    Bro..
    Some real talk here: 6.5 years ago I was in an almost fatal car crash. I was in a coma for a month, and had to go rehab for 2 fucking years straight. About 1 year into my rehab, I got green light from the doctors to go to the gym again (I had been training for 4 years prior to the accident) And well, let me tell you this: because I’m disabled now, I have nothing else to do but educate myself on the topic of hypertrophy, eat, sleep, train, repeat. Doctors can’t believe their eyes when they see me now; I had 0,00001% chance of surviving, and well, I did. And I came back stronger 💪

    Ive been obsessed with gaining size for the past 4 years, I'll never forget playing football in 8th grade at 106 lbs and not being a starter, from that day on I told myself I'll never let that happen again and I'm going to play college football, ever since then the drive in me has never died, I ended up finishing my senior year of football at 215 lbs and being an all new York state player and Now have an opportunity to play college football for a great program, I'm thankful for my obsession this video is spot on

    I m obsessed with increasing my deadlift number, it's working pretty fine.
    I started from 130kg PR( never deadlifted before in my life) then reached 205kg PR in less than a year, total obsession and working a lot of accessory excercises, but it came at a price of neglecting the other lifts.
    Now i m cutting, very low on carbs and energy, intermittent fasting etc.. still as obsessed by deadlift, i m stuck at 190kg PR until i start bulking again i guess?
    well, i hope someone will find it somehow useful to read haha, good luck ya all guys

I lost that hunger, not hitting the gym as hard as i used to which resulted in losing 15lbs. Thankfully, my hunger is now back again and i'm going to target my neck area this time... 18INCH NECK HERE I COME.

    I became obsessed at an early age. 16 years old. My brother showed me the gym, showed me a few bro splits. I felt my first pump. My whole life changed. 24 years old now, I’ve bulked me cut many times. I come across average people at work who complain that they don’t have the “motivation” to workout. I feel they are missing out on a piece of humanity if they don’t take up some form of exercise.

    it all started with soccer. Day and night, it was all in my mind. Sometimes I just couldn't sleep because all I wanted to do was touch a ball. I'd go out in my backyard below 10-20 degrees at 3 am. I didn't have to think about training, it was the same as wanting to eat, or to sleep. I can regard that as an obsession, something that never left my mind even when I stopped playing.

  • @aqua6428
    @aqua6428 5 років тому +11

    Saying “obsessed” kinda gives it a negative connotation. I get what you’re saying, but I think determined, unrelenting, or passionate fits more. Personally, I used to let fitness take over my passion for art, but I’ve since been working on balancing the two. When done properly, fitness enhances life, it does not steal from it.

    What do you think about the PITT FORCE method? Its invented by a german dude therefore you wont find anything on english but its simple: do as much clean reps as you can, then rest a short time (1-15sec) and do another clean rep, repeat until you reached your rep goal. You only do 1set.
    I like the idea bc i always had problems with rest timing on my sets and getting the progression a novice like me would normally have. With the PITT FORCE method its easier to reach my daily rep goal because of the rest time between every rep. Also the psychological aspect is beneficial for me, to know i dont have 4 more sets ahead is motivating me to give 100% on every single rep. Im also faster done with my workouts.

    gotta make sure to find the optimal balance between getting obsessed with things and paying enough attention to other areas so they don't regress too much though. eg recently i focused on human flag, training it at the beginning of practically every session, and i achieved it, but my other lifts/moves declined. i probably would've been better off training it at the beginning of only every 2/3 sessions or something - it would've taken a bit longer to achieve it, but i also would've lost less or no strength in other areas.

    hey man id really like your opinion on this, using a bench program for ohp? ive seen lots off peaking programs 8-10 weeks and then smaller ones 4-6 that look like they could do the same to the press as they would to the flat bench? i really want to try it out, but curious of your opinion?

      @@AlexLeonidas Maybe obsession is a wrong word choice then? Internalised dedication. I agree that lifting philosophy projects onto other aspects of your life, it fosters your character. Obsession means a blind mind, whereas I am all for strategic and careful structuring of my goals.

    Hey Alex. Would adding lateral raises to your novice program for that sweet v taper interfere with the exercises that include the shoulder? (recovery and such). If not, what rep range and amount of sets would you recommend?

    Hey Alex, quick yes/no, can I throw my abs, lower back, and calf exercises on my “mini workouts” where I will also be doing my neck workout, connective tissue work and GPP? Because I feel exhausted doing them at the end of volume or intensity workouts, especially volume.

    Hey Alex, I’m sorry to ask you a second question in succession, but are the differences between a reverse band bench with doubled lights vs reverse band bench with doubled minis enough to override the law of biological accommodation? Just trying to up my bench variation count. Thx

    • @AlexLeonidas
      @AlexLeonidas  5 років тому +2

      Hey Justin the change of band tension will override the biological law of accommodation. That said, I would not double the bands if doing reverse style as it will assist far too much. I'd also recommend doubling bands from the bottom, as opposed to reverse band. This should give you better carryover.

      If you want, sure. Many programs work for that general goal.

      Miloš Milovanović I have table sessions on Thursdays, and run 5x5 novice program on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Sometimes the pain will get too bad and I’ll move the Friday gym session to Saturday, I recommend Animal Flex as trust me doing this raw is very difficult, tiring and painful (as well as straining on the joints)...
