I agree so much with this philosophy. I used to have a dominos pizza 1x a week, and the next day I felt like shit, inflammation and even breathing issues the next day. Ever since I’ve been eating clean my life has improved astoundingly.
One of my most important videos yet. Enjoy!
I am so glad that somebody in the fitnesscomunity is paying atention to this. Unhealthy eating lifestyle is in my opinion one of the biggest issues we face. Yet most people aren't aware of it.
Tank you Alex for making this video!!
Getting a bit of the old passionate alpha in this video. Nice
Vegan Gains is going to love the fact that you said we shouldn't look at studies funded by the egg industry. I do, too.
We should. We can expose them for what they are.
I'm open to the idea but you should do a video of a full day of eating so we get some ideas on timing and what not
Josh Caldwell he won’t do it dude. He’s literally been saying he’s gonna do it for over 2 years, and he’s been saying he’s gonna do vegan cooking videos for over 8 months
@@HiHowAreYouuuuuuuuuuuuuu that's unfortunate I would be open to listen but I agree idk why people don't ever show a full day of it and other options of how they typically eat. Is it like a huge secret?
U could try looking up vegan physic he does body building vegan meal prep with high protein and all that good channel
Josh Caldwell he probably doesn’t see it as a “alpha” video
One of the best videos you've ever done. Pro Bodybuilders are like apples. Nice on the outside but rotten inside.
Rotten on the outside too tbh

Dude I have no idea how you've affected my habits and my mentality that much, one of the best and most valuable channels out here! Keep it up bro, this community needs you !

you are my life coach now lol....old age sucks, i worked at a retirement home in the kitchen and got to see what that was like for elderlys, i was also a Home Health Aid for a while, the day i had to wipe an old mans ass because he couldnt care for himself was the day i understood the importance of health. i wanted to be healthy so that if i were to live to get that old i would still be able to wipe my own ass, i never want to be so weak i have to experience someone wiping my ass for me. thats actually a true story of the birth of my health motivation lol
I understand the mindset of an unhealthy died and steroids. It's a 'fast way of getting to your goals', but that's not what fitness is about. Fitness is about the long run and your body is the progress. It would be a shame if at the end of the line, the body would be the one that suffers.
You won't live that much longer, you'll just live better

Bro give us some calorie dense healthy recipes! Like if you agree
Haven't been hitting the weights lately, and just focusing on calisthenics and cardio. I'll still lift here and there though. Keeping the diet clean too. I've leaned out and I look alot better in the cheekbones. Didn't know I had puffy cheeks until a good friend told me that I looked leaner. Upper body muscles also pop out more since I'm leaner.
This is 100x better than being a big bulky bodybuilder.
Just wanted to share.
Have a great day bois
@Rheor forreal. Also takamura is the man.
The problem with today is people are promoting "if it fits your macros" bullshit. Fitness is about being fit and healthy. While I'm not a vegan and do eat meat, I still workout eating healthy like old fashioned oats, fruits, vegetables, etc. I don't really like eggs.
Camsfitness vegan isn't necessarily more healthy... if you are vegan and you need supplements obviously your diet lacks something a meat eater doesn't lack
@@ABABABABABABABABABABBBBBB true. I don't have anything against vegans though. But I don't think it would fit me.
@@ABABABABABABABABABABBBBBB Exactly, *if.* Yeah, a vegan diet can be shitty. But how much are we gonna blame on veganism? Just because some bad diet happens to be plant based, doesn't mean all plant based diets are bad. And where do you think herbivores get all of our must-have nutrients that their bodies contain? Animals cannot produce nutrients, that's just chemistry.
Anyone else thinks he looks like Che Guevara here?
I think its a good thing a strenght athlete is talking about stuff like this, its always the the skinny yoga guy talking about health, a guy like you sharing this kind of stuff is more relatable to most people, keep up the good work

Beans and oatmeal are cheap asf and can taste great
Absolutely bro
Beans taste incredible bro. I eat them on a regular basis with great enjoyment. Just gotta add the right ingredients and season correctly.
Beans take a long time to prepare though unless it is Canned beans

Well said Alex. This needs to be spoken about more! 👍🏻❤️
true... i tested on myself, just 1 week with junk food, after that week i needed 2 weeks to get back, all i get is depression, fat, tiredness... all bad things
Gaining muscle is just one piece of the puzzle
I work at an Italian restaurant and i have to see coworkers and people eat horrible processed food on the daily. My favorite is when the scrawny younger workers proudly exclaim i can eat as much of this and not gain a pound, its like yeah i'm sure you couldn't gain any muscle with that crap either, congrats on not getting enough micro nutrients? The sad thing about the (SAD) diet is most people don't know how awful it is I've seen so many people blow up in their mid-20's after drinking and eating bad and the fact is most of them don't know how bad processed foods, sugars and oils are on our bodies. Our generation needs a PSA of more fruit and veggies less cheese and processed junk, and exercise or we will be dieing sooner than our parents generation.
vedaskies12 ok so I’m 14, pretty scrawny and starting to get more serious about lifting, but I want to gain more weight in the process, even though I am and I’m happy about it, i realize now that it’s all unhealthy weight that I’m gaining, and I was wondering anyway I could change my diet to start gaining “healthy” weight if that makes sense
Well said brother
Spot on. A much needed message in the fitness community. Keep dropping those truth bombs 👍🌱💪
You mean lie bombs?
Great channel man, just found it today. Almost 4 years plant based and going strong over here!
Holy shit dude. I haven’t sat down and watched a single video from this guy in months, and here he’s grown out a full-on mane.
Where has the time gone.
The first wealth is health!
Never understood why this video is considered controversial.
Wish someone would have told me this stuff 10 years ago. Outstanding video.
Glad to see this turnaround in your stances and choices. We've got a lot of work to do changing the food/exercise culture of the industry and world at large so huge props to you for spreading the word (that you're already getting trolled for).
Thanks for the video Alex! Been trying to change my perception of 'health' around for the past month & I feel great already!
People have a six pack but have bad digestion, bad skin, bad smell, bad energy, bad joint pain, bad recovery time, and people still think they're healthy... smh
Healthdestiny. Your the only one that preaches health Which makes your Chanel Unique.
A lot of people dont think about it untill They lose it then They Will really know the value of being healthy
Been hoping for this type of video from you. Thank you so much for finally addressing all these crucial yet under looked points Alex my respect for you continues to rise brother, especially since your addressing topics that are extremely controversial knowing they can potential end in you receiving tons of back lash much love.
Thank you too brother 👊
Fucking spot on brother.
This is one of your most important and best video (for me)
So much respect for you making this video man. You’ve done what so many others won’t and spoken the truth despite the risk of disillusioning the nay-sayers in your audience. Truth over all else, you’re the realest in the game
Sacrificing gains is a concept that a lot of people need to get a hold of. Not to say they aren't important but are they worth health, social life, productivity, or whatever else? Not to mention dismorphia is horrible and impacts everyone at every level at least a little.
Alex is the big brother we wish we all had.
When is AlphaRecipes dropping?
your hands and eye sockets are orange
Mate, I thought exactly the same. I recon he's eating too many carrots (seriously) which can turn your skin orange-y.
totally agree. I also suspect nutrient deficiency due to his vegan diet.
womp lol that's not how it works. It could be lighting and it seriously could be that he's eating a shit ton of beta carotene. Explain how a vegan diet is nutrient deficient, if you're eating all the necessary nutrients?
Thank you man, you are a pioneer of truth and you know it.
The coconut oil and egg thing has studies proving they are good and studies proving they are bad- There is no 100% conclusion to this yet so I just have 1 egg a day and I fry turkey in like half a spoon of coconut oil. But the cardio/ steroid points I agree with.
Eggs have cholesterol and saturated fat, they are not healthy.
the studies showing they are good are funded by the industry
Here is how those industries use flawed studies to confuse you.

For those looking for a super easy way to add more vegetables to their diet, I highly recommend investing in a high quality blender (i.e. Vitamix). Just toss some kale, carrots, bok choy, etc. in there, add a little fruit, maybe some protein powder, and a fat like coconut milk (if you are drinking this as a meal replacement; you need fat to absorb the vitamins). I just turned 30, but all the vegetables I've added to my diet over the past few months has led to me having more stable energy and making PRs in the gym. Of course, adding more vegetables to your diet doesn't mean you can still eat lots of junk food, but blending your vegetables greatly reduces the prep time and effort needed to eat vegetables.
yeah that seems like a great idea, I'll try that out, I've been feeling very tired lately. I remember in older videos when Alex mentioned often that he would drink fruit and greens smoothies every night to get all his micronutrients. I guess I should try that out, maybe it will give me the energy I have been seeking for many years.
I’m here for a good time not a long time
Let's go, my first thought lol
Bob Black 😂 do whatever makes you happy, but have a good think and come to your own conclusion.

Alex what's the deal with cheat rows becoming harder and strict easier?
I now barbell row less weight at a 45-degree angle (barbell touching knees at the bottom) than rowing below the knee in a more horizontal position?? I used to have the opposite situation (easier the more I'm upright)
I’m 14. Thank you for providing positive influence Alex. ❤️👍💪🏻
He's wrong though.
Do not go plant based at 14. EAT EAT EAT
Don't be fooled by the Vegan agenda buddy.
this video is fucking amazing , i hope you dont get alot of backlash from this because theres so much damn truth in this video
Hey Alex, I think you should reflect a little on what you said in this video. Yes, consuming high amounts of fat can/does increase certain kinds of cholesterol, but on the other hand, high dietary cholesterol has no causal impact on blood cholesterol. Cholesterol is, among other, a transport mechanism for fat. If you consume a lot of fat at once, you need a lot of transport-molecules. This is not necessarily a bad thing. The study you linked is very old and feature a diet that consist of high amounts of fat COMBINED with high amounts of carbs. Newer studies show that triglycerides levels or molecule sizes seem to be more important. The studies are based on the observation of cholesterol at inflamed areas. The cholesterol is a symptom, not the cause of the inflammation. You should reduce inflammation (the cause) in the first place. You are essentially arguing that everyone who follows a Ketogenic diet is unhealthy, which is simply not true. There are lots of new and great studies on this topic, which you seem to ignore. You have a solid base of knowledge on many things. But biochemistry is a very complex matter, you shouldn't jump to conclusions too fast. This does NOT mean that you shouldn't have a basis of vegetables and fruit. Processed foods are generally bad.
We have some fantastic UA-cam Channels in Germany on those topics you named. They explain in great details why SARMS are bad for you and how. But they also explain why a fat-based diet can be good for you .
no you have no idea what your talking about dietary cholesterol increases blood choelsterol.. This is already known. HENCE PEOPLE HAVE HIGH CHOLESTEROL. look at the reserach. your studies are flawed or funded. ill link you some metas. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1534437, www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18348715, www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9001684 --- watch vegan gains

Cholesterol stuff aside,
1. Remove processed foods
2. Increase micronutrient intake
3. Do cardio
This is some of the most important and most overlooked advice out there. I can’t believe it took this long for this video to pop up in my feed after I’ve watched what feels like most of your lifting videos.
Great video man, I will change some stuff in my diet after watching this!
Totally agree with you my friend. I think if you did some diet videos. Showing your shopping list, maybe some recipes.. That would go down a treat with your viewers I think.
Well shit. Looks like Imma have to drop the 3 pizzas a week
Jesus you really should. Go vegan
Yesss Alex, thank you for this video. Love from UK.
Good job. Whats your opinion about whole grain bread? Is it good?
Yeah it's good but only if you also eat enough fruits and vegetables. Also, it depends on where you're at, if your appetite is very low and you're struggling to eat mostly healthy foods, you can slowly transition by incorporating more and more good foods into your diet and swapping the bad ones for more healthy alternatives. What I would recommend is that you use an app called Cronometer and track your food in the app for at least 2 weeks to figure out if you are getting enough calories. The app will also track your macronutrients (protein, carbs and fats) and it will also track your micronutrients (vitamins and minerals). If you start using the app, you will realize how easy it is to actually hit the targets each day and get at least 100% of everything, and even as a vegan it is very doable, it doesn't matter what your budget is, everyone can eat healthy if they have the will to do it. Also, the message from the video is mostly that you must not eat too many processed foods, meaning that if you have the choice between a banana or a piece of whole grain bread, you must choose the banana, but the whole grain bread is still healthy also, it's just that it tends to contain a lot of sodium in it also. But like I said, it depends on your appetite, if you are a skinny guy struggling to eat enough, it doesn't matter if you eat tons of pasta and whole grain bread as long as your processed foods are actually healthy, and as your appetite grows, you can become more and more healthy. The problem most skinny guys face is trying to eat 100% clean and failing because their appetite is too low and never increases so you need to take it easy in the beginning to let your body have time to adjust to your new way of life.
@@olivierlazure5720 Ok.Thank you very much!!

Great, great video. I love your critical thinking.
Alex have you got the muccoid plaque out of you yet? Or studied the raw diet? Dry fasting is also pretty incredible. What’s your opinion on protein 100g a day enough?
Spitting knowledge again, thanks for speaking the truth about this topics!
You need to make a cooking channel. I'll sub that.
genius
I’m 19 with a freaky fast metabolism. I’ve gone vegan and vegetarian for months at a time and have cut out all processed foods. The issue is I practically evaporator muscle mass. The second I introduce junk food and a more “meathead” diet I literally blow up. The dirty bulk works wonders for me physically but then I feel like a piece of shit after a month or two -similar to your experience
Why not just eat all whole foods and meats... But skip the junk.
Lower your protein. No protien powders. Youll eat alot more bro.
Sounds like a calorie deficiency when being plant Based. Either eat more legumes and avocados. I mean huge bowls big ass meals. Still don't blow up? Add minimally processed foods like Ezekiel bread, crunchy peanut butter low sodium. No excuses to go back and eating like a savage if you got access to a grocery store.
@@texmexspm nah, it's a protein deficiency. I was whole foods vegan for a year and a half, eating over 3000 calories daily, and still gradually losing muscle mass. And yes, I ate plenty of beans and seeds, etc.
I ditched the vegan train and now I'm no longer deteriorating, and I don't need over 3000 calories anymore either.
@@SIIKAP1 it could be a lack of protein. It's hard gaining on whole foods plantbased diet but still sounds like an excuse to me. If you're not building on 3000 calories than jump another 500- 1000 just like any other diet. If you're not gaining than eat more. Body builder Barney duplessis mentioned in an interview he had to eat an additional 1000-2000 calories when he switched to a plantbased diet. I can see why it may be attractive to just give up an go back to the old diet that seems more convenient. Just comes down to how strong your will is and how dedicated you are to building your body on the least deaths and pollution. Some people don't care. I think it's worth it in the long run. Just an opinion

This throws a huge wrench in the wheel of UA-cam fitness and I am all about it. I’ve always struggled to gain weight so I have a TON of milk and cheese and I’m going to be honest my health has suffered. Time to change my diet even if I lose some of my muscle, it’s worth it.
you don't have to lose muscle.
just plan your diet right
Can you give us an example of how it is like eating plant based on a weekly basis? I find it so hard to make the switch, everyone just say stuff like «eat more beans,» which I don’t find super helpful
Research a meal or two and start encorporating them a couple times a weeks. It is not as overwhelming if you ease into it with some solid meals.
Also think of some things you already eat regularly that can easily become plant based. (Burritos/burrito bowls, pastas, Chilis, soups etcs.)
Keep up the good work! I agree with you 100%

I know a guy who can squat and deadlift into the very high 200's and a high bench
But his heart "Isn't pumping at full capacity" (which if you type that in it comes up with heart failure) kidney problems and high blood pressure......And he's only 34
I was strong asf at 95kg - 100kg but goddamn, getting up to that weight just be able to lift more weights in the gym is absolutely not worth it. Weigh 88kg now, lost strength, but feeling healthier, can fall asleep quicker and deeper, doing regular cardio 2,3 times a week.
Edit: The guy is still the same weight, I'd say he's about 105/110kg 5'6 dispite his health problems, and he now has to take heart medication.
Hi Alex, could you do a day of eating or a video covering your favorite meals to make. Would be appreciated greatly. Thanks ! :)
Thank you for making this video, I started having problems with binging on junk and telling myself it is ok. 12 % body fat with adequate muscle mass.
