ramly factory just produced the patty, bread, sauces etc for burger and hotdog. all the stalls run by their owners. basically all stalls make the burgers by malaysian ways. but sometimes you may meet experiences and skills stalls. one of the skills they may slices in the middle of the patty, pour with pepper inside, its so great. 😋😋
We miss KL so much! Especially the food. To be honest, we felt the same way when we tried Ramly burgers the first time. Given all of the incredible street food available in Malaysia, they didn't really wow us. Going to have to give them another go when we return! 🍔

RAMLY is a brand name of halal burger patty made in Malaysia. So, different stalls have different ways of preparing their own style burger using that patty. Different sauces and veggies depending on the stalls. Usually Ramly burger stall owned by locals but currently many illegals immigrants from Bangladesh and Indonesia also set up their own stalls. They tend to go for money and sell not so good burger.

Malay is an ethnicity, like Chinese or Indian. Regardless of ethnicity, we are all Malaysian (which is a nationality). So some of the food you tried is Chinese Malaysian. Roti Canai can be thought of as Indian Malaysian food. Malaysian food in general is very much a fusion of traditional Malay, Chinese, and Indian with touches of Dutch, Portuguese, Englich, Arabic, and several others with mostly local ingredients.
Thanks for breaking that down! Sorry if we misspoke. 😅 One of our favorite things about making videos is learning even more in depth info from you in the comments after we post! 😊
My Dad spent time in, as it was then, Malaya, as well as Singapore and Brunei, back in the mid 1960's. It had such an impact on him, that growing up we would often have an adapted version of Nasi Goreng at home and it was my favourite. He remembers his time in Malaysia fondly.
Thats awesome! That was one thing my family couldn’t make growing up, proper fried rice. We’d have stirfry and things like that, but using fish sauce and oyster sauce just wasn’t on the menu, only soy sauce. It would have changed the game. Being out here and learning about the ingredients has stepped up the game as far as making food from this region. 🙏
@@mikeandashley To add to the Nasi Goreng story - My Mum is British, but was raised in Belgium, which is where she met Dad about 3 or 4 years after he had been in SE Asia. A few months ago I was asking my folks about the backstory of how Nasi Goreng came to be part of our home routine. Mum said that whilst we were in Hong Kong (a decade or so after Dad had been in Malaysia etc) she had been to a cooking demonstration with the Gurkhas, and one of the dishes was a version of Nasi Goreng, and so the family tradition of having Nasi Goreng in a British home was created.

You may ask the Ramly Burger street food vendor for "less sauce", in doing so it will be less messy. Personally, I prefer it that way. However, quite a lot of people like more sauce and subscribed to "the messier it is, the better it tastes". If you are really into food, plan visitation by region. North (Perlis, Kedah, Penang & Perak), East (Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang), KL is Central (KL, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan) and South (Johor & Melaka). Each region has their own special food and unique variations of taste buds. And not forgetting East Malaysia (Sabah & Sarawak) with huge arrays of food and its preparations.

The building and the tip on the top of Merdeka 118 is actually a representation of Tunku Abdul Rahman (the 1st Prime Minister) posture standing and raise his hand proclaiming "Merdeka Merdeka Merdeka". It is NOT CHEATING but a historic representation of what happened on August 31st 1957.
I’ve watched a lot of KL videos lately and yours is one of the best! Shot really well (you must have a great lens) and lovely commentary. Must watch for people going to KL - the links to locations in comments is also super helpful.

@@mikeandashleyalso just for a fun fact the spire at the top of the Merdeka 118 building that may seem like a "cheat", it's actually pretty common. For example the Burj Khalifa (tallest building in the world) has a spire that is way bigger than the Merdeka, but it doesn't look like it because they designed it to look like it's part of the building but in fact the highest floor that you can only go to is 3/4 of the building's hight. A useful tip if you are in KL: Most of the gardens, parks, forest, art galleries, museums and memorials in KL are free to enter (some of them have entrance fee, but very cheap), so you can save lots of $$$ by visiting those attractions.

oppss.. i have to stop u there.. at 11:40 u said "Chinese descent Malays" which is not correct. It should be Chinese descent Malaysians. Malay is a different ethnic group in Malaysia which are different from the Chinese. The term Malaysians should be used for the country nationality of all Malaysians regardless of ethnic groups. Malay, Chinese, Indians, or any other ethnic groups are basically referring the culture to which they belong to or relate most from.

Hello guys, I wish you are always healthy with your beloved family and thank you for traveling in our country Malaysia, enjoy and happy holidays.. 🎉🎉❤
Thank you so much! We had a wonderful time in Malaysia and can't wait to return! 🥰
You guys are incredibly well researched! Hope you enjoyed your time in Malaysia ❤️
Aw, thank you! We’re happy to hear that. We often feel like idiots abroad, just booping from place to place! 😅😂
Thanks for watching! 🙏
Kuala Lumpur is given the nickname, "The city that never sleeps," for a reason. Enjoy the rest of Malaysia, guys!
We can see why. KL is such a cool city! Thanks so much. 🥰
Really love having you guys here.
Not everyone willing to try street local foods when travelling here.
Glad to see you explore the varieties of foods & flavours in Malaysia❤
Thanks! We absolutely love trying local food. It’s always a highlight of our trips. 😊
Lovely couple 😊 and so nice to see you both enjoying yourself in Malaysia 👍
Thank you! We loved our time in Malaysia. 🥰
welcome home ❤ messy special burger is a time machine back to being kids munching, gigling, watching, discovering
Haha, it does remind me of a burger I’d eat when I was little! 🥰
Seafoods in South-East Asia, particularly in Malaysia are on another level. You have to get over that stigmatization of seafoods.. or you'll miss a lot. 😁✌
Haha, we feel that you’re right. We always try things, but often, seafood just doesn’t hit for us. Though, now we’re starting to find some things we like!
I didn’t realized I spent 35 minutes of my time watching your video. I must say you guys are very open and positive thinking. Plus very knowledgeable towards the places that you go. Wishing you the best in everything you do. Cheers
Wow, this may be one of the best compliments we could ask for! Thanks for taking a chance on our video and leaving us a comment. 🥰🫶 We really appreciate it! ✨
now this is how you travel vlog! can't help to smile whenever you guys tasted good food like.. yeaaaah it's "sedap" rightt??
Thanks so much! We’re happy you enjoyed the video. 😊🫶
Happy to have found your channel! Also, love Malaysian food; not enough people realize how yummy it is:)
We’re happy you found us too! 🫶 And right? We had no idea. But it’s such an awesome and diverse cuisine!
Thissss
Ah, we didn't realize this. Thank you for letting us know! 🙏
@@mikeandashley it’s okay 😊 i’m just letting u know so that u will not misunderstood about that
But wiki said its no 1 in the world because the pic up the tower is highter
Awesome! Thank you so much. 😊
Wow great video ... Im coming to kl soon
Hey, thanks so much! We hope you enjoy your trip. Thanks for watching! 😁
Cheers again for a good run of a great video! Thanks a lot for promoting KL, Malaysia!
Thank you! We’re happy you enjoyed it! We had a lot of fun in KL.
I’ve watched a lot of KL videos lately and yours is one of the best! Shot really well (you must have a great lens) and lovely commentary. Must watch for people going to KL - the links to locations in comments is also super helpful.
Wow! 🥺 Thank you so much. 🙏 That really means a lot. We’re happy you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching! 🫶
watch you video make me 'lapar' bro😂😂..thank for visit malaysia.please come again next time.
Haha, we're happy we made you hungry. Thanks so much for watching!
Ashley's first reaction to soursop was amazing
Agreed. It’s one of my favorite things when she experiences something that really blows her mind. 👌
If Ashley like chocolate she should try ice Milo (ice chocolate drink) or ice neslo (ice coffee chocolate mix drink)😅 if u haven't already
Also sour plum drink is nice
To me, The best Roti Canai is made by the Malays stall. Soft and delicious
We’ve had it at so many places. Our favorite was a place by our apartment in Ampang Jaya. It was just too far out of the way on our filming day!
@prof_xhew2929 we had Milo ice later in this video!
Welcome, Have a great time here. if you ever planned to go to Perak be sure to visit Taiping !
Oh! We haven’t heard of there before! We will have a video coming from Ipoh, but we didn’t make it to Taiping. 😕 We’d love to come back and explore more of Malaysia though, so perhaps we can check it out then! 👌 Thanks for watching!
@@mikeandashley Well that was close, be sure to check it out 🙂 i hope you have a nice time in Malaysia since im worried about kids nowadays and some Individuals are not that kind. anyway i wish you success ❤️ keep going i will be waiting for the video.
Hi Mike n Ashley, really love to see your video, always lovely smile, hope you both enjoy Malaysia food. ❤
Aw, thank you so much! 😊🙏 We’re really happy you enjoyed the video. ✨
You guys have great personalities and very friendly and humble - thank you for sharing your culinary experiences :)
Aw, thank you so much! 🥰🫶 This comment just made our day!
Merdeka 118, the top part signifies our first prime minister with his arms held up declaring our independence.
We probably should have done a bit more research. 😅 Thank you for letting us know!
Burj Khalifa spire - 200m
PNB Merdeka 118 spire - 160.4m
Have fun where ever.
Thanks so much!
Love the thumbnail my friends :)
Thanks Vu! Sometimes we make a decent one. 😅😂
Welcome to Malaysia.. Please enjoy your holiday trip..
Thank you so much! We really did. Malaysia is a wonderful country! 🫶
A useful tip if you are in KL:
Most of the gardens, parks, forest, art galleries, museums and memorials in KL are free to enter (some of them have entrance fee, but very cheap), so you can save lots of $$$ by visiting those attractions.
That's a great point! I wish we had more time to just relax in the parks. They seem so cool. The malls were helpful, but nothing beats nature! And Ashley can't spend money so easily there. 🤣
Welcome to Malaysia, fellas.. enjoy your day.. and hey you both looking like an actor/ singer..
Thanks! And oh yea? Which ones? 🤔🤔
U guys are so lovely. Rendang is not a chinese specialty, thats why u love rendang at wanjo more as it is a Malay dish. For chinese food, bak kut teh is a must..not forgetting nasi beriani, nasi kerabu, asam laksa.
Ah, that makes sense. Thank you for the recommendations! The food in Malaysia is so delicious. 🤗😋
Wow! Now I'm more excited for our trip on October!
That’s awesome! Glad we could help! Feel free to let us know if you have any questions and we’ll do our best to answer them! 😊
@@mikeandashley are the MRTs connected to all tourist spots or you have grab a taxi for some?
They aren't necessarily connected to ALL the tourist spots, but it's pretty easy to navigate around to the ones you need. There is also apparently a free bus that runs routes in KLCC, though we never used it.
welcome to kl, malaysia. u were so so close to the best ramly burger - the stall is called burger boss - at the end of jalan alor.
Ah, we’ve heard! 🫣😫 We liked the idea, but they could have maybe done better. I feel like when we looked online, Burger Boss wasn’t open? Maybe we missed something. Next time though! 👌
Your videos are pretty well done and though I'm Malaysian you have shown great and interesting places of my country that I've never been. Keep up the good work. 😊
Wow, thank you so much! That means a lot to us. Thank you for watching! 🥰♥️
Congratulations to U both...good impressive n highly informative video 🎉😅
Thank you! We're really happy you enjoyed it. 🤗
Welcome to our beautiful Malaysia 😁❤️🇲🇾
Thank you! 😊🙏
Both of you pronounced Malay words almost perfect. Congratulations 👏👍
That’s good to know! We always try to learn bits of the language in the places we visit, but are often insecure on whether we can pronounce things correctly. 😅 Thanks for watching!
My pleasure Mike & Ashley. It's really fun and enjoyable to watch ur video. Hope u both will continue to have a great time in Malaysia 🙏
Thank you so much! We had a really good time and are enjoying editing our next video for this Sunday! Thank you for the kind words, we’re happy you found our channel. 😊🙏
Soursop is so good and so many people have never had it. It’s really good for you too.
It IS! And yea, we’d never heard of it before this, so we’ve been on the lookout ever since! 😋
The blue color rice is from a flower called clitoria.
Interesting! We just saw a picture and can see why. 😅
Clitoria? Are u serious? Its butterfly pea flower to be exact.
Im glad u guys love our food n taste as much as we like western food also
Malaysia food is soooo good. We still dream about it. 😅😭
Thank you for sharing good exprience in KL..hopefully you guys happy to stay in KL MALAYSIA..#staysafe..

Just love the smile every time after she take a bite or sip...😊
Haha, thank you! 🥰
Great video, thankss :)
Thanks so much! 🥰🫶
oppss.. i have to stop u there.. at 11:40 u said "Chinese descent Malays" which is not correct.
Oh no! My mistake. 😅 Sorry for that, and thank you so much for correcting me and breaking it all down. We really appreciate it. We hope you enjoyed the video. 😊🙏
M'sia.... food paradise... welcome n Enjoy your stay... have a nice day...
It really is! So many good options. 🤤
welcome to Malaysia and enjoy your stay!
Thank you!! 🙏🙏🙏
3:02 Bukit Nanas. Didn't you guys see the tourism office on the right, as you walk a few more meters in front. If you went in you would have found out that Bukit Nanas is a forest reserve. That is a forest reserve in the center of the city. Oh, there is also a hiking trail through it.
Yes! We found this out much later. 😅 I think from another UA-cam channel. 😂 It would have been so cool to go to, but no, we didn’t see the office. We had a pretty full day planned already and were on the move! 🚶🚶♀️
Both of you are so nice and have a beautiful wife . welcome to our truly aamsia of malaysia and enjoy delicious food...and many places to visit with beautiful scenery place ...also have world heritage site
Thank you so much! 😊🥰 We loved Malaysia and will definitely return. We only saw such a small portion of the country.
29:15 it's kaya spread. I think jam is for fruit-based spread.
I appreciate Ashley's genuine acceptance and liking for these under the radar, least mentioned flavours of Malaysia (or SE Asia) like pandan and kaya. If you have not tried this, please to the bread section of any grocery or convenience store and get pandan cake slices, pandan swiss rolls and pandan chiffon cakes. Better yet, try looking for these at bakeries. Pandan cakes are truly divine.
Mmm. Kaya is the stuff of dreams. Yeah, Ashley has blossomed into quite the adventurous eater. When we first met, she would only eat package noodles, mac and cheese and hamburgers. It's pretty wild to see her go now. 😂
I love Mr Long's Apam Balik. Very good and reasonable price. No wonder he is so famous in Chinatown.
100%! He’s been there for so long too!
some western tourists said Ramly Burger prepared at Abg Boo'bo stall near Petaling Street taste better. U may try it.
Thank you for the recommendation! We'll try that the next time we're in Kuala Lumpur. 😊
Hi, i think u can find the other ramly burger, because its looked so dry when he grill the patty. more buttery more delicious actually.. just my oppinion. btw enjoy ur trip here in Malaysia guys.
Yea, we may have to get another one at some point. 😅 But it did the job! 👌
I am new to your channel but didn't see that you went to Penang (Island). I bet you would like Penang more or more your vibe. I love it so much, I got my visa and bought a seaview condo there!!!!!
What?! That’s awesome. Thanks for watching our videos, and we’ll actually have a video coming from Georgetown in a few weeks! 🙏

Malaysia is very creative with coconuts. From jams to spicy gravy.
It really is! We’re always amazed at the unique flavors they come up with. 🥥
coconut rice is nasi lemak one of
malaysia traditional dish
Ok! That is cool. We were intrigued at first, but now it just feels like the way! 👌😮💨
Do visit some churches as well in kl like the holy rosary church in brick fields or little India area
Thank you for the recommendations! 🙏
@@mikeandashley if you do visit ipoh, do visit St Micheal church and in Penang, visit St anne basilica and church of holy name of jesus, balik pulau
Actually sweet drink like Milo matches well with savioury food in that it resets the pallet and making the next mouthful of food the impact like its the first taste
I (Mike) agree. Ashley, does not lol. I think it’s a winning combination. 👌
u know where to go. good job!
Thanks! Glad to know we picked some good spots. 😊🙏
U guys are soo cute. By the way if u got more time, please also consider to travel outside Kuala Lumpur (nearby cities like Petaling Jaya, Gombak, Cheras, Ampang, Sungai Buluh) there are more foods to try (usually these places crowded with locals). But to reach there it maybe harder to use LRT/MRT, but accessable hy GRAB.
Aw, thank you so much! We actually spent some time in Ampang Jaya and really liked that area, though we were mostly held up in an apartment doing editing on videos. 😅 We wish we had more time in Malaysia, but we will be back for sure! Thanks for the great recommendations! 😊
Roti canai has rank no 1 for best roti in the world in 2023 now 4th place.. and curry puff is rank no 4 best pastry in yhe world.. and malaysia has the second tallest tower in the world
We can see why! Roti Canai is DELICIOUS! Curry puffs are also quite good. 😋

You could have had the ramly burger in kg baru where u were…across the street from the saloma bridge elevator. It wasn’t our fav bc we don’t like that much sauce on our burgers. Malays really love their sauces!! 😅. But i liked the egg on it + definitely would order with 1/2 the sauce next time 😂
Ah, good to know. We're eager to try another Ramly burger and will ask for half sauce next time. The egg was so good! 😊
In Malaysia mertabak is mixed with beef or chicken eat with curry...
Sounds delicious! 😋
The ramly burger looks so amazing 😮
It was pretty solid, though our friends and some followers said we went to the wrong spot. 😅
Its a rich of taste in malaysia since malacca sultanate were among the top herbal spice hub in asia 600 years ago..
This makes perfect sense. That's why there are so many diverse dishes packed with flavor! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. 🤤
Every country has own iconic place. But I proud of Malaysia diversity in cultures, languages and cuisines.
Yes! It sort of reminded us of back home in the US a little bit, as there are so many influences from all over the world there. Thank you for watching, we hope you enjoyed our video. 😊🙏
