I clicked to indicate I agree with you; however, you should the original rationale for the statute of limitations. Years after the crime, the defendant may be unable to locate to locate exculpatory witnesses. This is is important because DNA results may be misused, misinterpreted, or even ignored by the prosecution. As an example, one prosecutor didn't tell the jury that there were several people in CA alone who could have the DNA profile. It turned out that the first man convicted was not the perpetrator and another man was ultimately found to be the perpetrator.

@@vsratoslava listen, I know you don't understand this becuase you're not capable of thinking a few steps beyond this issue. Not every rape case results in a confession by the perpetrator; very few cases result in a confession actually. It might not seem like this to you becuase you watch true crime videos where they present selected cases that are the most dramatic and tend to have more confessions in them. Also, if someone was going to confess to a rape, it would provably happen within the statute of limitations unless it was say a deathbed confession or something which wouldn't matter anyway. After a certain amount of time, evidence can erode, witnesses that can confirm someones alibi can die, witnesses can die, someones testimony can be forgotten. All of these factors increase the chance that an innocent person will be convicted of rape which should obviously be avoided and is why the statute of limitations is a good thing.

SO tragic. Such a nice person. The part about the sister bringing the maid of honor flowers to her grave almost had me in tears. What a piece of shit. I would really liked to have helped him out with his "attempted suicide". It's clear to me that he was leaving bread crumbs his lawyer could use in trying to gain sympathy with the court during sentencing with his oh so contrite confession. And another note apologizing to whoever would find his body (yeah right) and the note to the family (potentially mitigating victim's impact statement). Then driving himself to the ER too funny. He was in cockroach survival mode. It was simply his next move - the only one he had left - after having successfully dodged DNA tests or 25 years. Anyone who thinks he is anything other than than a cold killer is a fool. Nah, somebody should've stepped on that cockroach when the lights finally went on and he scurried for the corner.. Finally I wonder why the police didn't follow him in secret and obtain DNA from a discarded whatever at a bowling alley or anywhere - as many other police departments have done to great success.

If the police bothered to interview her sister, they also would have found out that her sister had told her that her husband "could not have sex unless he was in control and held a knife to her neck".
Makes you wonder why her sister did not go to the police herself and tell them all the information that her sister had told her, especially about the state of her husband on the night of the murder, and that he had bought that music box from the very store the victim worked in that night.

Your channel is a wonderful example of how to humanise the life of a person, whilst balancing it against the tragic events and circumstances that sadly ended it.
This video feels more like a tribute film to a caring young person, it being both respectful and yet informative. So much of Lisa’s life was cruelly cut short and who knows what she could have achieved. It is only by educating and analysing such grim realities, that we can perhaps learn and avoid/or at least educate others, from having a similar fate.
I am hopeful that your investigative films bring a modicum of comfort or closure to the poor families of these victims. There is no sense to be found in any senseless killings and the greatest encroachment upon a life is to take it. Thank goodness for DNA and modern day technology. These scientific advances can only bring hope to those families still waiting for loved ones to return/or be found.
