It's hard not to think of how many people would still be alive, women especially, if the criminal system took rape as seriously other crimes.

Almost any other crime, the attitude is that, "you did the crime, you do the time." Sexual offenses against women? Ha. "What were you wearing? How much did you have to drink? Are you sure you didn't secretly want to have sex with him? How _strongly_ did you say no?" etc etc. And let's not forget, "He's: a family man/outstanding citizen/BMOC/really great guy when he hasn't been drinking/had a difficult time since he lost his job." etc etc Ok, detective, how does any of that absolve him from having COMMITTED A VIOLENT CRIME? Would any of that absolve him if he'd robbed a bank? Sh0t someone? Kill€d someone? NO????? NONE OF THAT ABSOLVES ANYONE FROM HAVING R*PED A PERSON, EITHER.

I agree that’s it’s extremely frustrating that these lifelong criminals are being released over and over again. However, law enforcement has nothing to do with whether or not someone is released early, is given a plea, etc. That lies solely on the courts, lawyers, and parole boards. Plus, the legislature and the state’s laws definitely slowed down being able to identify and arrest her murderer. It’s a broken system.

And if you mess up inside, then you just do the rest of your parole period. Good behaviour is expected of you. Not bargained from you.

What a disgrace to have this man walk around freely allowing him to commit horrific crime which could have been prevented quite easily! I feel so bad for Sarah's family. They were robbed off their loved one, her graceful presence and her affection for them which can never be compensated but I hope they find some comfort knowing her murderer got what he deserved! In my book, the guy deserves worst but justice system is a joke so there's that.

The US needs a great overhaul of their justice system. Needs to take cases where the victims are women more seriously. Needs to take cases of familial abuse where children are the victims more seriously. Needs to learn to take in exterior factors, such as if someone was stealing to feed themselves or their family. Such as if untreated mental health that could have been treated was the reason someone did something they did. Such as if the perpetrator was a victim of a life that society forced them into, that no one would choose if they had actual freedom.
But it would seem this man was not that. That this man, in full sanity and mental health, decided to be a monster. And he was let go. Cases that would have never happened if mental health were taken seriously, if poverty were taking seriously, get treated like serial killers. And this man was let go, let go to continue enacting his own selfish desires that hurt people. The US justice and prison systems need an overhaul, for this is the only kind of person a system that takes away human rights should exist for, and they let him go.

Many criminals have good behavior in a controlled environment. Good behavior in prison should not shorten sentences rape or violent offenses. Prison officials need rewards to make prisoners behave, but the rewards should be free phone calls to family, home cooked food from volunteers, gift certificates etc instead of getting out early. The older the criminal, the less likely he is to commit violent offenses.

What I don't understand is how there are people sentenced to life in prison for non-violent drug offenses because of three-strike rules; and yet somehow a man convicted of rape and molesting a child is only sentenced to 45 years. Why even sentence him to 10 years for the rape if he's only going to serve 1/3 of it. I realize at his age the 45 years is more than likely a life sentence but it's the principle.

Don’t include drugs when pushing for predators to get longer sentencing.
It reveals the “legalize all drugs everywhere” agenda being pushed by those same individuals who are installing DA’s and Judges to go easy on these worthless pieces of 💩

There was a rape case in Ft. Lauderdale where the defense was the dress the victim wore made her irresistible. 😮 The prosecutor wore the exact same dress for closing arguments. Victim was 22. Lawyer was 60. She simply asked if this dress was asking all men to rape her why was she unmolested? He went to prison for a looking time. Justice wins sometimes. 🎉

Thank you HC. Thank God they finally got that monster. I agree totally. Our "justice system" is broken. Was it ever not? Certain pathways of learning and using tech etc were just... bypassed. And intelligent, good people are zalways trying to catch up and get on the right road. Trouble is there are still alot of those old school good ole boy judges and lawyers controlling things. I hope she is at peace now and the others hurt by this creep can rest as well. He shouldn't be allowed to waste anymore time or taxpayer money.🤬🙏🏼💔🕊️

As sad as our criminal justice system is sometimes. Don't forget, criminals can fool people but they can't fool the universe. Crimes might go unpunished or not punished enough but I think karma always gets the final say.
