having a blast with it on MvC2 and 3rd strike. Just wanted to say thank you and I hope your channel grows bro.👍
I have this. If you play on PC or Switch, it's a great arcade stick to have around. You'll definitely want to mod it with some higher quality buttons and a good joystick though. I put Sanwa parts in mine and it feels MUCH better and more responsive. The stock parts are functional, but not something you'll want to use for competitive matches.
Very insightful review. I was debating if I should get this stick or not (never bought one). I am a die hard tekken fan and I've justy recently picked up Tekken 8. Watching your video made me decide to buy this stick. Very thankful for you uploading such a detaliled and well-elaborated video. I'm subscribing for sure. Keep up the great work my bro, greetings from Peru.
Great review! Your videos are the best. Actually the best resource for fight sticks on UA-cam. At around 26 minutes you are using a dock or stand for the switch. What is it? Looking to get something similar. Thank you!!
The new revision of ther 8bitdo that comes with philips screws, even fits a Seimitsu LS-32 without any changes. Just use the plate that comes with the 8bitdo. Before you used to have to dril a hole or sand the plastic. It also bits the LS-55, LS-56, LS-58, etc. as they are even smaller.
in electronic manufacturing world, the torx head screw is used to reduce strips out. It's generally used in small electronic devices because screws are small and over torquing will happen if you use flat or phillip heads.
I wanted to see some reviews of this particular stick so I checked out your video, but your thorough review made me a subscriber. Plus you're an Iori stan so I know you're legit ;)
I wanted to take the time to comment on this video. I have actually got the drive to play fighting games again and after thinking long and hard, I decided to actually pick up a stick, but I wanted one with accessibility and affordable. I love how you went in depth with the product and provided some negatives. One thing I would love to see is having a led screen to tell me how much battery I have left so I would know when to charge it. I also took the time to mod my buttons and at first I had a hard time taking out the buttons but your video helped me step by step and I was able to replace em with sanwas. I know it's a long comment but I wanted to thank you for your video and thanks to you this stick was an investment and playing sfv is not as bad as it seems once I found a good position to hold the stick. Thanks for everything and I hope to see a follow up video for the stick replacement as I'm eager to mod my stick as well
Thank you, i am happy you like the stick, i think this stick is all you really need. Its one of my favorite sticks to recommend under $100. I am going to work on the next video on my days off, possible in the end of the month 🙏❤️ thank you for the support
8bit-do is coming out with one of these for xbox, considering pre-ordering it but wanted to see something comparable before spending the money. If its anything like this, im sure itll suit my needs. Thanks for the review!
ive been wanting to play Strive since it came out and ive had a really hard time trying to figure out what stick id like to buy for it as im very new to fighting games. i came across this video and its pretty much sold me. Thank you very much

Excellent Review I bought one today , I have two TE2 SF5 Sticks so I will Mod the 8bitdo and Sell it , Probably just Change the Botton to Sanwa Same Color
Am new to online fighting games and arcade sticks ,no wonder everyone online keeps getting those command moves so fast damn that short cut. Excellent review thanks for the information.
Thank for your reviews! I am convinced and just bought it on sale for $149 AUS. Perfect for what I was looking for. Great work with the vids mate. I am a novice so will see how it goes, might upgrade to Sanwa who know!
awesome review, I really like this fight stick so far. Price/options/flexibility/connectivity made it an easy purchase for me, I really appreciate your time and full review, examples.
Ah, I checked two weeks ago if you covered this stick, but I bought it anyways. This is a really nice stick! Thanks for reviewing and giving it some love!
Been watching your videos for the last few months, have mayflash on the way at your recommendation. Didn't realize I wasn't subscribed. Good info, good production quality. Subbed, Liked. Now I want one of these but I totally don't need it haha. Maybe for the wireless retro gaming, shmups, etc. Best aesthetic IMO, looks very solid, too.
Great video ❤, one thing I would like to point out is that my 8bitdo (switch/pc ver) came with Phillips screws like the Xbox version. I bought it a month ago so 8bitdo probably changed for the newer models 🔥🔥
Thank you for the video! If you use a Wingman XB(1) Brook adapter wired it will also work with the XBOX family. You just have to make sure to update to the newest firmware.
right now, you're the best arcade stick reviewer for me. and thanks for the consistent update

Watching your video made me decide to buy this stick. Very thankful for you uploading such a detaliled and well-elaborated video. I'm subscribing for sure. Keep up the great work my bro, greetings from Peru.
What a super informative, clear and engaging review dude! Thank you 🙏
The most impressive thing in this video is the fact he plugged ik a USB-A in one go!
Lol, lucky 50/50
Great review! Your videos are the best. Actually the best resource for fight sticks on UA-cam. At around 26 minutes you are using a dock or stand for the switch. What is it? Looking to get something similar. Thank you!!
Thank you 🙏❤️ Oh, that is a ipad stand from amazon, if you search ipad stand, u will see a lot of similar ones, it extends to 1 feet too.
@@JoystickNY Thanks!!
Ordered this bad boy last week, very fun to play with!
Enjoy 😊 i preordered it and got it on day 1, so far i really like it, took me a while to make the video 🙏❤️
Just picked this up. It is Fantastic, I have Zero complaints.
My friends use it, they love it, they come from smash bros ulti
This is on sale for 20% off right now on Amazon. I just grabbed it and I can't wait to play with it. My last arcade stick was the cheap SF4 stick.
Great deal ❤️🙏 enjoy
Such a great review, thanks!
Can't wait for your next video. The no soldering option is definitely a plus !
Thank you ❤️🙏 possible near the end of the month, work keeping me busy 🤣
Good luck with your work and stay safe ! I'll be patient 😉
What seimitsu joystick and cables do I need ? I'm about to buy the stuff I want, so...
Let me make my methods actually works before i tell you to buy anything, just incase 😊
that did it for me Im gonna try it, great review staight forward and clear!!!
Thank you so much
mine will arrive tomorrow, can't wait to use it, great video production quality btw
Thank you for watching 🙏❤️
28:26 that'd be me playing any fighting game i'm not familiar with
Nice review and nice arcade stick!
I ordered this one on aliexpress to enjoy the retro games.
thank you for the support 🙏❤️
The new revision of ther 8bitdo that comes with philips screws, even fits a Seimitsu LS-32 without any changes. Just use the plate that comes with the 8bitdo. Before you used to have to dril a hole or sand the plastic. It also bits the LS-55, LS-56, LS-58, etc. as they are even smaller.
in electronic manufacturing world, the torx head screw is used to reduce strips out. It's generally used in small electronic devices because screws are small and over torquing will happen if you use flat or phillip heads.
Ya, i realize philip strips way too easy
one of the best reviewer for arcade sticks. Thank you so much for the info.
Thank you so much for the kind words ❤️🙏
Love the editing, love the honest and the detail of your video. Stay awesome 🤘
Thank you so much for the love and support, i try to do my best, still learning 🙏❤️
I wanted to see some reviews of this particular stick so I checked out your video, but your thorough review made me a subscriber. Plus you're an Iori stan so I know you're legit ;)
Thank you for the support 🙏❤️
This is the first video I’ve seen by you and I’m now subscribed
thank you for the support 🙏❤️
Your reviews are understandable and thorough and a pleasure to watch. Keep up the good work!
Thank you, happy to help 👍❤️
U can feel confident buying the xbox version, i recommend it
Just ordered one. Seems like a great all around starter stick
👍❤️ thank you for watching
Thanks for sharing this very elaborate video. Very much appreciated ❤
Love your reviews bro,thanks... also the heart button... there's the saying, home is where the heart is.
Thank you so much 🙏❤️
"Home is where the heart is" would be my guess for the design choice of the home button :)
ive been wanting to play Strive since it came out and ive had a really hard time trying to figure out what stick id like to buy for it as im very new to fighting games. i came across this video and its pretty much sold me. Thank you very much
If you are going pc, this and qanba drone will be my top choice for entry
@@JoystickNY i have been buying 8bitdo products for a couple of years now so Im immediately drawn to this in particular but I'll check the qanba out too!
Fantastic demonstration !! Thankyou 10/10

Possibly macros and turbos, it helps alittle, but still require alot of knowledge to be good
Thank for your reviews! I am convinced and just bought it on sale for $149 AUS. Perfect for what I was looking for. Great work with the vids mate. I am a novice so will see how it goes, might upgrade to Sanwa who know!
Happy to help, thank you for the support ❤️🙏
Love the in depth reviews also my man knows how to play hes prolly the best I've seen out of the other reviewers
Thank you for the kind words ❤️🙏🕹
awesome review, I really like this fight stick so far. Price/options/flexibility/connectivity made it an easy purchase for me, I really appreciate your time and full review, examples.
Thank you, mod video for the stick next 🙏❤️
Ah, I checked two weeks ago if you covered this stick, but I bought it anyways. This is a really nice stick! Thanks for reviewing and giving it some love!
Thank you for checking 🙏❤️ i probably wont ever be the first ones to post, my output is very slow due to full time job 😂
Mayflash is good for a while; it can take you far 👍🕹
This one looks pretty solid but no Sanwa out the gate. That kind of sucks. Good to see a new Fightstick unboxing, good work.
Thank you for watching ❤️🙏
Great video ❤, one thing I would like to point out is that my 8bitdo (switch/pc ver) came with Phillips screws like the Xbox version. I bought it a month ago so 8bitdo probably changed for the newer models 🔥🔥
Thank you for the video!
If you use a Wingman XB(1) Brook adapter wired it will also work with the XBOX family. You just have to make sure to update to the newest firmware.
