Oh so eggs are bad now. Can't wait till next year when eggs are considered good again. Also, our bodies actually need cholesterol, it plays a vital part in keeping cells together and many other functions. The more dietary cholesterol we eat, the less serum cholesterol our bodies make. It says in the study that you linked.
Lol what? Cholesterol is not an essential nutrient. The cholesterol we need is the one our body synthesises not the added dietary one. The study mentions that when dietary cholesterol is 0 and you add any cholesterol your serum cholesterol rises fast and the more you add the slower it rises that why there is a hyperbolic curve.
Cholesterol and Fat is good for you that's what your body is made out of if you couldn't tolerate cholesterol and fat it would be like being allergic to yourself

Can you give us an example of how it is like eating plant based on a weekly basis? I find it so hard to make the switch, everyone just say stuff like «eat more beans,» which I don’t find super helpful
Research a meal or two and start encorporating them a couple times a weeks. It is not as overwhelming if you ease into it with some solid meals. Also think of some things you already eat regularly that can easily become plant based. (Burritos/burrito bowls, pastas, Chilis, soups etcs.)
@@galacticeagle9336 Your a fucking idiot that nimwhit eats raw rotten meat whats wrong with you? Let me guess should I eat rotten meat? Or plants...Must be a hard decision for your dumb ass. The internet is also unnatural why dont you go play outside like most children should be doing.
Also if you're talking about excluding overly processed foods, then you need to stay away from those vegan "meats". All of that "tofurky" and vegan patties are some of the most over processed garbage on the market!
I’m 19 with a freaky fast metabolism. I’ve gone vegan and vegetarian for months at a time and have cut out all processed foods. The issue is I practically evaporator muscle mass. The second I introduce junk food and a more “meathead” diet I literally blow up. The dirty bulk works wonders for me physically but then I feel like a piece of shit after a month or two -similar to your experience
Sounds like a calorie deficiency when being plant Based. Either eat more legumes and avocados. I mean huge bowls big ass meals. Still don't blow up? Add minimally processed foods like Ezekiel bread, crunchy peanut butter low sodium. No excuses to go back and eating like a savage if you got access to a grocery store.
@@texmexspm nah, it's a protein deficiency. I was whole foods vegan for a year and a half, eating over 3000 calories daily, and still gradually losing muscle mass. And yes, I ate plenty of beans and seeds, etc. I ditched the vegan train and now I'm no longer deteriorating, and I don't need over 3000 calories anymore either.
@@SIIKAP1 it could be a lack of protein. It's hard gaining on whole foods plantbased diet but still sounds like an excuse to me. If you're not building on 3000 calories than jump another 500- 1000 just like any other diet. If you're not gaining than eat more. Body builder Barney duplessis mentioned in an interview he had to eat an additional 1000-2000 calories when he switched to a plantbased diet. I can see why it may be attractive to just give up an go back to the old diet that seems more convenient. Just comes down to how strong your will is and how dedicated you are to building your body on the least deaths and pollution. Some people don't care. I think it's worth it in the long run. Just an opinion
Hey Alex, I think you should reflect a little on what you said in this video. Yes, consuming high amounts of fat can/does increase certain kinds of cholesterol, but on the other hand, high dietary cholesterol has no causal impact on blood cholesterol. Cholesterol is, among other, a transport mechanism for fat. If you consume a lot of fat at once, you need a lot of transport-molecules. This is not necessarily a bad thing. The study you linked is very old and feature a diet that consist of high amounts of fat COMBINED with high amounts of carbs. Newer studies show that triglycerides levels or molecule sizes seem to be more important. The studies are based on the observation of cholesterol at inflamed areas. The cholesterol is a symptom, not the cause of the inflammation. You should reduce inflammation (the cause) in the first place. You are essentially arguing that everyone who follows a Ketogenic diet is unhealthy, which is simply not true. There are lots of new and great studies on this topic, which you seem to ignore. You have a solid base of knowledge on many things. But biochemistry is a very complex matter, you shouldn't jump to conclusions too fast. This does NOT mean that you shouldn't have a basis of vegetables and fruit. Processed foods are generally bad. We have some fantastic UA-cam Channels in Germany on those topics you named. They explain in great details why SARMS are bad for you and how. But they also explain why a fat-based diet can be good for you .
no you have no idea what your talking about dietary cholesterol increases blood choelsterol.. This is already known. The reason a lot of bodybuilders eat like crap is because it's nearly impossible to eat a lot of fruit and veggies with the calorie requirements they have. Stuff like cucumbers, tomatoes, spinach and broccoli have extremely low calories and are pretty filling. Have you tried eating 4000 calories of purely healthy food every day? Most people's stomachs can't fit it because, let's face it, it's not natural to eat this much unless you're extraordinarily tall. I'm pretty light (65 KG-178cm) and I have kept losing weight ever since I cut refined sugar from my diet (started off at around 78 KG). According to a calculator, my metabolism is around 1680 calories a day, and I tried eating ~2200 and I still didn't gain weight (everything was measured carefully to avoid mistakes). I just couldn't eat more than that without adding garbage or heavily cutting my fruits and veggies, which I refuse to do just for the sake of having some extra muscle. As Alpha said, health comes first.
I don't understand why this video gets so many dislikes. I agreed with most of what you said. That being said, people have different goals. Your goals might be alot different to someone elses. And not everyone 'cares' about living a long life, some value a higher quality of a shorter life over a long one. All in all though, great video. Like your passion. Subscribed.
his thoughts on the subject are very poor based, although I believe that foods such as lentils, beans and even eating plenty of fruits aids you in longevity, you simply cannot hide the benefits of complete foods : Whole Eggs, Fatty Steak and even some cheese.
But seriously the quality of your food affects more things than your body's health and composition. It even affects your mood (which means your happines too), your phychology and your overall quality of life.
Guys I think I just figured out that for some people such as me its not only about physical health and don’t be surprised that bad health habits will lead to depression and then you will think you have all kinds of mental diseases. Dont learn it the hard way reduce immflamation and you will feel amazing.
Everybody is getting overly butthurt by his opinions on health. He should should be able to say whatever opinions he wants because you should never worship 100% of everything a person says without doing your own research first so the more opinions the merrier. He is merely opening up minds to new opinions and trying to be helpful and it's not like he created a channel to sell bullshit health guru advice. Lol people get too attatched to what this guy says vs that guy instead of creating your influences from all of your sources and common sense. But people respond more so like, "WTF Alphadestiny doesn't eat eggs?! I'm unsubscribing from this ignorant hippy! How could he do me like this? Fuck that guy!" SMH
@@AlexLeonidas I remember when you first made a video talking about veganism you went and deleted it after bc you said that's not the direction you want to take your channel and you dont want controversy but IMO you shouldn't give a shit. I like these videos and they do not take away from your actual lifting advice.
Great comment. Smart people actually listen to others views and do research instead of being dogmatic, but getting butthurt over videos like this is also about denial and self-deception, being biased and wanting to stay that way. For example: I don't follow a plant based diet, however a lot of research indicates that it is better for health purposes. This does not make me happy at all, but facts are facts. I would love to believe the research saying otherwise so that I could eat what I want (I love meat and eggs), but unfortunately the studies in favor of them are blatantly flawed and biased, not to mention outnumbered. People don't want to accept the consequences of their choices.
All due respect, all of the studies I have seen which indicate dietary cholesterol is bad for heart health have several flaws: 1. Not differentiating between HDL and HDL (if you eat 8 eggs, and your cholesterol increases, it is HDL, which prevents heart disease) 2. Having ridiculously small sample sizes 3. Not charting other important variables like food preparation method, time span, etc...
@@petermolenaar6670 @Peter Molenaar I agree that there is a lot to be discussed in that regard, but I get most of my cholesterol from my own free range chicken eggs, my own sheep milk, and from animals that I hunt. Some people might have ethical issues with some of those sources, but I don't, and the environmental impact of each is positive, not negative. What you said MOST DEFINITELY applies to conventional agricultural, and even industrial organic practices though.
1 ) if you eat eggs sure, you have a tiny increase in hdl BUT you also have a massive increase in ldl ( if your ldl isn't already through the roof ) and i have not seen a single sound piece of data proving that elevating hdl negates the negative effects of elevated ldl, not a single piece of data. 2 ) just because a study doesn't have thousands of participants doesnt mean the study is invalid. For example : a clinical intervention study OR a clinical observation study. Both of these study designs cannot support hundreds or thousands of participants due to the nature of the study. Its to expensive to track all these people but the findings are still accurate even if its only 10 or more participants. I can show you an example of each if you desire it? 3 ) most sound methodology studies do actually track the variables and factor them in. My question is - have you found any data showing elevating hdl proving to negate the negative effects of elevated ldl choleaterol? As I said, I have never found anything of the sort.
@@huntster4000 Hey! As with any topic these days, the truth is pretty complex. Without being a nutritionist, I don't pretend to know the definitive truth, but hopefully a conversation with you will help bring me a little closer to the truth. A few ideas/questions which complicate things, some of which lead me towards my opinion. 1. Could eggs be bad for some people and not others depending on their genetics, their lifestyles, the rest of their diets, and what types of eggs they eat? 2. Indigenous diets based on high cholesterol foods (Inuit for example) seems to contribute to as low an incidence of disease as indigenous diets which are mostly vegetarian. Because of this, I tend toward traditional diets, which have produced healthy, disease free populations (this can include egg free, or egg abundant diets) 3. It seems as if healthy people without inflammatory issues can eat as many eggs as they want without negative incidence. Anecdotal evidence is obviously not reliable, but I have been eating 5-10 eggs a day, every day, from the time I was 18-37, as well as drinking whole milk, heavy cream, and eating a lot of meat (all organic, pasture raised, or, very often, eggs from my own backyard chickens, and meat which I hunted myself), and my bloodwork is stellar. I am not an anomaly in this regard either. It seems as if industrial, modern diets are unhealthy, not the foods themselves. 4. Many studies are biased (funded the Egg industry, for example) 5. There are no studies on either side, in fact, no nutritional studies at all which take into account the myriad factors which could influence results. I found this interesting article, which seems unbiased, and which summarizes many of the pertinent studies from both sides. What do you think? www.stopbeingconfusedabouthealth.com/eggs-raise-cholesterol-myth/
This video is soo important and always will be. I know a guy who can squat and deadlift into the very high 200's and a high bench But his heart "Isn't pumping at full capacity" (which if you type that in it comes up with heart failure) kidney problems and high blood pressure......And he's only 34 I was strong asf at 95kg - 100kg but goddamn, getting up to that weight just be able to lift more weights in the gym is absolutely not worth it. Weigh 88kg now, lost strength, but feeling healthier, can fall asleep quicker and deeper, doing regular cardio 2,3 times a week. Edit: The guy is still the same weight, I'd say he's about 105/110kg 5'6 dispite his health problems, and he now has to take heart medication.

Sacrificing gains is a concept that a lot of people need to get a hold of. Not to say they aren't important but are they worth health, social life, productivity, or whatever else? Not to mention dismorphia is horrible and impacts everyone at every level at least a little.
Totally agree with you my friend. I think if you did some diet videos. Showing your shopping list, maybe some recipes.. That would go down a treat with your viewers I think.
I am not a fan of steroids. I never had an anabolic steroid in my life. Steroids are unhealthy and can also make you more injury prone
Trash food at meets is so true I remember a kid eating a bag of chips literally right after weigh ins at a wrestling meet
Holy shit dude. I haven’t sat down and watched a single video from this guy in months, and here he’s grown out a full-on mane.
Where has the time gone.
I’m 14. Thank you for providing positive influence Alex. ❤️👍💪🏻
He's wrong though.
Do not go plant based at 14. EAT EAT EAT
Don't be fooled by the Vegan agenda buddy.
The coconut oil and egg thing has studies proving they are good and studies proving they are bad- There is no 100% conclusion to this yet so I just have 1 egg a day and I fry turkey in like half a spoon of coconut oil. But the cardio/ steroid points I agree with.
Eggs have cholesterol and saturated fat, they are not healthy.
the studies showing they are good are funded by the industry
Here is how those industries use flawed studies to confuse you.

This throws a huge wrench in the wheel of UA-cam fitness and I am all about it. I’ve always struggled to gain weight so I have a TON of milk and cheese and I’m going to be honest my health has suffered. Time to change my diet even if I lose some of my muscle, it’s worth it.

Hi Alex, could you do a day of eating or a video covering your favorite meals to make. Would be appreciated greatly. Thanks ! :)
Your body makes his own cholesterol.
Dietary cholesterol and saturated fats are not good for you.

Going plant-based was the best decision I've ever made.
Your life must be a train-wreck.
@Gut Gains Get out
Veganism is the most unatural diet. You should watch the youtube channel "Sv3rige"

“All processed food is cancerous”

Ooooooooooof
I’m 19 with a freaky fast metabolism. I’ve gone vegan and vegetarian for months at a time and have cut out all processed foods. The issue is I practically evaporator muscle mass. The second I introduce junk food and a more “meathead” diet I literally blow up. The dirty bulk works wonders for me physically but then I feel like a piece of shit after a month or two -similar to your experience
Why not just eat all whole foods and meats... But skip the junk.
Lower your protein. No protien powders. Youll eat alot more bro.

But they also explain why a fat-based diet can be good for you .

have a good day
The reason a lot of bodybuilders eat like crap is because it's nearly impossible to eat a lot of fruit and veggies with the calorie requirements they have.

Great channel man, just found it today. Almost 4 years plant based and going strong over here!
What exactly is the benefit of a long life if you aren't happy?
his thoughts on the subject are very poor based, although I believe that foods such as lentils, beans and even eating plenty of fruits aids you in longevity, you simply cannot hide the benefits of complete foods : Whole Eggs, Fatty Steak and even some cheese.
@@truthanddesire1291 what are the benefits of these foods?
Dying sooner than your expected lifespan but be happy until then, thats their benefit.
But seriously the quality of your food affects more things than your body's health and composition. It even affects your mood (which means your happines too), your phychology and your overall quality of life.

the uncensored old school alex, this is what i like...
Good points Sean
All due respect, all of the studies I have seen which indicate dietary cholesterol is bad for heart health have several flaws:
1. Not differentiating between HDL and HDL (if you eat 8 eggs, and your cholesterol increases, it is HDL, which prevents heart disease)
2. Having ridiculously small sample sizes
Because of this, I tend toward traditional diets, which have produced healthy, disease free populations (this can include egg free, or egg abundant diets)
4. Many studies are biased (funded the Egg industry, for example)
