Ludwig Snare Drums Comparison. Black Beauty LB417 VS Supraphonic LM400.

In this short vido we gonna compare two amazing snare drums by Ludwig, Supraphonic vs Black Beauty
For best results we tuned both drums to the same tones, fundamental pitches E, G and A
Same Sure sm57 mics and mic positions. All analog processing settings were the same of both drums on custom made SSL console clone.

I like both at the higher tunings. But prefer the deeper Black Beauty slightly over the shallower Supraphonic.

If your drummer hits properly then yes. Mostly cases Supra plays easily

Right, and 5-inch shells are really easier to play with. In 6,5-inch or deeper the air volume is larger, drumhead will resist more
