My main take away from these particular videos is, what not what to do!
I can't see any enjoyment cycling those highways for any extended time and as you point out, it is or can be dangerous.
So I'll plot my routes via the back roads where possible and if not then I'll just bus, coach, taxi or train between the towns. Which will actually give me more time in some of the towns to explore.

Totally, I had always thought there'd be "back roads", like you do in most parts of the UK.
But not so in Serdang area, even between villages and townships, a few miles apart, you'd have to take the highways, on occasions where I did follow the sat nav (OSMAND+) for smaller roads, it would lead me to roads that's been decommissioned, and by then I was already knackered and so opted to take the highway instead.
I suppose you could spend more time on google map and more research, but I was not in any real hurry, so it all became part of the adventure.
In my next and final trip to Jenjarom, I could have taken shortcuts through palm oil plantations insterad of the busy highways, but only found out once I had got home :) nevermind.
