Such an amazing snare drum. Can't go wrong with Ludwigs
I just love the sound of metal Ludwig snares. ❤
The Black Beauty is the best I've ever heard... so versatile...
WOW someone knows how to tune 👀 That gretsch kit and that snare are PERFECT together
I ended up buying a bronze black beauty, so glad I did. This company just makes amazing metal
Snares
I have this drum, best sounding snare I've ever owned.
I watch these videos just to hear your playing; that semi quaver bass drum at around 5:20 is quite incredible 👌👍🙂🥁🥢🥁🥢
Ludwig snare drum, vintage Gretsch kit : my personal choice
Oh wow, extra EXTRA high tuning 🤯😂🔥
Love the Medium tuning best! You get a nice crack with all of the body, a pleasant ring, and no choked sound!!! 😊
I like the drum. I like the drumming.
Expectacular sonido gracias por.el.video gran baterista el que lo. Toca
Sounds awesome, nice chops dude.
Belíssima Black Beauty. O som é bem cheio !!! Parabéns pelo seu vídeo. Feliz Ano Novo.
Beautiful
really starts to come alive @ 196hz. on the batter.
Would that be the high tuning in this video?
Sounds like he's about 220-ish on the high tuning here.@@rol0511
What heads and what strands are being used?
Which throw off comes with this snare. You're web site shows the 39, your playing one with a 38. I think? thanks
You're right, it's a different throwoff than what's on the website. It's a P-86 on the website, which is historically what has come on this drum. This one has a P-88AC. Honestly couldn't tell you why; I think maybe it has something to do with Ludwig retooling the P-86 late last year to closer resemble the P-88.
So I just got this same snare and when loosening the tension rods to tune both heads, the tension rods are very stiff and need a drum key to keep loosening/tightening them even when there's no tension on the heads at all. Is this common or did I get a bad snare?
If you take the head and the hoop off the drum, then feed the tension rod back into the lug, does it spin freely or is it still sticky?
@@2112percussion_ some are and that doesn't allow me to finger tighten them like a few others.
Wonder if they're the wrong thread rods, or maybe a drop or two of wd40 ( or pb blaster ) would help
Would love to hear that drum with 2.3 triple flange `brass hoops instead of die cast. Drum sounds good but choked; but if that's the sound you're going after I get it. Not my cup of tea respectfully. The brass looks amazing again wish Ludwig would offer what I'm saying so the consumer has a choice/can pick. Peace
couldn't agree more.
🤘😎🔥🥁👍
Why not brass and not brass-plated
How Much??$$
These are $1049 US as of January 2024, and they've been really hard to get in stock with Ludwig's latest quality control measures. Only the best, most perfectly-plated shells seem to get turned into these drums.
@@2112percussion_ That's about what I pay for my custom made drums. I started on Ludwigs in the late 60's and I like that snare you had there. $1049 is not that crazy, do you have that one there for sale?
Ludwig makes the best snare drums period. Boutique snares and other companies just cAnt sound as good
Ma786sai Dua terrific
aluminum supraphonic still sound better
I have a hammered BB and still play my 15 year old Supra way more.
