  • Ep 10 - Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
In this episode, I took the train from Kampar to Kuala Lumpur old station which has since been replaced by the newer and modern KL Sentral station approx a mile away.
On these longer express service (ETS), bikes aren't normally allowed, and so I had to go under cover (a wing and a prayer).
Upon arrival I cycled from the old KL train station towards Mont Kiara, ~9 miles away to my accomodation.
The KL traffic is busy as you'd expect when cycling in any cities and although there are evidence of cycling infrastructure here and there, they aren't very established nor connected, expect the cycle route to appear and disappear at any point.
The sat nav (OSMAND+) I used was of some help, but it can become confused with the many flyovers all over KL and elsewhere, so I did have to stop and check the route from time to time.
    Enjoy

👍Thankyou. More good info - The No bikes sign was a bit scary...
I was surprised to see on the train journey that your folded bike was in clear view, wheels and all. So I'm assuming there is no security check on the bags. That would be good news.
A quick question - Are there Malaysia specific apps for pre-booking accommodation?

I have been using Booking.com app, works a treat. I have used it for hostel, motels and hotels. I didn't have any issue (yet).
On hind sight, I could have hidden the bike a bit better, and no, the ticket conductor did not even bother to check. That's what I call an adventure :)
