To remove a bobbin plate from a Singer 99 or 66 sewing machine, the needleplate needs to be removed and the bobbin plate then slides off from left to right. - Навчання та стиль
You are a godsend - thank you!! I tried every which way to replace this one, then I found your tutorial, and now it's back in place.
Love your voice and manner, and that you appreciate these industrial works of art
Wish I had watched this before wrangling my slide plate. Thank you.
Lizzie you are a life saver I had just ordered a Singer 99k for my mom and wouldn't you know it the first time I opened the slide plate it slid right off..... and there is really only one way to put it back in. Not the way you think. Thanks so much!
I learned this now from your video. Thank you! Jesus bless you!
I don't know if you still read the comments on your videos, but I wanted to thank you for this. I recently (this past year) refurbished a 99k for myself. When I took the slide plate off, I could not get it to stay on. This is still a problem. Now, I realize that I forced it off the wrong way, when cleaning, and I need to make an adjustment to the stoppers to keep it on.
I found a nice 99K for $10 at a yard sale today! Going to shine it up a bit but 1st I knew to come to your channel Lizzie! Your videos are very helpful :)
Thanks so much for this I've just mended my 1955 machine and I'm sooooooo happy 😘😘😘
Hello Lourdes and Annie,
So glad you have found this video helpful!
Videos about attachments are on my list of things to do. So far I have done the seam guide, underbraider and edge foot...
Muv
Thank you for the info. I bought the replacement plate and couldn't figure out how to attach it. Seeing it makes everything come clear.
where did you get the replacement plate if you don't mind letting me know ??
Thanks so much for this video. Unfortunately I had trouble putting the bobbin slide back in. Then I simply oiled that area and it slid back in place easily. Thanks again, I have subscribed.
Dear Muv, thank you very much for posting this video to answer my question!
Well done... love your blog! I appreciate your help.
Regards, Lourdes.
Dear Muv - this is my first time visiting your channel and I have to tell you... you're AMAZING!! For those of us chosing to discover the immense joy of using vintage manual sewing machines, your videos are truly a blessing of knowledge.
I am loving my Singer 99k hand crank and was wondering if you could do videos on the attachments available to these machines and what can be done with them... I look in my accessory box and have no idea what some of these things are for!!
Annie
Lizzie. Your videos are great! I can tell you know what your doing. Very handy you are. I just purchased a 1954 99K Great Britain with original wood sowing table. The table is in mostly good condition, however the finish on the table is cracking and peeling in several locations. Would you refinish or leave as is. If you did refinish should I restain or just coat with polyurethane?
Thank You Thank You
The plate can just be removed by levering it up so it comes off the spring clips. The clips are high quality spring steal and designed to handle this. Removing the foot plate is not neccessary.
Hi, I'm having a problem with my singer 99k stitch length, it just bunches up the fabric, I turn the button, but it doesn't alter the length. Thankyou.
Hi. I have a sewing machine just like yours... I think mine might be a few years older. I bought it at a garage sale for 20$ but it had no bobbin. Does this singer ONLY use a "round bobbin" ??
I found a size 66 will fit 👍😊
Also loved this video ! Helped me learn to thread my singer 👍👍
