It’s kind of the opposite of djent.
Djent tends to be atmospheric, almost uplifting.
Thall is very dark, kinda disgusting in a sense.
Not even Vildjartha 12 years ago knew what Thall is.

First coined by the Swedish Progressive Metal band Vildhjarta, the meaning of thall was kept very secret for years, and was used as an inside joke to torment members of the djent community. Some speculated it was the name of their debut LP release, but this proved to be incorrect as Vildhjarta put out an album named Masstaden instead. Others speculated it was onomatopoeic, in the same manner as the word "djent"; used to describe the twangy thall sound of Vildhjarta's heavily-distorted extended range guitars. This proved also to be inaccurate.
The origins of the word thall were revealed by Calle and Daniel - they were slurring the word Thrull, and after, took it upon themselves to share the hilarious distortion of the word all over the internet. The word's popularity was hugely propagated by their rabid fanbase who would embrace thall and frequently leave comments consisting of just the word alone all over facebook and youtube.
Thus, thall has no true meaning, but has become a word unto itself.

The process of creating thrulls is much different from animating the undead, as thrulls are actually living creatures. 3:01 Reflections latest album in a nutshell
I have seen Vildhjarta Back in the day at Euroblast way before they released their debut record. They were pretty much generic Djent before it was released. Saw them again and their sound changed completely. But they handed out stickers with „Thall - powered by Vildhjarta“. And everyone was like „WTF is this?“.

The riff in level 6 lives rent free inside my brain.
My friend accurately described Thall as what if Bill and Ted had to use their guitars to do battle for the last of humanity in a dystopian future.

Definitely not. Vildjharta has more melody and ambience in their songs. In fact, that's exactly what makes them so special, the clean melodic riffs combined with absolute brutality of tone.

I am a leftie, I learned on a rightie strung rightie but I played it leftie then I learned on a leftiee atrung leftie snd played lefti. So upside down is natural to me. Both ways are easy...lol Some things I can only do upside diwn tho as it makes different sounds due to the different techniques to do bends which I push unless I do a bend crunch where the string is not pushed as a bend upside down but I pull it off the fretboard and it is on the side of it!

Other way around, skrillex was heavily inspired by metal, so dubstep is closer to being synth djent

@@dontme5670American dubstep and uk dubstep are basically only related by name, American dubstep is much more closely related to hard drum and bass then UK dubstep, seeing as it was the direct result of skrillex deciding to become a DJ after hearing Hold Your Colour which is by all means a DnB record. I wrote a whole paper on the origins of American Dubstep from its roots in Jamaican Dub music
