Also the bar keeps getting higher and higher for metal singers. Now a days you have to literally sound like a demon alligator during the breakdown or an angel during the chorus. Idk man, I also used to sing and I had a pretty accurate Max Cavalera, but that's not enough for todays standard.

No need to scare everyone LOL We also thought that the vocals would be very hard to cover well and didn't want to ruin the performance completely by doing botched vocals.....
The world needs to be taught about Gojira music. It is an art. Heavy metal art. I was skeptical about you being able to play it, but it was great! Great drums, bass and guitars.

Flying Whales is a song by Gojira that makes up the majority of the video, and its not a bad rendition of it, I must say😁. The first thing you hear though, is indeed Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth), by Cliff Burton of Metallica.
The bass player is on another level...he really add that 80s metal thing into Gojira . The whole band is great ...tight and very close ..but those days , it's not common whit a bass player, that takes so much space in metal. Anasteshia/ Pulling Teeth as an intro , that is brilliant 🤘🤘🤘
Reminds me of when my friends and I played Slayer - Raining Blood as part of a music assessment where we had to set up the sound system and get all the levels right etc... We were planning on playing a different song and were just playing Raining Blood as a rehearsal and our teacher told us to play that instead 😂 it was awesome! This high school was very much a non-metal-friendly school but we actually got a standing ovation from them all (definitely did not expect that) keep killing it fellas!
Y'all are very good like for real, but the bassist and the drummer are going PLACES. We'll definitely hear more from them in the future I'm sure, especially the drummer, he's already almost at a pro level

Just turned 55, starting playing metal drums in 1983. This makes me so happy to see !. Went to a local club show when Gojira opened for LOG. . Never been more blown away by any band that I had zero knowledge of. Mario !!!!
All four guys were awesome, but that damn bass player blew me away. The way he held his plucking hand during Anesthesia reminded me so much of Cliff Burton. Well done, guys.

I did some light touring in my younger days as the bass player for a couple of metal bands and I was always prepared to rip out Anesthesia when a guitarist inevitably had to change a broken string in the middle of a set. Always had that Boss HM-2 and a wah in my fx chain ready to go just in case and they sure as hell got plenty of use! Great job, hope all you guys keep kicking ass!
your school and staff deserve a round of applause! I graduated in 2016 and our school staff wouldn't even allow playing Beatles, a public school in US lol. My hat is off to you guys and to the school staff, you rocked it ans I really wish I got a chance to perform in front of my school, living my dream! :)

Nice. Really hoped someone would put down some screams, it missed only vocals to be a perfect cover. It works great as instrumental piece, just goes to show how amazing gojira is.
That was the original plan! The tall blonde on the right was gonna do vocals but in the days leading up to it he started to feel he was hurting his voice so we ending up only having vocals for one song in our set. Having no vocals also let us work on the instrumental aspect and really prefect it. Overall I think it was for the better......song is heavy without them.....some people don't like the screaming and the small chance that he botched the vocals it coulda ruined the song 😂
